It is so fun to watch JD Vance clean media clocks. This time is was CBS and this morning’s Face The Nation with Margaret Brennan.
CBS reported the interview with a decided slant.
In his first interview since taking office, Vice President JD Vance on Saturday defended President Trump’s flurry of executive orders, his pardons of hundreds of Jan. 6 defendants, and the new administration’s aggressive efforts to deport undocumented immigrants.
Vance dismissed concerns that the White House was not prioritizing U.S. economic fears, and argued that suspending the nation’s refugee admissions program was justified.
Pete Hegseth is a disrupter!! Please do gasp and clutch all the pearls! Given what the Air Force just pulled regarding DEI curriculum regarding the Tuskegee Airmen and the fact that the Pentagon has failed SEVEN audits in these last few years, I’m all for a disrupter coming in and taking names!
Margaret tried to catch him with all sorts of gotchas and each question was an epic fail…for her. Did she honestly think that she’d catch him off guard about the high price of bacon in the grocery stores? Yep, she did.
Well explained. Even a 2nd grader or a journalist can understand you JD!

What’s illuminating about all of this is that Democrats suddenly discovered that grocery prices are through the roof right now, and they are all over social media squawking about the price of eggs!
While at the same time attempting to dunk on the Trump Administration (boy do I love typing THAT phrase!) and wondering why prices haven’t magically dropped like a rock. Shows their economic illiteracy for sure. It takes more than 4 days and putting policies in place for the economic turn around to commence. We know that and they do to, but continue the gaslighting because that’s all they’ve got.
The implication that the new administration had not made concrete progress was blatant, yet Vance responded with conviction.
“Well, first of all, we have done a lot, and there have been a number of executive orders that have caused, already, jobs to start coming back into our country, which is a core part of lowering prices,” he told her.
He emphasized that the key to reducing prices lies in “more capital investment, more job creation in our economy,” which he argued would ultimately empower consumers to afford what they need.
“So, grocery prices aren’t going to come down?” Brennan asked, like a moron.
To this, Vance assured her, “No, Margaret, prices are going to come down, but it’s going to take a little bit of time.”
Vance continued, “The president has been president for all of five days. I think that in those five days, he’s accomplished more than Joe Biden did in four years. It’s been an incredible breakneck pace of activity.”
Things have to be put in place, and bells un-rung before we start seeing the benefits of sound economic policies.
Our economy has also been impacted by the unchecked illegal immigration the Biden Administration inflicted upon us. Resources from schools to hospitals to law enforcement and more have been stretched beyond belief. All of which has an economic impact upon our economy.
In response to the lecture from the US Council of Catholic Bishops, Vance said this to CBS’s Margaret Brennan.
As a practicing Catholic, I was actually heartbroken by that statement,’ he said in his first post-inauguration interview on CBS’s Face the Nation Sunday program.
The father-of-three continued: ‘I think the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has, frankly, not been a good partner in common sense immigration enforcement that the American people voted for, and I hope, again, as a devout Catholic, that they’ll do better.’
~Snip
‘I think that the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops needs to actually look in the mirror a little bit and recognize that when they receive over $100 million to help resettle illegal immigrants, are they worried about humanitarian concerns, or are they actually worried about their bottom line?’ he questioned.
‘We’re going to enforce immigration law. We’re going to protect the American people.’
Conducting raids and arresting known Tren de Arugua gang members who are here illegally is a fantastic start!
Wait, we were told by CO Gov and mayors of Denver and Aurora that the Tren de Arugua gangs were figments of our imaginations! https://t.co/jZKZXAjn8P

As for FEMA, yes that organization is a disaster on its own. More often than not, FEMA has actually hindered disaster recovery. We’ve seen that on major display over the course of the last four months in North Carolina. Homes, what’s left of them, haven’t been inspected. People were going to be kicked out of housing at the last minute just as the Polar Vortex was arriving, and funds and FEMA have been non-existent.

So yes, I’m with the Trump Administration on this. Vance is correct, FEMA is a mess and needs overhauled.
An underrated clip from JD Vance's appearance on Face The Nation.

"The American people should expect more of their government.
When there's a terrible disaster, they should expect food, medicine and water to get to the people who need it. When there's a terrible fire in… pic.twitter.com/mmJcx5A3SK
CBS thought they’d catch JD Vance off guard with their planned gotcha questions. Instead, they got schooled and it was a thing of beauty.

In any case, the current high prices are entirely Bidenflation. Numbers are being reported for DECEMBER.
Whether January numbers look worse, better, or the same – can’t be known right now. (Although I’d expect somewhat worse – extremely bad weather in much of the nation.)
Having low expectations for the government is acceptable. I want them to only do the things they are supposed to do and get out of our way for the rest of it.
That being said, these journalists are absolute amateurs and he gave that woman more respect than she deserves.
