While many people were focusing on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s political tweet about the tragedy at Poway Chabad, others realized that her cutesy ‘fun run’ for the Green New Deal wasn’t about the Green New Deal at all. Nope, it was about raising money for her reelection campaign.
She already has a history of campaign shenanigans such as paying her boyfriend under the table and her problematic swamp issues with the two PAC’s and LLC’s that she’d been involved in. One would think with that scrutiny, she’d tread more carefully in the future. Evidently not.
“Environmentally conscious supporters — who jogged through Astoria Park alongside a beaming, strolling AOC — believed their money was going to help save the planet.
“It’s going to help raise awareness and educate people,” a female runner told The Post.
“I think it’s really for this particular New Green Deal,” said Brian Schwartz of Long Island. “No question.”
“It’s to help the environment. To support the Green New Deal,” another woman said. “It’s a good cause.””
Which good cause was that? Not the Green New Deal. Even as idiotic Mayor De Blasio decided to tank the construction industry in the city with his new ban…
AOC was engaged in shenanigans of her own with yesterday’s 5K as evidenced by this information from a third-party website.
“Registration fees are contributions to AOC for Congress,” reads the legal disclosure on aoc5k.com, which lists the Federal Election Commission rules that donors must follow.”
Oh. Well. Isn’t that something? But wait! There is more.
Not only did many participants not realize this wasn’t raising money in support of the Green New Deal, some folks might be on the hook for campaign violations as well. Why?
“Even kids as young as 3 became unknowing political donors — ponying up $20 fees to join a kids’ 1k.
But by fudging the fact that those fees were actually campaign contributions, AOC may have enticed constituents into inadvertently breaking federal election laws.
Parents, for example, can’t contribute their own funds in a child’s name.” [Emphasis Added]
First of all, those participating got routed to a third-party site that conveniently buried the fact that this was a fundraiser for AOC and not the Green New Deal. Secondly, by doing so, parents who forked over $20 for their children to take part in this were put in jeopardy because of her shenanigans.
She did not run herself? I find that most disturbing. “Here are my positions that you can pay for but no need for me to participate.”

Exactly. Now, she only raised $11,000 for her campaign. A decent amount of money for sure. But tainted because of how she went about it.
Deception, or just a good ole fashioned socialist shell game……………..both?

I’d say it was both. One wonders what the FEC will have say about this?
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is showing us time and again that her Green New Deal is all about her and the benefits she stands to realize from it. Socialism is a feature with her. Not a bug.

Nothing. Just like the answer to the question of what will be done about this?
Nothing to worry about. The dinosaur media will not report this. Low/no information voters will continue their support, stupid statements will continue. NOTHING WILL CHANGE!!
Will not be reported nor acted upon.
*sound of one more coffin nail*
Cameron’s answer about what the FEC will do about this is probably right on. Check the current composition of the Commission and you will see a definite left, Democratic bias.
just a good ole fashioned socialist shell game
Now I have Three Dog Night stuck in my head……………………..
