Brave Kirsten Gillibrand Enters Democrat Presidential Race

Kirsten Gillibrand, the junior Senator from the Empire State, has tossed her hat in to the Democrat Primary for the 2020 Presidential Race. That makes her candidate number 7,563. Nah, just kidding, it only feels that way. As of this nano-second, the actual number is fifteen.

The question is: What exactly does Kirsten Gillibrand bring to the party? What does she believe in? What has Senator Gillibrand done? Ummm. Well, she has girly parts. We have not yet had a female President although some of the men have been a little… Oh, never mind. That is so cisgendered of me. Not at all gender neutral. Let’s take a look at her Presidential Announcement Video:

Last things first, did you notice where Gillibrand is having her meet and greet on March 24, 2019? The Trump International Hotel in New York City! Trump’s Troll Level is Galactic Master, right?

I could really quibble with the premise of this video. And, I will, briefly. Our National Anthem does not ask “Will brave win?” The author Francis Scott Key was watching the bombardment of Fort McHenry from a ship. As the bombs were bursting in air, he couldn’t always see our flag. The phrase Kirsten Gillibrand is referencing does not ask if brave will win. The freedom and bravery of the American people is established. The question is does the flag still wave. It’s a quibble, but it’s kind of the point of the song. I feel better now that I have that off my chest.

Because we sent men to the Moon, we can end gun violence, Kirsten? You could TRY to take guns away from law-abiding citizens but how are you going to get them from criminals. This is such a brainless trope that all the lefties keep repeating. Hey, Senator, after you re-read the lyrics of the National Anthem, try re-reading the Second Amendment.

Here is the Los Angeles Times take on the Gillibrand announcement:

The video highlighted Trump’s proposed ban on Muslim travel to the U.S., his administration’s separation of migrant families at the U.S.-Mexico border and the 2017 march of neo-Nazis in Charlottesville, Va., that led to violence.

Playing off the “home of the brave” line of the national anthem, Gillibrand says: “Brave doesn’t spread hate, cloud truth, build a wall – that’s what fear does.”

She called for universal healthcare, paid family leave for all, a stop to gun violence and passage of liberal lawmakers’ “Green New Deal” proposal to end the nation’s reliance on fossil fuels.

Gillibrand’s announcement came less than a week after her image as a champion of the #MeToo movement was shaken by a Politico report of alleged sexual harassment in her Senate office.

A former Gillibrand aide resigned after accusing her office in a letter last August of mishandling her complaint of harassment by Abbas Malik, a special assistant to the senator, Politico reported.

Gillibrand declined to fire Malik at the time, but dismissed him this month after Politico inquired about the matter. Gillibrand told reporters the complaint “was taken very seriously from the beginning.”

“I deeply valued her,” she said of the aide who filed the complaint.

Can you say hypocrite? Sure you can. Remember how Gillibrand helped hound the heinous cretin Al Franken from the Senate? Again, from the LA Times:

While many have applauded Gillibrand’s advocacy on issues of concern to women — she highlighted her efforts against sexual assault in the military on Sunday — some Democrats have accused her of rushing to judgment in 2017 on Sen. Al Franken of Minnesota.

Gillibrand was the first senator to call on Franken to resign after reports of sexual misconduct, which he eventually did.

As a U.S. Senator, Gillibrand’s enacted legislation mostly consists of naming buildings.

Her announcement video makes her positions clear on many things, but the line about the brave not building walls and separating families is a spit in the face to flyover America.

Kirsten Gillibrand has a snowball’s chance in Hell of surviving through the first Democrat debate. Senator Kamala Harris will eat her lunch and then drink her milkshake while simultaneously smacking down Robert Francis O’Rourke’s hands.

Stay tuned for the next entrant in the Fools for President 2020 Race.

I agre she misinterpretted the Star Spangled Banner, but the fact that the flag still waves means that the enemy did not storm the fort (McHenry) and win the battle. For any who don’t know, a fortress under attack signals its surrender by lowering its flag. Speaking of Fort McHenry, it is a fort, made of walls meant to keep out invading foreigners.
