Today Joe Biden gave a press conference regarding the situation in Afghanistan. In short, it was an gigantic trainwreck.

As our readers know, we’ve written extensively on this over the last week. During Biden’s disastrously incompetent interview with ABC, he said that our troops, well over 7,000 of them after this weekend, would stay as long as it takes to get Americans home. In other words, stay past the August 31st deadline. However, Kate Bedingfield, the WH Comms Director said something entirely different just this morning. 

So which is it? Especially given that Biden, many so-called “experts” and jack weasels at the State Department are insisting that everything in Kabul and at the airport is peaceful and orderly…when there are credible reports demonstrating the complete and total opposite.

What doesn’t help is the following. 

A. Evacuation flights were paused because the processing center at Doha Qatar is overcrowded!

B. People with plans and resources (private jets) are begging to help and the US Government is telling them NO

C. Troops are asking to run missions to rescue Americans and Afghans like the British and French are doing and they are being told NO. 

Now on to the Biden stumble fumble press conference. To summarize what I just watched:

• The evacuation flights are resuming.
• Supposedly private charter flights ARE being allowed to arrive and depart with people on board.
• Overwatch was provided to the French to get their people from the Consulate to the airport, but not ours.
• 5,700 people have been evacuated in last couple of days, but they don’t know how many Americans are in country trying to get to the airport!
• 204 journalists from The NY Times, Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal were airlifted out earlier this week. Priorities Man!
• He thinks we can, with one runway and violence kicking up in Kabul and elsewhere, all 40, 50, 60,000 people out by August 31 – ELEVEN days from now!

Then it was time for VERY scripted questions. And the answers are: 

Taliban isn’t a terror threat, but ISIS and Al Quaeda are. DUDE! All three of them are working together!

Our allies are totally on our side and any reports that they are questioning our credibility are wrong. Yes, Biden said that. I refer you to Toni’s excellent post regarding the UK Parliament censure of Biden. I refer you to the EU, Germany, France, and others. So yes, that was a big fat LIE from Biden.

Here’s another lie, regarding the intelligence cable warning of all of this. 

An internal State Department memo last month warned top agency officials of the potential collapse of Kabul soon after the U.S.’s Aug. 31 troop withdrawal deadline in Afghanistan, according to a U.S. official and a person familiar with the document.

The classified cable represents the clearest evidence yet that the administration had been warned by its own officials on the ground that the Taliban’s advance was imminent and Afghanistan’s military may be unable to stop it.

Biden was very dismissive. 

Joe Biden confirmed the Wall Street Journal’s report that he received an internal state department memo last month warning of the possibility of a swift Taliban takeover in Afghanistan.

“We got all kinds of cables, all kinds of advice,” Biden said. “I made the decision. The buck stops with me.”

The president argued he had moved forward with the “consensus opinion” that Kabul would likely not fall to the Taliban until at least later in the year.

People have been warning of the Taliban’s advance for months or more. In fact, people warned about that as soon as it became known that Obama/Biden exchanged five Taliban terrorists for that piece of shit Bowe Bergdahl!

In regards to Afghan interpreter and his family. ‘We want you to get out and get to the airport so we can bring you home.’ But no resources to help GET them TO the airport! In other words, you are on your own.

See, the reason why there is no exterior perimeter says Biden? It’s dangerous for us so we’ve told our troops to stay in the airport!

I’m very glad that a reporter from NPR pushed back on this. Biden’s answer – the Tally Bahn is letting people through who have U.S. passports! PLUS 169 Americans got through two days ago so PLEASE CLAP!

Joe Biden reads scripted remarks about the horrific images coming out of Afghanistan to try to cover for the fact that we all saw him dismiss those images as being "four or five days ago" during his ABC News interview.

The entire press conference was unbelievable. As painful as it is, I urge all our readers to watch it in full.

Pay strict attention to the four questions that get asked. 

After a reporter asked Biden a question, Biden looked at his notes and said, “I thought the question was…”

Clarissa Ward of CNN has been IN Kabul this entire time. She is livid at Biden for essentially implying its super easy to get to the airport and then fly out.

Will they try to gaslight Jennifer Griffin as well?Jennifer has been in Afghanistan MULTIPLE times since 1993. She’s a reporters reporter with impeccable credentials. Her reaction to Biden’s speech was one I’ve never seen before. To be blunt, she was shocked and pissed at the sheer amount of lies Biden dropped during the press conference.

Again, will the White House try more gaslighting? You betcha. They’ll gaslight furiously while Biden called a lid five minutes after the press conference ended. 

These are the people who are in charge of one of the largest humanitarian hostage situations in the world. People are getting injured, families are in fear of their lives, and people WILL get killed. It’s just a matter of when. I hope and pray that that doesn’t happen, but given how the Biden JV team has bungled ALL of this, I’m so afraid it will.
