Just when Texans thought it was safe from the Robert Francis O’Rourke, good-ole Beta Beto calls in his “friends” in an attempt to turn the state blue. This time, the overgrown little boy with a skateboard will try to influence the good voters of the Lone Star State by bringing in the likes of Oprah, Bernie Sanders, Willie Nelson and Stacey Abrams to convince voters to turn their backs on not only President Trump but the Republican Party.
As a Texan, I wish I could say I hate to tell Beto that he’s barking up the wrong tree but that would be lying. I have no problem telling him that and would suggest he take a few steps back from his liberal “friends” and remember the values that made Texas into the great state it is.
Texas-sized voter phone bank with (get this!!!) @WillieNelson, @Oprah, @BernieSanders, @JulianCastro, @StaceyAbrams, @AndrewYang & MORE! We’ll call over 1 million Texas voters on the eve of Early Voting – sign up for a shift here: https://t.co/1nFumgj6tC

Of those he so enthusiastically announced, only Castro and Nelson are Texans. Castro might have made a halfway decent reputation for himself as mayor of San Antonio, but it wasn’t enough for him to make much headway in the state when he decided to move on to the national stage.
As for Willie. . . explain to me why I’m supposed to take his political opinion seriously?
So on Monday October 12th, we will host the Calling Texas: Million Voter Phone Bank, and we won’t be doing it alone,” O’Rourke says in an email obtained by The Dallas Morning News. “Here’s where the big news that I was telling you about comes in. We’ll be joined on the phone bank by (get this!!): Oprah Winfrey, Willie Nelson, Bernie Sanders, Julian Castro, Stacey Abrams and Andrew Yang, among others.”
So answer me this, Beto: why would anyone in this state where we welcome business and value personal freedom pay attention to Bernie Sanders who represents the antithesis of our state? The Vermont socialist has little, if anything, in common with the average Texan.
But, you have to give Beto one thing–he’s got a “diverse” group of celebs. So he’s made his own ilk happy.
Perhaps he ought to quit worrying about that and start worrying about making his potential consituents happy if he wants to get back into Texas politics. But, listening to him here, it sounds like he still has his eyes on national office.
Guess he thinks he can get on his skateboard and roll on. Good luck with that, buckoo.
As for Oprah, does she really think folks will react to her telling us who to vote for the same way her audience members reacted to her giving away gifts? Here’s a hint. We know better. We can read the data on Covid-19 and see that the areas with the worst infection and death rates are those areas under Democrat control. We see how well our economy has fared when, in other regions over the years, it has stunk.
Remember, Texas was once a republic unto itself. There are more folks than these celebs, both political and Hollywood-types, realize. People who would be happy for Texas to secede and become independent once again.
But Beto and company aren’t alone. For whatever reason, the Hollywood liberals think they know what’s best for us. Worse, they think we will listen to them and do as they say. We’ve seen it with the likes of Alyssa Milano, Shia LeBeouf, Cher and others. We learned recently that Gloria Steinem and Meghan Markle got together to call voters. Don’t forget, Markle has made barely veiled references about how she wants to see Trump defeated. When she appeared with Michelle Obama at an event a month or so ago, she said that if you don’t vote, “you’re complicit”. I’ll give you three guesses (and the first two don’t count) about what she meant.
This is not a case of “You get a car! And you get a car! And you get a car!”.
If we allow ourselves to be sucked into the nirvana Beto and friends offer, we’ll soon find ourselves in the same situation as those winners on Oprah’s show. We’ll have a wonderful promise with a price tag at the end. Those who won the car found themselves, iirc, looking at tax bills for the “gift”.
The price tag each of us will face if we let Beto and his celbrity friends sway us is much larger. It will be at the cost of our freedoms and our constitutional rights.
So, if your phone rings in a couple of days and you hear Oprah or Willie or Bernie or any of the others on the other end, don’t fall for their slick words and oh-so-sincere delivery. Remember what they actually stand for.
Hold your values and your ideals close and vote using not just your heart but your head. That is the only way we have any hope of preserving our Republic.

Unfortunately there’s a lot of leftists in TX, and the school system is trying to make more.
Heritage and attitude won’t keep TX free if it’s not backed up by moral education, critical thinking, and a proper understanding of freedom. And lots of guns. OK, Texas has that part down.
