The obsession that the entire Biden family has with the life, death, and legacy of Beau Biden is near-pathological.
Truly, the entire clan needs a decent therapist to work out their grief and loss, instead of perpetually parading out their emotions on the national stage for their political benefit and our everlasting cringe. Yes, it is a sad story and a tragic story that Beau Biden died of a brain tumor at age 46, and his death clearly had a dramatic and overwhelming effect on his entire family. Joe Biden often cites Beau’s death as his inspiration to run for president, and has said before that if Beau had lived, he would have been president.
The more cynical storyline goes that Beau Biden, who currently stands untouched by the financial payoffs that have ensnared the rest of the family, eventually including his own widow, was deliberately kept away from uncle Jim and brother Hunter’s shady business selling access to Old Joe, so that he could be president one day, completely unaware of the family corruption. Remember the scene in “The Godfather” where Vito tells Michael that he makes no apologies for what he has done, but didn’t want this life for Michael – that he wanted Michael to be respectable and powerful, but will now end up being the head of the crime family instead? Well, the Biden family is the story of what happened if Michael died of cancer before Vito died, and Fredo ended up taking over the family business. Hunter is a colossal screw up and a pig of a human. Every chance that he has been given to do the right thing, he inevitably tries to dodge it. He’s now well older than Beau was when he died, and he’s still living in the shadow of his older brother.
From all accounts, Beau Biden was a decent man who served his country honorably, and then died an early tragic death from cancer. And his memory deserves better than his senile father trying to drape himself in some Gold Star stolen valor.

President Biden told US forces stationed in Japan that his son Beau perished in the Iraq War, a video obtained exclusively by The Post reveals — after the president stoked questions about his own mental acuity by making the same incorrect claim at least twice last year.
“My son was a major in the US Army. We lost him in Iraq,” the 80-year-old president said during an informal visit with troops at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni on Thursday.
This is not the first time that Joe Biden has claimed that Beau Biden died in Iraq.
The cirumstances of the death of Beau Biden are so well known that it is not even something that the press can try and excuse for Old Joe. The best that the White House can do is simply not publish the blatant lie, and hope no one heard it.
The traveling press corps, which has faced repeated access issues while covering the nation’s oldest-ever president, was kept far enough away that the remarks were inaudible.
The White House press office did not put out an official transcript, almost allowing the error to escape public notice.
Biden said in October of last year that Beau “lost his life in Iraq” and claimed the following month that Iraq was “where my son died.”
In fact, the president’s son died of brain cancer in 2015 at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md.
Such glaring factual errors are a political liability for Biden, who is seeking a second term in 2024.
Joe Biden has often been caught red-handed outright lying about his family and his own personal background, but the changing of the circumstances of Beau’s death is much more troubling and has evolved in real time in the glare of the cameras. We all know Beau Biden died of cancer. This was something that Joe talked about repeatedly, and led to Barack Obama putting him in charge of the so-called “cancer moonshot” initiative – something which Joe has tried to revive. But then Joe started openly speculating that Beau’s cancer could have been caused by “burn pits” in Iraq. Because that speculation doesn’t change the material circumstances in Beau’s death, Joe’s comments were not truly a problem, even if the speculation felt stretched.
But then the story “evolved,” and the origins for that change may lie in the catastrophic suicide attack at the Kabul airport during the disastrous withdrawl from Afghanistan. Thirteen servicemembers were killed, and Joe Biden caught hell from their family members – not just for the watch-checking, but for connecting their grief to his loss of Beau.
(Mark) Schmitz (father of Marine Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz) added that his family’s own meeting with Biden prior to the ceremony “didn’t go well.”
“He talked a bit more about his own son [Beau Biden] than he did my son,” Schmitz said, “and that didn’t sit well with me.”
“When he just kept talking about his son so much, it was just — my interest was lost in that. I was more focused on my own son than what happened with him and his son,” Schmitz told the Washington Post. “I’m not trying to insult the president, but it just didn’t seem that appropriate to spend that much time on his own son.”
This took place at the end of August 2021. It was inappropriate, but it wasn’t Gold Star stolen valor. The “died in Iraq” story is first heard on October 12, 2022 (as can be seen in the video above), and has now been repeated twice – once in November 2022, and now again while Biden was in Japan.
The death of Beau Biden was undoubtedly devastating to Joe. But in his cognitive decline, he has gone from talking openly about defeating the cancer that took his son’s life, to wondering if that cancer came from his tour in Iraq, to talking to grieving and angry Gold Star Families about how he understands their grief because Beau died, to saying that Beau Biden died in Iraq. I don’t even think Joe is intentionally lying at this point. I think that his brain is Swiss cheese and that he now has made this progression to dementia-aided Gold Star stolen valor over the course of just a few years. Which is a big deal, because he is currently president of the United States, and running for re-election.
Will the media dare to point out the “evolution” of Beau’s death and that Grandpa Joe is quite obviously slipping on the basic facts of a story that was played out on the national stage? Of course not! They are firmly committed to covering for the old man (with rare exceptions), no matter how much brain matter he has lost. But Beau Biden deserves to rest in peace, and not be constantly resurrected by his declining father to boost his street cred, and having the circumstances of his death changed to an outright lie. That Jill, or anyone else in the Biden family, won’t put a stop to this farce of letting Joe run again, speaks volumes to their own personal ambitions.

All politicians are liars. Some better at it than others. Joe is just bad at it.
I’m not buying the Beau the Innocent story. I’d be willing to bet that he was neck deep in the family business. He was just smart enough that he could hold an actual job. I remember reading an article about him being involved in buying a company and James bragging that planes loaded with cash would line up because Joe was VP. Beau was trying to reign him in because he was Attorney General for DE at the time and didn’t want James saying the quiet part out loud.
I have a feeling Beau was as dirty as anyone else in that family but he was able to hide it better.
