Bass Apologizes For Taking Anti-LGBTQ Stance

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher, Anthony Bass, is walking back a post he recently made on Instagram.

According to this, Anthony Bass was “not sorry enough”, according to Blue Jays manager John Schneider. This leaves us with the question, did Bass apologize or did his manager make him?

This apology occurred after Bass posted a video regarding the Biblical reason Christians should boycott companies such as Target and products such as Bud Light. The video was initially posted by Ryan Miller, who uses the handle “dudewithgoodnews”, who describes his content as “daily devotional.”

Here’s the reason biblically why I believe Christians have gotta be boycotting Target, Bud Light, and any other corporation that’s pushing the things they’re pushing”-Ryan Miller, AKA dudewithgoodnews

Miller quotes Ephesians 5:

Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness but instead expose them, for it is shameful to even talk of the things they do in secret.

Anthony Bass made the mistake of sharing this video, which made his manager throw a hissy fit. Why? Could it be the big Pride Weekend celebration the Blue Jays are hosting on June 9th where the first 15,000 people to enter the stadium get a Blue Jays rainbow flag jersey?

Bass has since backpedaled with his short apology but claims he is doing more “work” and using the Blue Jays’ resources to “educate himself or something:

As of right now, I am using the Blue Jays’ resources to better educate myself to make better decisions moving forward. The ballpark is for everybody. We include all fans at the ballpark. We want to welcome everybody. That’s all I have to say.”-Anthony Bass

Resources? Blue Jays’ manager, John Schneider is not letting up on the pitcher, though. A simple “my bad” for a few seconds on TV is not going to do it.

It’s not going to be a 15 or 30-second apology and say, ‘OK, I did my part,’ There’s going to be continued work with the resources we do have to try to show that he’s understanding that he made a mistake.

We’re going to continue to make the Rogers Center a very welcoming place for everyone to come to. It doesn’t reflect our views as an organization.”-Toronto Blue Jays Manager, John Schneider

A Biblical view of one player does not reflect “the views of an organization”? Let that sink in.

But being a “celebrated” group of deviants is a good thing? Good to know. Anthony Bass posted an Instagram story that included a Bible verse and a man’s opinion. Nothing more. If he, himself does not want to drink Bud Light or shop at Target, that’s his prerogative. Now, Bass has backed himself into a corner; looking like a coward to some for apologizing and for what? The mob still is going to hate his guts. Earning millions a year can do that to a person, I suppose.

God forbid a ball player alludes to not supporting the LGBTQ+ agenda. Host a game and honor individuals mocking Catholics and Christianity? It’s all good for the LA Dodgers. This may also cost Trevor Williams of The Washington Nationals:

Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers also disagreed with the Sisters’ appearance. And Blake Treinen, also of the Dodgers, had this to say:

Well, dang. Looks as if Anthony Bass could have taken a cue from some of his peers. But, no. He “apologized”. Can’t have a Pride Month with a pitcher who may disagree. That is not welcoming. Honoring a group of gay guys who dress up as nuns dancing around a stripper pole for “Jesus”? Totally welcoming, don’t you think? These are the “educated” people. The cerebral ones, dancing around that stripper pole for a wholesome family night of fun at the ball park.

Oh, right. Silly me. A bunch of gay drag queens mocking Christians is more nuanced than this. The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are a group that just “uses humor and irreverent wit” to get their point across. Not only did they get uninvited and then invited again to the Dodger’s game to receive an award for this “humor and irreverent wit”, they will be honored by the California Senate for the “lifesaving work they have done tirelessly for decades”!

That’s if “Sister Roma” of the group can squeeze it in “her” busy schedule between reviewing gay porn and working in the adult film industry:

For almost 20 years Roma has worked in the adult industry and currently serves as Art Director for NakedSword/Falcon Studios Group. Her sharp wit and stunning beauty make her the perfect host of NakedSword’s Tim & Roma show, as well as a regular fixture hosting adult industry events and red carpets from the Cybersocket Awards and GAYVNs in Los Angeles to Chicago’s Grabby Awards. “-The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence

Lifesaving work. Done tirelessly. The ballpark is for everybody.

While a rainbow flag jersey is tame compared to honoring The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, we’re happy some players are taking a stand. And, poor Anthony Bass. He just signed up for John Schneider’s re-education camp. Hope that salary of his is worth it. Buy us some peanuts and Cracker Jack, I don’t think we’re ever going back to normal.

We were better off when they were in the closet and not bothering people.

Bass may not have had much of a choice in the matter, legally. Canada’s laws have been turning ever more tyranical the past few decades. Their views on Free Speech are much more restrictive than in the US.
