Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear got a primetime speaking slot at the DNC last night. Why? Because he was on the short list for vice president for Kamala Harris, and when he didn’t get it, this was a consolation prize.
The real reason Andy Beshear didn’t get picked by Kamala and her campaign was probably because he didn’t bring anything to the ticket that Tim Walz couldn’t give them, and the “nepotism” label is firmly plastered on Beshear’s ass. You see, his father was also governor of Kentucky for eight years, the rare Democrat elected in a red state. Beshear the younger has been a typical leftist Democrat who pandered to black voters during the pandemic, yet was reelected in 2023. And as the rumors swirled that Andy Beshear was on the VP short list, he tried to make his bones by attacking J.D. Vance. Vance had mentioned Kentucky during his RNC speech as part of his family’s origin story, where the family cemetery is located, and where he hopes to be buried himself someday. Well, Andy Beshear tried attacking him on that front, and it didn’t stick.

The DNC has been exposed as having a HUGE problem with J.D. Vance. Tim Walz keeps pounding on the fact that Vance went to Yale, as if that makes him less “poor” and less “Midwestern” than the Real And Only Midwestern Dad™ Tim Walz. Of course, Vance first enlisted in the Marines, then went to Ohio State University and Yale Law School with the help of the GI Bill. Vance was no “legacy admission” to Yale. But that isn’t stopping Democrats’ complaints. Apparently, Vance should have “known his place” and stayed poor and not gone to Yale to rub shoulders with their little legacy darlings.
Lot of people dumping on this seem to not get that their entire governing point of power depends on people remaining put and remaining poor. https://t.co/gZXrCr4Frs

But the DNC had so many issues last night, that the insult to J.D. Vance got buried as the night went on and Joe Biden finished his speech after midnight on the East Coast, after cranking the volume to eleven and yelling out his “Greatest Lies Album” where he repeated every slander he could remember abour Donald Trump (there was no “JOY!” during that speech). Even though Andy Beshear got more of a primetime slot than the supposed “man of the hour” Joe Biden, his speech was ultimately unnecessary and could have been cut to save time. Though he did try for the “pious and sanctimonious” tack by lecturing the entire hall about abortion, and then trying to tell the story of the “Good Samaritan” by claiming that the parable says that we are all “neighbors” – unless, presumably, you’re pro-life. We all know the Democrats’ “big tent” no longer extends to pro-life Democrats. Beshear is instead calling abortion a “constitutional right” and blaming Trump for picking the Supreme Court justices that repealed Roe v. Wade.
“Folks, Donald Trump appointed the Supreme Court justices who got us into this mess. His Project 2025 goes even further. Here’s the thing: Trump and Vance simply don’t believe in your freedom,” Beshear said in Chicago.
“Trump says people are ‘absolutely thrilled’ that women have had their basic rights eliminated. JD Vance says women should stay in violent marriages — and that pregnancies resulting from rape are simply ‘inconvenient,’” Beshear continued. “Their policies give rapists more rights than their victims. That’s not inconvenient, it’s just plain wrong.”
Beshear was referring to comments Trump made at a Wisconsin rally in May, when he said that “basically the states decide on abortion, and people are absolutely thrilled with the way that’s going on.”
He was also referencing comments Vance has made regarding no-fault divorce and abortion exceptions.
While speaking about no-fault divorce in 2021, Vance said, “This is one of the great tricks that I think the sexual revolution pulled on the American populace, which is the idea that, like, ‘Well, OK, these marriages were fundamentally, you know, they were maybe even violent, but certainly they were unhappy. And so getting rid of them and making it easier for people to shift spouses like they change their underwear, that’s going to make people happier in the long term.”
Also in 2021, Vance was asked about rape and incest exceptions for abortion, saying at one point, “At the end of the day, we’re talking about an unborn baby. What kind of society do we want to have? A society that looks at unborn babies as inconveniences to be discarded?”
So, J.D. Vance didn’t call a pregnancy by rape “inconvenient.” He asked if we should see THE BABY as an “inconvenience to be discarded.” And it is a moral question that Democrats don’t like to consider. They who generally hate the death penalty for any crime, have no problem pronouncing a death penalty on a baby for the “crime” of being conceived during a rape. (And before this devolves in the comments – yes, I know two women who were raped and became pregnant. One is a family member, one was a roommate of a friend. One chose to keep her baby, raised that child, and now the child has a family of their own. One chose to give her baby up for adoption. Neither option was an easy one, or one that was made lightly. But both chose life.)
But apparently, Andy Beshear – who proclaimed his faith during his speech, remember – has no problem wishing the horrors of rape on J.D. Vance’s family on “Morning Joe” today.
Beshear’s comment came during a discussion about abortion access and the first night of the Democratic National Convention.
“And some of the other examples you mentioned are very common, ectopic pregnancies, pregnancies that are non-viable. And what’s happening to women now is that instead of getting the health care they need through abortion health care, they are being left sterilized and traumatized. And these are real stories that are happening across America right now,” said host Mika Brzezinski.
“So Americans already for the most part, agree that abortion should be available, but now they’re seeing the ramifications of the overturning of Roe, which should be pretty inspiring come election day. And then on the right, governor, you have, you have Republican candidates and Republicans talking about babies being aborted at nine months. Can you even make sense of their argument?” she asked Beshear.
“It’s just fear tactics and it’s just lying to people. I mean, think about what what some people have had to go through because of these laws,” replied the governor. “I mean, JD Vance calls pregnancy resulting from rape inconvenient. Like inconvenience is traffic. I mean, it is- make him go through this!” exclaimed Beshear.
“Make him go through this”??? So, Andy Beshear wants J.D. Vance to experience a pregnancy through rape? And since Vance is a man, that means someone in his family.
What the hell is this?
Why is @AndyBeshearKY wishing that a member of my family would get raped?!?
What a disgusting person. https://t.co/11Kp1h92MN

So, not only is Andy Beshear a nepo baby governor who poses as a sanctimonious prig, but is also a snotnosed weasel who wishes a violent crime would happen to his political opponents. WOW, SO CLASSY. SO MUCH “LOVING YOUR NEIGHBOR,” AM I RIGHT? Remember, Vance said THE BABY should not be seen as an “inconvenience to be discarded,” not the pregnancy. Beshear, who speaks so flippantly about rape, has twisted that very rational question about the status of a child to suit his own political narrative.
Hey, Kentucky – you good with this? Your governor has a very ugly little soul and a very entitled attitude. And the sooner he is off the national stage, the better.

As long as democrats stay in power, the murder of children, the rape of women and the burning of cities are a minor inconvenience to be ignored.
I am starting to think that the government should have made the Democrat Party illegal after the Civil War.
God bless those ladies who chose life.
The Democrat Convention has and abortion/vasectomy van. The Democrats are the anti-life party.
Democrats can’t help themselves. They’re virtually incapable of telling the truth. They either make lies up out of whole cloth, or twist and selectively edit the truth to turn it into a lie. They are truly reprehensible.
