On the heels of Trump’s address and remarks on illegal immigration, The New York Post published an opinion piece from NYC mayor, Eric Adams.
Adams stated that as a former police officer for 22 years, that there’s just got to be a way to be a sanctuary city and keep crime under control.
Huh?!
Tomorrow, I will be testifying before the United States Congress on how under our administration’s leadership, New York City can continue to reduce crime, even as a ‘sanctuary city,’ and how big-city mayors can add sense back into governing.
It starts with standing firm in rejecting the misperception that a ‘sanctuary city’ classification means our city will ever be a safe haven for violent criminals.”-Eric Adams
But it was (and still is) a safe haven for violent criminals, Eric. Violent criminals who throw people off of subway platforms and burn other human beings to death on the trains. Eric Adams may say he wants a “safe” New York but, he is still seemingly talking out of both sides of this mouth here to save face.
That’s because, as mayor, I do not control who enters or remains in our country, but I do have to manage the population that is within our city. In order to carry out this function without having long-term negative ramifications, I must create an atmosphere that allows every law-abiding resident, documented or not, to access vital services without fear of being turned over to federal authorities.”-Eric Adams
Excuse me? Law abiding documented or not? Here’s a legit question, straight up: If you’re not documented…are you law abiding? Gang members are violent and not law-abiding. And yes, some are here illegally and are undocumented. For instance, the low-life who hopped the fence and killed Laken Riley:
Laken was stolen from us by a savage, illegal alien gang member who was arrested while trespassing across Biden’s southern border and then sent to the United States under the heartless policies of that failed administration.
It was indeed a failed administration.”-Donald J. Trump
Mr. Adams, see also the story of 12 year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, whose life was ended too soon by a couple of scumbags. Allowing Tren de Aragua members access over our borders and putting them up in hotel rooms or migrant camps in your city on taxpayers’ dime, where they can complain about the food served to them or, worse, go out and rape or kill young women is the direct result of the sanctuary city concept.
Yet, Eric Adams is still arguing for comprehensive immigration reform? I think we are beyond this concept at this particular juncture. We need to get the gang members OUT of New York, Denver, Atlanta and wherever else they ended up on Biden’s watch, first. And, let’s not forget, they got to New York on Adams’ watch, too.
Nearly four decades later, our country still has not passed comprehensive immigration reform and, as a result, New York City was hit with the largest humanitarian crisis in our city’s history over the last three years.
Since the spring of 2022, our city has seen over 232,000 migrants arrive in our city asking for shelter — that’s a population larger than Rochester, N.Y., Columbus, Ohio, and Tallahassee, Fl.”-Eric Adams
In the spring of 2022-when Joe Biden was president.
I cannot have a city where parents are afraid to send their children to school or where children are sleeping on the streets — creating the potential for child exploitation and sex trafficking.”-Eric Adams
You also cannot have a city where parents are worried about their children falling victim to violent and senseless gang activity committed by individuals who are not supposed to be here. This creates the potential for exploitation, rape, and yes, even murder. But wait, there’s more.
If an undocumented person refuses to seek medical care until they have a medical emergency, our city’s health care system will be strained.”-Eric Adams
I would be willing to bet New York City’s health care system was already strained before all of the illegals came in. And, there needs not be an emergency for the system to be already strained. Who is paying for their healthcare?
And if an undocumented individual witnesses a crime but is afraid to call 911 for fear of being turned over to federal authorities, criminals will roam free.”-Eric Adams
Last year, at this time, Eric Adams actually called for an end to Sanctuary Cities:
I don’t believe people who are violent in our city and commit repeated crimes should have the privilege. You don’t have the right to be in our city and tarnish the overwhelming number who are here following the rules.”-NYC Mayor, Eric Adams
This is what he said then. What Eric Adams is saying now is more about saving face with the Democrats who want him out next election cycle.
Some may be wondering what happened to the guy who defended working with Trump and the “tough guy”, talking to whomever else he wants, whenever he wants as mayor of New York City? Where was that boldness and that courage to make a significant change? There was a glimmer of hope for a while there, but…
…we all know. He’s a typical Democrat.
Ummm, when you’re providing “sanctuary” to law-breakers, no you can’t actually call yourself a “crime fighting” city, Skippy.
And if an undocumented individual witnesses a crime but is afraid to call 911 for fear of being turned over to federal authorities, criminals will roam free.
This has ALWAYS been a bulls**t claim. If they’re afraid of being deported for being a good neighbor then they’re even more afraid of being hurt (or reported) by the miscreants for making that phone call. As are the actual Americans refusing to make that call. And that means they’re really refusing because you’re doing a lousy job of tamping down crime.
We need more Bernhard Goetz types in that city.
