A heatwave was baking the nation on Saturday, from the East Coast through the Midwest, but that didn’t stop supporters of illegal immigration from throwing their tantrums.

No, thousands rallied across the US in “Keep Families Together” protests to oppose President Trump’s immigration policies.

Actually, they were really displaying their deep-down hatred for the President, but hey, any old excuse for a party, right?

Oh, and news flash! They not only want to allow illegal immigrants to stay. They want to abolish ICE, too.

Like the aptly named Illinois Senator “Dick” Durbin, who called ICE “a group of incompetents.”

And the New York City chapter of the “Democratic Socialists of America,” who pretty much want to abolish everything:

You know, I hear Venezuela is nice this time of year. . . .

And then there was this idiot who made the ridiculous claim that ‘we are all immigrants,’ but couldn’t even spell “immigrants” correctly:

“Imma let you finish, but then Immi Rant about how we’re all immirants.”

Um, no, I’m not an immigrant. Were you born in the United States? Then you’re not an immigrant, either.

However, my husband and I have dear friends who came from South and Central America. Moreover, they came here the legal way.

The husband — we’ll call him “Ricardo”– was about five when he came here from Nicaragua. His father was so determined to become an American that he enlisted in the United States military. An ambitious man, he also became an engineer.

Ricardo’s wife, “Maria,” was older — she was 16 when she came with her family from Colombia. Now even though Maria’s father, a doctor, completed the paperwork necessary to emigrate, he never made the trip. He died of illness when Maria was 11, and left his widow with four children and a baby on the way.

The family did not leave Colombia, and eventually the permits expired. Yet Maria’s mother began the onerous process all over again, and they finally made it to the United States.

And guess what! The government didn’t split either family apart when they arrived! Imagine that!

All are now proud, naturalized citizens.

Then there’s this young man. His name is Tawsif Anam, and he is a legal immigrant from Bangladesh. He also loves being an American citizen.

Here he is addressing a group in his home state of Wisconsin:

Here Tawsif tells us why the country needs ICE. Hint: they do a lot more than the idiot protesters think. And no, they’re not the “Gestapo.”

Now let’s consider how Saturday’s open borders crowd insulted Tawsif Anam and our friends Ricardo and Maria, and their families.

Here these good people spent enormous amounts of time and money to become Americans. They took the long, slow path through the immigration line. Yet the protestors tell us that if illegals manage to cross the border, they should be just as legit. And, by extension, legal immigrants are fools for going through all that effort and expenditure to live in the United States when they could’ve just waltzed across the border.

It’s rather like the poor schlub who stands in line for hours so he can buy season tickets for his favorite team, and then sees a bus unload a bunch of people at the head of the line. Not only would he be angry — and rightfully so — he’d also feel like he was being taken for a fool.

What an insult! Likewise, what an insult it is to legal immigrants if illegals are allowed to enter the US without going through the immigration process.

But there’s also this: Byron York in the Washington Examiner notes some nuggets from a recent poll. It seems that sixty-four percent of Americans say that people who cross the border illegally should be sent home — and that includes 47% of Democrats. Furthermore, it doesn’t make much difference if a border crosser came with a child in tow: 61% want to send them back.

The biggest rub came with the separation of children from parents — 88% oppose that. However, remember that the Trump administration is no longer following this policy, anyway. So the new immigration policy isn’t the draconian Nazi strategy the protesters think it is, is it?

But let’s go back to Tawsif Anam and our friends Ricardo and Maria, shall we?

Tawsif, as it turns out, says he’s a “conservative Republican.”  And Ricardo and Maria are conservative supporters of President Trump.

Now that makes perfect sense, doesn’t it?

    Abolish Gestapo ICE
    *smdh*
You know, I was called a NAZI as a kid. (Kids are cruel, and I have a very German nickname.) They did it better than you people. And they were 8yo. Seriously, people, get your big boy pants/big girl skirts on and up your game. This is just pathetic.

who called ICE “a group of incompetents.”
Well, for once, I might also agree with Dick. But not for the same reasons. (They’re still having trouble tracking down visa over-stayers.) But you can safely say that about *any* government agency with some degree of truth.

Oh, do note that the DSA wants to abolish private prisons, according to the lists I’ve seen. They’re still idiots, but it’s an important distinction. (Of course, they want to abolish private enterprise, too, so……)

Here he is addressing a group in his home state of Wisconsin:
ISWYDT. 🙂 But it’s very true. For those who come here legally, this IS their home now. (Which is why I hate dual-citizenship – because those people are NOT making this their home.)

by extension, legal immigrants are fools for going through all that effort and expenditure
Well, all you people that work for nice things are fools to go to all that effort and expenditure, when all you really have to do is go to the nice part of town with a screwdriver, a ski mask, and a sack.

If I’m out of a job soon, I might just make a career out of living on a micro scale like these people advocate for on a macro scale. I’ll simply find one of these rich celebrities who advocates for open borders, and move into their house. Logical consistency would demand they simply let me live there, right? Right?

Do these useless idiots really believe that the precious immigrant aka future democrat voters and their poor downtrodden crying children will give a rat’s ass about them when they are the majority?
Don’t we have enough Americans that need care and assistance, do they move to the back of the line?

  • George V says:

I’m waiting for all these advocates of the illegal immigrant “families” to head down to the border, pick up a family, take them into their home to house, feed, and clothe them, provide medical care and education. I am especially waiting for the progressive politicians to do so.

Yesterday a local congresswoman, Debbie Dingell, was speaking (well, more like yellin’ an’ hollerin’) at one of these rallies. Mrs. Dingell, if this is a problem, where is your legislative solution? Instead of coming back to the local crowd to lead the whoopin’ and yellin’, shouldn’t you be cozied up in Washington with your staff drafting some legislative proposals?
