Earlier this week, Twitter suspending the account of blogger Robert Stacy McCain, a prominent conservative who takes no prisoners and is beloved in the conservative blogosphere. The outrage over his account being suspended was swift and loud, with even some liberal bloggers expressing dismay. The reason so many were angry is because the only reason McCain’s Twitter account was suspended is because he’s a vocal conservative whose opinions bother some thin-skinned liberal crybabies. Then Stacy announced that his account will not be restored, and the account he created last year to promote his book was also suspended. He has his own suspicions as to why this is happening:

Hello,
Your account was suspended because it was found to be violating the Twitter Rules (https://twitter.com/rules), specifically our rules around participating in targeted abuse.
Your account will not be restored.
Thanks,

Well, what is “targeted abuse,” what constitutes “participating” in this behavior, and what are the “rules around” it? Where is the evidence that I have been “violating the Twitter Rules”? Who was “targeted”? What was the nature of the “abuse”? Questions like this multiply, you see, if we can be permitted to ask questions of the arbiters of “Twitter Rules,” but that’s just it: No questions allowed!
… I blame the
public educationgovernment indoctrination system. Earlier today I got a phone call from a faculty member at a university (which I will not name) who spent 30 minutes telling me the absolute insanity that now prevails on campus. The students are ignorant of facts, but very certain of their opinions, all of which are liberal, and this is a religion for them. For many years, the public K-12 schools have been promoting a progressive agenda through their curriculum and policies, and children are taught to value intellectual abstractions (i.e., “equality,” “diversity,” etc.) to such a degree that they are incapable of thinking outside those categories. They arrive on campus with minds full of this ideological nonsense, and are unprepared to deal with contradictory facts or opposing arguments. Feminists like Anita Sarkeesian are incapable of defending themselves in a fair debate against a well-informed critic, and so the critics must be silenced. This is why the First Rule of Feminist is, “SHUT UP!”
There’s much more at the link. Make sure to check it out.
The whole issue boils down to the #GamerGate feminazis, who were led by Harpy-in-Chief Anita Sarkeesian. Sarkeesian was recently named to Twitter’s ominous-sounding “Trust and Safety Council”… and McCain has been very vocal in his opposition to the #GamerGate, and about Sarkeesian in particular. McCain tweeted things that made Sarkeesian mad, and therefore, he had to go. First Amendment? Who cares about that? Much more important that Sarkeesian and her band of shrews make Twitter into their own personal “safe space” where anyone she doesn’t like isn’t allowed.
How is it that Twitter can allow this to happen, that a bitter woman be given the platform to blackball her critics simply because she doesn’t agree with their opinions? And who, exactly, voted to make Sarkeesian the Queen of Twitter? Who said that Twitter needs to become a safe space for screeching feminazis to ban any ideas they personally find offensive? It makes you wonder how Jack Dorsey, Twitter CEO, can send something like this out without immediately bursting into lie-induced flames. Freedom? Speaking truth to power? Please. Apparently, speaking truth to power is only allowed if liberal harpies like Sarkeesian allow it.
Twitter stands for freedom of expression, speaking truth to power, and empowering dialogue. That starts with safety. https://t.co/PbEoM1lCyb

Hey Jack? There’s nothing empowering or free about banning anyone whose political opinions you disagree with.
First Amendment? Who cares about that?
There’s no First Amendment issue here. None. The gov’t is not censoring opinions in the least.
And who, exactly, voted to make Sarkeesian the Queen of Twitter?
Well, it appears that the people that own Twitter did so.
Sorry. I know this issue is important and goes hand-in-hand with progs trying to stifle speech with gov’t censorship, too. But I have to make the above distinctions. Twitter has every right to do this (as long as they aren’t violating any contract), stupid as it might be.
