The most recent GOP Debate was held Saturday night in Greenville, South Carolina amid the shocking news of the death of Supreme Court Justice and defender of the written Constitution Justice Antonin Scalia. CBS began the evening with a Moment of Silence for Justice Scalia.
The debate was held at The Peace Center in Greenville, South Carolina with moderators Major Garrett and John Dickerson of CBS News and Kimberly Strassel of the Wall Street Journal. The six 2016 Republican Presidential candidates invited to participate were businessman Donald J. Trump, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, Neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and Ohio Governor John Kasich.
Amid questions about appointing a replacement for the newly deceased Antonin Scalia, #HolyInappropriateBatman, Ted Cruz got into a dust up with John Dickerson over whether Justice Anthony Kennedy was appointed in 1987 or 1988. The audience booed and…
Marco Rubio gave a beautiful tribute to Justice Scalia and our Constitution.
Get your popcorn ready.

The Jeb Bush/Donald Trump mud wrestling continued apace.

During the discussion on illegal immigration Donald Trump said that Jeb Bush wanted to moon people. No really. It happened.
Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz went after each other on immigration and amnesty.
The moderators had no control over this lunchroom food fight. They may have been out popping their own popcorn.
The moderators let Trump and Bush play nasty with each other all they wanted. Trump’s make up matched the red background at the beginning and he got redder and redder as the night went on. Jeb always looks like a 13 year old boy trying to be a man.
John Kasich and Ben Carson were so out of their depths. They couldn’t play with the big kids and it showed. They need to suspend their campaigns…yesterday.
The winner in my book was Marco Rubio. Robotic, hardly. He was passionate, strong and true. Ted Cruz was a very distant second.
The moderators failed to control the fights they started. But it was still the best GOP debate ever.
If you feel the need to watch the whole thing, here it is.
It was indeed a schoolyard brawl for sure. Yes there was a lot covered …but the antics of ALL the twelve teens overshadowed the very real issues and the seismic change that the untimely passing of Justice Scalia bode for us all…

The fight over Iraq was one the GOP desperately needed to have. Good on Trump for bringing it up in such a passionate way. The Bush Admin never did deal with the missing WMD issue, and it’s been like a rotting, dead skunk under the GOP’s house ever since.
