President Trump, love him or hate him, has stripped away any pretense of Americanism from Democrats and other leftists. For them, “Democracy” is only legitimate when Democrats win. Patriotism? Nope, Democrats are not having any as long as any Republican is in the Oval Office.
We’ve seen this play from Democrats over and over again. Each Republican is “Hitler” while in office and later rehabilitated as an example of statesmanship … once they leave office or die.
This psychosis is on full display, whether it is that a whopping 73% of Democrats will not fly the American flag this July 4th Semiquincentennial or the hissy-fits and vandalizing over the White House’s continued efforts to spruce up and restore the fountains, monuments and memorials across D.C.
“Around 7:20 a.m. this morning, the U.S. Park Police was notified by the National Park Service of approximately 15-by-30-foot ‘8647’ graffiti spray-painted in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool,” a spokesperson for the agency told the Washington Examiner. (snip)
National Park Service police said the vandalism was “unacceptable and will not be tolerated on federal lands,” adding that the “affected area has been secured and covered while cleanup is arranged.”
“An active investigation is underway, and those responsible will be identified and held fully accountable,” the agency added.

Republicans have, for a long time, separated their love of the nation from what happens inside The Beltway or whomever is occupying state capitals or mayoral offices. Politics has never been their religion or identity. They cheer unabashedly for Americans in the Olympics, line streets with American flags for returning troops or fallen first-responders. They don’t confuse nation with bureaucracy.
The success of FIFA in America right now — with all the fun of visitors from around the world discovery the real Americans who exist outside the extreme, deep blue urban centers — makes the Democrats “reluctance” to celebrate the nation look downright churlish.

“It’s not how I expected to feel” about the World Cup, he said a few weeks before the tournament. “I still want the U.S. team to win, but everything that goes with that? I’m conflicted.”
Oh, boo hoo. He’s conflicted. I didn’t feel “conflicted” about celebrating every July 4th, Veteran’s Day, Memorial Day, et al, during Barry Obama’s three terms. I certainly rooted for the Americans during both 2012 and 2016 Olympics and the thought of encouraging athletes to boycott the White House never crossed my mind.
So thank the lord, even in Moscow on the Puget, FIFA World Cup American fans turned out for a beautiful show of patriotism.

A true patriot says: OMG you are completely delusional. First of all, every single World Cup host city in the US is a blue city, or at least purple. So what visitors are seeing is all the hell holes you lot keep going on about being revealed as not as bad as you’ve been saying they are. Secondly, remind me which party threw such an absolute stinking fit about the 2020 election that there were MULTIPLE lawsuits and attempts to challenge or outright change the results? Plus people trashing the Capital and hunting the then VP? Because that sure as heck wasn’t the Democrats!
As for beautifying the capital… Well, let’s see: part of the White House is still a construction zone with no end in sight, beautiful gardens have been paved over with concrete, the Kennedy Center is shuttered and has tarp over the front, and the reflecting pool is full of algae with literal chunks of peeled “American Flag Blue” sealant floating to the surface. Oh and there was a white trash MMA fight on the White House lawn— that was delayed by storms!— and now the grass is brown and dead. I mean I guess you have a wildly different definition of “beatifying.”
You don’t own patriotism. The flag belongs to Democrats too and while there’s still pride in the good America can be, there is zero pride in what we’re representing at the moment. That’s true patriotism, not performative patriotism.
