Just yesterday, SCOTUS sided with a Christian counselor in Colorado and tossed out the state’s law banning conversion therapy.
The court delivered a major victory to therapist Kaley Chiles, a therapist who challenged the Colorado law, on the grounds of free speech.
The U.S. Supreme Court has overturned a freedom of speech case challenging Colorado’s statewide ban on conversion therapy for LGBTQ+ youth in an 8 to 1 decision, with Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson dissenting.
The outcome of the case means a rollback on conversion therapy bans across the nation.
Colorado’s Minor Conversion Therapy Law prohibits all mental health professionals in the state from attempting to change a client’s sexual orientation or gender identity during therapy sessions. It also imposes penalties for those violating the law, including a $5,000 fine and the potential loss of their license. “-CPR
Ketanji Brown Jackson was the only dissenter.
No one directly disputes that Colorado has the power to regulate the medical treatments that state-licensed professionals provide to patients. So, in my view, it cannot also be the case that Colorado’s decision to restrict a dangerous therapy modality that, incidentally, involves provider speech is presumptively unconstitutional.”-Ketanji Brown Jackson, SCOTUS
The SC got it wrong yet again. Every reputable entity in the world concerned with the health and well-being of children has noted that this form of therapy is harmful to kids. Saying it's a provider's right to use techniques on kids that we know do harm is twisted and wrong.

Did they (aside of KBJ, of course) get it wrong? Or are other “health care” providers getting it wrong?
According to our friends at NPR, “Conversion therapy is generally defined as a treatment used to change a person’s attraction to individuals of the same sex or to ‘cure’ gender dysphoria. The therapy has been forcefully repudiated by every major medical organization in the country, on grounds that the therapy doesn’t work and often leads to deep depression and suicidal thoughts and actions in minors.”
Writing for the court majority, Justice Neil Gorsuch said that the Colorado law, as applied to Chiles, “impermissibly regulated her speech by forbidding her from doing anything in her counseling that attempts to change a client’s sexual orientation or gender identity.”
This “dangerous therapy modality” that is “presumptively unconstitutional”, according to Ketanji Brown Jackson involves therapists, like Kaley Chiles, talking to children who desire to “transition”, and interrogating their biological reality.
Ummm…?

Back to this “dangerous therapy modality”. Wouldn’t you say, Ms. Jackson, that pumping children full of hormones and putting them under a knife for surgeries that will screw up their anatomy forever pose more of a risk than a therapist talking them (and their parents) off the ledge of insanity?
Children today are struggling with complex issues, and they need space to explore their feelings and concerns. Unfortunately, Colorado’s law pushes them toward harmful medical interventions like drugs and surgeries by prohibiting supportive conversations that could help them navigate their struggles in a healthier way.”-Kaley Chiles
Puberty is rough. Teenage years are rough. Adding harmful surgeries and drugs on top of the general struggles and anguish a young person endures is, in all honesty, irresponsible-especially without dialogue. Telling someone they can be someone/something they cannot is also very harmful.
It is cruel and should never be offered under the guise of legitimate mental healthcare. To undermine protections that keep kids and families safe from these abusive practices is shocking — and our children deserve better.”-Human Rights Campaign President Kelley Robinson
Cruel and abusive is cutting a kid’s genitals off, Kelley. But, Ms. Robinson also called Conversion Therapy “pseudoscience”. Funny coming from the crowd who cannot define what a man or a woman is.
So therapy that helps kids accept their perfectly healthy bodies and biological realities is the “conversion” while radical drugs and surgery is “affirming.” You people are all crazy.

Anyone who has been to therapy knows a therapist’s job is to look at the situation at hand and analyze, without bias. That is their job. Typically, they analyze the behavior of the patient and make recommendations. They cause the patient to inquire where the behavior stems from, and make suggestions/recommendations on how to modify the behavior so that it is not harmful to them and others around them. The person still has free will.
I remember when I was a young girl. Wonder Woman starring Lynda Carter was a popular show at the time. Diana Prince was smart, beautiful and powerful. I so wanted to be Wonder Woman when I grew up-fly around in an invisible airplane, change outfits by spinning in circles, ward off bullets with my bracelets and, my, oh, my! That magic lasso that made men tell the truth would have come in handy in my 20s….
I did not go to therapy for my childhood fantasy but did spend time talking with a therapist during certain junctures of my life-just to get an unbiased, professional opinion. Sometimes, sitting in a therapist’s chair involves revealing inconvenient truths about oneself or one’s motivations-AKA-calling a person on their own sh*t. The truth does sting, sometimes. Case in this point, puberty blockers wreck a person’s bone structure. Transition surgeries make people infertile. Making honest inquiries and attempting to possibly talk a young person out of this tragic existence is “cruel and abusive”, according to these loons. It’s “pseudoscience”. It’s “dangerous”.
If you take away the ability of states to protect patients from substandard care, then you’re opening the door to all sorts of discredited treatments. For generations, states have set and enforced standards to ensure that licensed professionals provide safe and appropriate care.”-Attorney General Phil Weiser
Substandard care is what these medical professionals are providing these kids. And it is far from safe or “protecting” children. The left wants the general public to believe that Conversion Therapy causes suicidal ideation amongst trans children. That telling a kid the truth, telling a kid “no”, is going to completely break their spirit and cause them to self-harm. That brutally honest inquiry is dangerous and harmful. Hell, why not just let kids do drugs and drink excessively? Getting them to change their behavior is harmful and dangerous. Talking them out of wrecking their lives is substandard care and cruel. The left wants anyone who believes in them to know having meaningful discussions with children about their life choices based on a current trend will also cause them to lose the will to live.
You know what else causes suicidal ideation? Realizing you have done irreparable damage to your body. Worse? When that internal anguish and pain becomes so unbearable, you want to take it out on others.
Cue the clueless governor of Colorado for his two cents on this:
Colorado is for everyone…as long as they follow the liberal agenda.

Illegals? Criminals? Groomers? Medical professionals who want to castrate children and profit off the misery? Where are you all at? Colorado is for everyone. Christian counselors? Shut up and step aside.
