Mamdani Appoints Antisemitism Czar

Zohran Mamdani is making appointments just because he is now Mayor of New York City and because he can.

We’ve had Cea “White, Middle-Class Homeowners are racist”, Weaver. He then names kid’s YouTube sensation, Ms. Rachel to his “inauguration committee”. Now, he has chosen an Antisemitism czar.

Enter Phylisa Wisdom. Wisdom is the form executive director of the New York Jewish Agenda (NYJA). Who are NYJA? Glad you’ve asked. They are left. Far left. Are we surprised here? Not hardly.

The New York Jewish Agenda amplifies the voice of Jewish community leaders whose shared values motivate them to promote social justice, combat antisemitism, and support a democratic vision of Israel.”-NYJA

You did not think Mr. Mamdani was going to go with a antisemitism czar that did not go along with his warm, fuzzy collectivism, did you? More:

While most New York Jews are supportive of movements for equality and justice in America and believe in democracy and peace in Israel, many powerful organizations that claim to speak on our behalf are either opposed to or don’t actively promote this agenda and vision. We founded NYJA because we refuse to let Jewish voices on the political right dominate the conversation about critical issues across New York city and state. We seek to rebalance the public debate by organizing and amplifying the voices of Jewish community leaders who share our values in the media, in issue-based coalitions, and in the halls of power.”-NYJA

Equality. Justice. They don’t seek to “rebalance” anything.

In fact, the leadership of NYJA consist of Chuck Schumer’s “rabbi”, Rachel Timoner.

And, then, there’s the “rabbi” Sharon Kleinbaum. More on “rabbi” Kleinbaum:

Sharon Kleinbaum has dedicated her life to promoting social justice, LGBTQ+ and human rights, and progressive values within Judaism.”-NYJA

In other words, her synagogue in Brooklyn has a Pride flag hanging on the outside.

Wisdom began her career as an educator, “working on educational equity, as well as ensuring educational equity for students attending nonpublic schools, specifically yeshivas”. Ahhh, yes, here we go. The use of the word “equity” twice. This can’t be good. Targeting yeshivas is more like it. It has nothing to do with education.

Brooklyn Councilman, Simcha Felder, called Wisdom’s appointment a “shanda,” the Yiddish term for disgrace, and said that it should be withdrawn. Felder is a Democrat. Even he does not like this appointment. Felder went further to say that Wisdom’s appointment would only “fuel Jewish New Yorkers’ anxieties” and be used to “whitewash and legitimize antisemitism.”

In a word, DAMN.

Mamdani seems to think Phylisa Wisdom is going to do a GREAT job as antisemitism czar in New York City.

Phylisa is a respected leader and powerful voice in the fight against antisemitism in New York City, Albany and across the country. Day in and day out, across all five boroughs, we will work together to root out antisemitism and build a New York City where Jewish New Yorkers are safe, respected, and free.”-Zohran Mamdani

New York City has long been a beacon of hope for the Jewish community. We will continue to ensure that Jewish safety and belonging remains at the core of this administration’s vision for a more livable city.”-Phylisa Wisdom

Wait. Stop right there. A more livable city? How is that working out for you, Phylisa?

In a time of rising hatred and fear, I look forward to embracing this solemn responsibility—both to represent the diverse array of Jewish voices to City Hall in this critical moment, and to demonstrate the power of pluralistic democracy in the greatest city in the world.” –Phylisa Wisdom

I wish Phylisa well and genuinely hope she succeeds in making New York City safer for a Jewish community that is understandably on edge. That said, I am concerned about this appointment. The Mayor’s Office to Combat Antisemitism was built to be operational, not symbolic.”-Moshe Davis, former antisemitism czar

.
You will be missed, Moshe. The symbolism of the pluralistic and the warm fragrance of collectivism is in the air. Isn’t that what we smell? Or is it the collected piles of trash that make up the democracy in the largest garbage pile in the world? Asking for a friend.
