The polls are not looking good for Joe Biden. And despite the happy talk by his campaign, they have to know that.

Apparently, it’s “good vibes only” for some Democrat strategists and all bad news is just WRONGTHINK. That’s a bold strategy, Cotton, let’s see how it plays out in November.

Now, the polls in the swing states are tight, no question. But Trump is still leading in those polls. Yes, it’s still a solid five-plus months before Election Day. But we keep bringing this up – Joe Biden will not be getting any younger before that date. The man is still a lying bastard who can’t find his way out of a paper bag.

But a recent poll has revealed Joe Biden’s greatest asset. Or should I say, his ironclad insurance policy. Take a look at this.

This poll from Bloomberg/Morning Consult is the first one that I’ve seen that not only has a Trump v. Biden matchup, a Trump v. Biden v. RFK Jr. v. other candidates matchup, but ALSO a head-to-head Donald Trump v. Kamala Harris matchup. And OH. OH MY.

First of all, this is the first poll to actually acknowledge that there is a better-than-even chance that Joe Biden is either dead, or incapacitated, or is withdrawn from the race by November. Which means at that point, the Democrats are 100% screwed. Kamala Harris is getting handily beaten by Donald Trump in every single swing state, and there is no way that she can dig out of the hole she has for herself. In that same poll, Harris has a 52% UNFAVORABLE rating, with 40% saying “very unfavorable.” Let’s put it bluntly – her political career post-vice presidency is dead on arrival. The only way she gets into the Oval Office herself is if Joe keels over before he leaves the presidency.

And we are beginning to see the Democrats actually admit it. How? Because The Daily Show actually made fun of Kamala Harris – and it is absolutely hysterical.

That is incredibly funny. It’s also three years late in the making. This woman has been a train wreck for years, ran her own presidential campaign into the ground, was picked because Grandpa Joe needed a “black woman” as vice president, and has consistently proven to be both incompetent and cringe-inducing for the last three years. The Democrats KNOW she is a liability. They also know that they can’t get rid of her. Joe (and Jill) Biden know if that he gets pushed out, then the Democrats are stuck with her, or stuck trying to get rid of her. And if the DNC tries to get Kamala Harris off the ticket to replace her with, say, Gavin Newsom or Gretchen Whitmer… then get your popcorn. That internecine war will be bloody, brutal, and vicious.

Not only are Democrats stuck with Joe Biden, they are stuck with Kamala Harris. Nate Silver has been trying to point out the poll numbers to Democrats and saying that if Biden is “still struggling” by the time the convention rolls around in August, then he should “consider” not running and dropping out for a different candidate. That would be the practical move – which means the Democrats absolutely won’t do it. Biden would have to be dead or an immobile vegetable to not be on the ballot in November, because the backup plan is Kamala Harris – and she is Joe’s insurance policy. She is so bad that an immobile vegetable could get elected over her. Kamala Harris can’t be removed without a power struggle, and Joe Biden can’t be allowed to drop out because that leaves the Democrats with Harris. Which means that all the campaign has left are those “good vibes only” hopes. Living in fantasyland is easier than trying to find a way out of the very deep pit the Democrats might find themselves in come fall. But hey, at least the pit will have good vibes, right?
