Kamala paid a visit to Parkland today and toured Marjory Stoneman Douglas school. According to her, the new DOJ Red Flag Center will be a useful tool that should’ve been in place to stop the Parkland shooting.
During the visit, Harris, who is the leader of the White House’s Office of Gun Violence Prevention, announced the launch of the National Extreme Risk Protection Order Resource Center.
“This National Resource Center will be a place where we will provide training for local leaders on how to use red flag laws and keep communities safe. So these are just some of the ways that we can learn from what happened here and of course I will continue to advocate for what we must do in terms of universal background checks and assault weapons ban,” said Harris during her speech in the gymnasium of Stoneman Douglas.
As we all know, prior to the tragedy on February 14, 2018, there were a multitude of warning signs that the shooter was a danger to himself and others. Even law enforcement, as in the Broward County Sheriff’s department helmed by Scott Israel at the time, knew the kid was dangerous. The department received multiple reports and calls about him well prior to 2017.
So, please tell me, how this new “resource center” that the DOJ sneakily introduced in the wee hours of Friday night, would’ve solved the Parkland problem?
What the hell is this evil?

A Federal Red Flag center;
We did not authorize this.
Announced, of course, just hours after the omnibus passes. https://t.co/IkuK0aTeV8
Yes indeed. Congress did not know about this new center. And, has already been documented on multiple occasions in just the last couple of years, Red Flag laws…DO NOT WORK. Especially when the mental health component is an afterthought.
The Lewiston, Maine shooter is a prime example. Maine has a Red Flag law in place. Guess what? When even law enforcement didn’t act regarding the situation as they could’ve, then how would the newly minted DOJ Red Flag center make a difference?
Would a Red Flag law have stopped the Nashville shooter, whose victims have been ignored by Kamala? I highly doubt it.
Furthermore, as we all know, the Parkland shooter was part of the so-called PROMISE program, yet never showed up. No one said a word. Tell me, how would the DOJ’s new center fix THAT issue?

Red flag laws allow family members or law enforcement officials to get court orders that temporarily take away access to guns if they feel a gun owner may harm themselves or others.
So, if applied correctly with the DOJ’s ‘assistance’ tragedies like what happened at Parkland would be a thing of the past, right?
Taxpayer money used to demolish due process — when all past tragedy was avoidable following existing laws and processes to render an individual ineligible to possess or carry. This isn’t an action of compassion, it’s one of tyranny. https://t.co/fLbO3aOc6w

That’s another key point about this. Kamala along with Biden as the DOJ are using OUR taxpayer dollars to implement this center. A center that none of us agreed to. Furthermore, there are huge Constitutional issues with this, as Red Flag laws have already been used as a weapon against people.
No constitutional authority. No oversight. Created and run by bureaucrats who you didn’t hire, you can’t fire, and who don’t think they work for you. https://t.co/e0gPvJyrE5

There’s another problem with this. Will Red Flag laws work when it involved illegal aliens? We already have a judge ruling that illegals CAN have guns in their possession, whether legally obtained or not. Will this center include those here illegally? Or just Americans? My bet is…just Americans.
Today Kamala Harris is visiting the high school where the Parkland mass shooting took place.

Christopher Wray visited Parkland yesterday.
Now the DOJ is announcing a Federal Red Flag center.
Pay attention, folks. https://t.co/DyA71TQDl8 pic.twitter.com/sQLSMQwGvq
Definitely pay attention. Kamala and the Biden Administration are once again using the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas as a push for more gun control, which was kicked off by the so-called “Bipartisan Safer Communities Act,” on multiple levels.
The failures at Parkland were many. The lack of gun control laws was not one of those failures.

and pigs will fly and bacon will be free
Remember folks: When gun grabbers say something like “how many children have to die before you give up your guns?” it’s because they want a number to strive for.
Red Flag laws…DO NOT WORK
Yes, and no. Just like every other anti-gun infringement, they might work if actually implemented and used against people that are dangerous. (And this is aside from the fact there are already laws in place and the Fourth Amendment issues with most Red Flag laws.) But when you don’t want to hurt “a young man’s future” by sending him off to prison because he’s a psychopath, they will not ever work. “Illegal possession” laws won’t work, either, if you never actually send someone to jail for it (and mostly just use it for a plea bargaining tool, so you don’t have to work hard). Background checks don’t work (anyone remember Sutherland Springs?) if the authorities don’t input the data into the system. There are loads of examples already of people not using the Red Flag systems already in place because they don’t want to be the bad guy. A federal Red Flag center is great for these people because it removes the responsibility for any decisions yet one more layer from them.
The failures at Parkland were many. The lack of gun control laws was not one of those failures.
DING! But the Progressives will never learn that. It contradicts their belief system that a law or a plan or a program will solve these issues without enforcement or work.
