Mitt Romney has made his decision, and things just got a lot easier for Mitch McConnell.
After Romney made his twisted-pretzel stand against Donald Trump during impeachment, the so-called “Resistance” had lauded Romney as “the one moral and good Republican” who was willing to stand up to the Bad Orange Man. Not only was the right annoyed with Romney, but we also remembered when Romney had been excoriated by that same left-wing Resistance as “Hitler” who put women in binders and strapped dogs to the roof of his car and gave a woman cancer. But since Romney had danced according to their tune, they loved him now.
Well, heroism in the Resistance is short-lived if you don’t bend to their eternal desires. And Romney is no longer the Republican darling of the Resistance after this morning.

Uh-oh.
Let the meltdowns begin.

And on and on it goes. Resistance Twitter is fully activated and angry today, especially with Romney, Grassley, and Alexander all agreeing with Mitch McConnell that any SCOTUS choice that President Trump puts forward is going to get a vote. With Collins and Murkowski doing Collins and Murkowski things, it still means that the votes are there.

Because even if Mitch McConnell can only get 50 votes, the tie vote goes to Vice President Pence. Game over for the Democrats, and they know it.
President Trump is planning to announce his choice for SCOTUS on Saturday. He has reportedly met with Judge Amy Coney Barrett already, and the report is out that he plans on meeting with Judge Barbara Lagoa on Friday. The wheels are very much in motion to fill the seat.
And now with the votes present, there is nothing that Democrats can do. The threats being thrown around like glitter aren’t anything that we haven’t heard already. The Republicans have not forgotten the absolute shitshow that the Democrats pulled over Brett Kavanaugh. Senator Lindsey Graham, now chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has not forgotten one bit.
“It’s pretty obvious that if they [Democrats] want an outcome, they’ll just destroy anybody’s life to keep the seats open,” Graham told host Sean Hannity.”
“They said they tried to destroy Brett Kavanaugh so they could fill the seat — they were dumb enough to say that,” Graham added. “I’ve seen this movie before. It’s not going to work, it didn’t work with Kavanaugh.”
“We’ve got the votes to confirm Justice Ginsburg’s replacement before the election. We’re going to move forward in the committee, we’re going to report the nomination out of the committee to the floor of the United States Senate so we can vote before the election. Now, that’s the constitutional process.”
Once the nomination is made on Saturday, the real fight begins. If you thought the Kavanaugh hearings were lit, just wait until vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris, Senate Judiciary committee member, begins asking questions of the newest nominee to the Supreme Court. Joe Biden is desperately trying to avoid doing anything to make the left mad, and that includes not releasing his own list of Supreme Court candidates. He’s already disappeared for the day, and the first debate is in exactly one week. Brace yourselves, everyone.

[…] Romney Will Vote On SCOTUS, Resistance Cries […]
Romney will agree to a vote. But my 2 cents says he votes against anyone nominated by the President.
