President Trump will not stay in any bunker, like former Vice President You-Know-Who. On Saturday, the President took a tour of the hurricane-ravaged areas of Texas and Louisiana. There he visited with Govs. John Bel Edwards and Greg Abbott to discuss helping rebuild their states after Hurricane Laura.

(Oh, and he didn’t wear a mask to tour the hurricane damage, either. The media thought it was important that you knew that.)

Nor is he done with traveling yet, because on Tuesday President Trump will visit Kenosha, WI, to see a different kind of devastation — the kind that rioting brought about. But he won’t just look at burned-out buildings, shake his head, cluck his tongue, and then fly off in Air Force One. Instead, he will also meet with law enforcement as well as survey the damage.

Whether or not Trump will meet with the family of Jacob Blake, the man whose shooting by police instigated the violence, is up in the air, according to the White House. But Jacob Blake, Sr., has given a hard pass to any Trump visit. He has already spoken with Joe Biden, and that’s all he needs. It’s too late for Trump now, Blake told CNN’s Anderson Cooper:

“Biden kept telling me his own issues with his family. That he identifies with what I’m going through. I didn’t have to keep telling him. He knew. It felt like he knew.”

I’m pretty sure Biden didn’t tell the Blake family about his issues with his son Hunter. I doubt the Blakes would be able to identify with Hunter’s international business scandals.

Meanwhile, speaking of Joe Biden, the former Veep used his Saturday to criticize Trump’s law and order stance. Addressing the National Guard Association of the United States, Biden promised the Guard that he wouldn’t use them “as a prop or private militia.”

“I’ll never use the military as a prop or as a private militia to violate rights of fellow citizens. That’s not law and order. You don’t deserve that.”

Sorry, that’s weak sauce, especially because the Guard quelled the rioting in Kenosha. What also made the speech weak was because Biden didn’t even address the group in person — again, it was virtual. And now since President Trump has announced his Kenosha tour, liberal heads are exploding everywhere.

That’s because Biden supporters realize that their guy blew it by not going to Kenosha.

Like former Trump supporter turned Trump-hater Joe Walsh, who said on Friday that if Biden goes to Kenosha “he will win Wisconsin and he will win the Presidency.”

But now. . .

Others are worried about Biden screwing up his chances in WI, too.

Moreover, other Democrats are also becoming anxious about Biden’s campaign.

Like comedian Bill Maher, who told MSNBC’s Joy Reid that he’s “very nervous” about Biden winning in November:

“I am feeling less confident about this. Maybe it’s just their convention bump got to me, but I’m feeling less confident than I was a month ago. I feel very nervous, the same way I did four years ago at this time.”

But Maher isn’t the only one worried about a Biden loss. On Friday, The Atlantic published a gloom-and-doom article entitled, “This is How Biden Loses.” They predicted that Kenosha would be the breaking point for any chance at the presidency:

“Trump will bang this loud, ugly drum until Election Day. He knows that Kenosha has placed Democrats in a trap. They’ve embraced the protests and the causes that drive them.”

So this is what Biden should do, writes the Atlantic:

“Biden, then, should go immediately to Wisconsin, the crucial state that Hillary Clinton infamously ignored. . . . Then, on the burned-out streets, without a script, from the heart, Biden should speak to the city and the country. He should speak for justice and for safety, for reform and against riots, for the crying need to bring the country together.”

Too late. It’s Trump who will visit Kenosha, not Biden. Moreover, if Biden actually leaves his home to see the devastation wrought by the rioters that he is too timid to condemn, it will be too little, too late. It will also smell like desperation.

Let’s be honest — Trump’s Kenosha tour is certainly calculated to win votes. In 2016, Trump’s Wisconsin victory was literally the narrowest of his Electoral College margins. A visit to the riot-torn city will help win support for Trump. But that’s not cynicism, it’s political common sense. If Barack Obama was running again, he’d be in Wisconsin in a heartbeat.

Yet Kenosha also has a population that wants order back in their streets. They want their businesses to thrive again, they want to feel secure again. Perhaps the President can give them a renewed sense of safety. Perhaps they will welcome him.

An art store owner said:

“I never thought this would happen here. This is organized crime. This is terrorism. They’re destroying our city, and I think a lot of the people who are coming in at night and doing it aren’t from here.”

She also said she was “OK” with bringing in the National Guard — something that Joe Biden said he wouldn’t do.

Meanwhile, Biden timidly sits at home and holds virtual conferences. And Kamala Harris won’t condemn the unrest. But the President will tour hurricane and riot zones. No wonder the Democrats are becoming unnerved.
