If there was ever any doubt that the Democratic Party is nothing more than a front for anti-American interests, yesterday should have put them to rest. During a sub-committee hearing on violence committed by Antifa, Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) and six of her Democratic comrades walked out instead of standing for the law-abiding citizens of this country. After all, law and order and the rights of the innocent must be sacrificed on the altar of Antifa according to the new Democratic credo.
Tuesday’s hearing bore the title “The Right of the People Peaceably to Assemble: Protecting Speech by Stopping Anarchist Violence”. Considering the events of the last month-plus, this is something that was long in coming. Instead, too many of our lawmakers have been concerned with bending knee to those who see no problem with destroying their neighborhoods or in pledging to defund our law enforcement agencies. Now we have members of the Democratic Party walking out of sub-committee hearings rather than condemn those who have committed acts of violence, have destroyed private property and caused economic hardship to who knows how many people across the country.
Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated incident where the Dems are concerned. They no longer hide their attepts to undermine society and strip away any and all protections we have undeer the Constitution. For example, Minnesota’s attorney general, Keith Ellison (D), sees nothing wrong with claiming cops shouldn’t respond to rape calls because the victim would rather have a counselor there and not someong trained to use a firearm. I guess he doesn’t think getting a victim’s statement, the gathering of evidence, the securing of the crime scene isn’t important. In other words, he seems more concerned in the long run about the rights of the rapist than he does about the well-being and rights of the victim.
Then there’s Karen Bass, currently the odds on favorite to be named Biden’s running mate. There are a lot of reasons to be worried about her in that position. But many of those concerns pale in comparison with this: she “described former Communist Party USA official Oneil Marion Cannon as her ‘mentor’ when she eulogized him in 2017.” We’ve already lived through one president with, shall we say, questionable ties to the CPUSA. Do we dare run the risk of electing a ticket where the V-P shares such ties? Especially when there is a very real possibility Biden won’t serve an entire term?
But Hirono takes the cake. She had a captive audience. TV cameras were rolling. Here was her chance to stand up and show her constituents and the rest of the nation that she loves this country and will serve and protect in her role as a senator. Instead, she took offense because Ted Cruz (R-TX) dared put her on the spot. He didn’t let her sidestep the issue and when she tried to turn it back on him, he called her out.
Sometimes I don’t think you listen,” Hirono told Cruz at the Senate Judiciary subcommittee hearing as he finished up with a nearly 10-minute speech. “So, how many times have I had to say that we all should be denouncing violent extremists of every stripe.”
Does that include Antifa?” said Cruz, who was chairing the hearing.
Because he’s a wise man, Cruz didn’t hold his breath waiting for her answer. Instead of denouncing Antifa, she tried to sidestep. Then, unable to to turn Cruz into the bad guy, she simply gathered her things and left the hearing, much like a spoiled child stomping off the playground because they didn’t their way.
Cruz gave her another chance to say something, anything condemning Antifa before she left the chamber.

As the tweet says, “crickets”.
Except Hirono’s response was much more telling than had she simple skulked out with her tail between her legs.
I think that I’ve covered the subject quite well,” Hirono said as she left.
Yes, Madame Senator, you did. You let everyone know you don’t give a flying flip for those folks who love this country, who have worked hard to build a life for themselves and their families, who have businesses and personal property that Antifa decides should be confiscate for “the people” or, worse, destroyed out of sheer meaness.
Why the hell is she in the Senate?
Why the hell does the Democratic Party allow her, not to mention Sanders and others, to run under the party banner? The short answer, the quick answer is because the Democratic Party isn’t the Party it was a century ago. It’s not the party history would have us believe. For decades, it has done its best to push us toward socialism. But, in the past, they did so under cover and as subtlely as they could.
No more, unfortunately. Now the Dems proudly embrace those who hate our nation and all it stands for. Better to stand for the rioters, the ones who destroy public and private property just because they can than it is to stand up for our rights, our liberty, our lives.
Instead of following their example, we should follow that set by Ted Cruz. You don’t have to always agree with him. But no one can doubt his loyalty to our nation, his love for state and country.

It is terrifying that Hirono is a ranking member of the Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution. She’s proven her idea of protecting our rights is limited to protecting the rights of the few–Antifa and their ilk–at the expense of the many.
If you’re still not convinced she is the face of what the Democratic Party has become, consider this statement from her about the committee hearing. According to her, the hearing should have been titled, “he right of the people peaceably to assemble without being beaten up by unidentifiable federal agents.” Like all “good” Democrats, she tried to deflect and play to the current audience du jour. Fortunately, Cruz was having none of it.
He called her out. We should take his example to heart and call out every member of Congress, every member of our state and local governments who put their own interests or the interests of a small group they are trying to appease ahead of our constitutional rights. We live in the United States of America, not the United American Socialist States. But for how long? The clock is ticking and the deadline for recovery is fast approaching. We either stop the slide and vote out the Dems, maintaining the Republican hold on the Senate and the Oval Office (and hopefully regain the majority in the House) or we kiss our freedom goodbye.
Across the country, we’re seeing horrific violence, we’re seeing our country torn apart,” Cruz told Fox News Monday. “Violent anarchists and Marxists are exploiting protests to transform them into riots and direct assaults on the lives and safety of their fellow Americans.”
And these are the people Hirono refused to condemn. Isn’t it time to give her a one-way ticket out of DC and out of government service once and for all?

“Antifa is the Democrats armed terror wing.”
One might even say “The Brownshirts of the democrats”…
Good post Amanda, too bad most people will never know this happened, because they believe only what they see in the lamestream media, or on leftist sites like Huffpo, neither of which will carry this.
Mazie exposed herself as a first-class PoS during the Kavanaugh hearings. This behaviour should not come as a surprise to anyone.
Not only one of the dumbest in the Senate, but a truly vile person on top of that.
