Conspiracy Nuts Aid China In Blaming Reservist For Virus

Just when you thought you couldn’t despise the Chinese Communists any more than you do now, they spread a totally whack conspiracy theory that a U.S. Army Reservist was patient zero for the Wuhan Flu, with the politically correct name of Covid-19. Just when you thought that you couldn’t despise the sewer that Social Media can be, those nuts are aiding the ChiComs in spreading this vicious lie. And, the woman who has been smeared as patient zero has had her life ruined and has no recourse.

Maatje Benassi is an Army Reservist, who works as a civilian contractor at Fort Belvoir. Her husband, Matt Benassi, is retired Air Force and works as a civilian contractor at the Pentagon. The couple have two children. Got the picture? Just a military couple who are living the dream.

Maatje Benassi went to Wuhan to participate in the Military World Games as a cyclist. The games took place in November, 2019. Maatje was injured but she finished the race. That’s the American spirit. You go, girl.

On January 21, 2020, the New York Times wrote about the first confirmed Covid-19. The wild conspiracy theories began shortly thereafter. Victory Girls’ own Kim just wrote about a bunch of these nutty theories. Read her post here.

The execrable ChiComs have been hustling the theory that the U.S. military brought the WuFlu to China. Now, where are Earth would they get that nasty idea? From an American nutcase, that’s where. This vile, low-down, piece of human navel lint is named George Webb. I had never heard of him before but he has nearly 100,000 YouTube followers. His claim to fame is that he shut down the Port of Charleston, SC with a call about a dirty bomb.

With absolutely zero proof, Webb named Maatje Benassi as the patient zero who brought the Covid-19 flu to Wuhan. I kid you not. On March 29, the Orinoco Tribune out of Venezuela (right!?) reported on this conspiracy theory:

Citizens, as well as Chinese experts, demand that Washington make public the information on the American military athletes who attended the World Military Games last October that took place in Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak of the new coronavirus, known COVID-19 , and put an end to the conjecture about the origin of the pathogen, the Chinese state newspaper Global Times published on Wednesday.

The report was released after an American journalist, George Webb, claimed that an American military athlete, Maatje Benassi, a cyclist who was in Wuhan at the time for the cycling competition at the World Military Games, could have been COVID -19 patient zero in Wuhan.

You want to throat punch someone right now, don’t you?

Maatje and Matt Benassi have had their lives ruined. The Raw Story reported:

Matt Benassi, the civilian Pentagon employee, told CNN he feared the conspiracy theories would make them targets for violence, and he expressed frustration with YouTube for allowing Webb’s videos to remain online.

“It’s really hard to hold [Webb] accountable,” Matt Benassi said. “Law enforcement will tell you that there’s nothing that we can do about it because we have free speech in this country. Then they say, ‘Go talk to a civil attorney,’ so we did. We talked to an attorney. You quickly realize that for folks like us, it’s just too expensive to litigate something like this. We get no recourse from law enforcement. We get no recourse from the courts.”

I don’t get why they have no recourse. Free speech does not mean that you get to blame one person for a worldwide pandemic with zero, zilch proof.

Alisyn Camerota of CNN filed this non-fake news story:

Webb says he has a source at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. For the record, Maatje Benassi has never tested positive for the WuFlu.

The conspiracy theorist Webb is giving aid and comfort to the Chinese Communist Party. They are our enemy in every possible way. Maatje and Matt Benassi should be given Federal protection at the very least. There should be a way for them to sue George Webb. Surely, some legal firm would take the case pro bono. If this doesn’t make you furious, check your patriotism meter.

I prefer Winnie The Flu. Just saying.

As to this couple, no, they probably don’t have much recourse. It would be difficult to support a claim of “harm” to their reputation in a libel suit. (Not saying it would be wrong to claim that, just that it would be hard under the law.)

And this sort of thing is why dueling existed for so long. Can’t really be taken to a court of law, but you can certainly call him out and beat the snot out of him for this idiocy. (Unfortunately harder to do that with the Chinese Commie gov’t.) Not advocating for might-makes-right, nor even right-makes-might, but it’s why human beings did that.

Wanna bet that little shit stain Webb votes democrat?

  • Skillyboo says:

So is the Webb the Turd implying that Matjee Benassi ate bat while there. After all that is the Chinese excuse for where it originated. Or maybe they kidnapped her and smuggled her into one of their labs and infected her. Or deliberately infected her somewhere else. See I can make up conspiracy theories too.

From an article in The Age newspaper [Australia]:

“Ambassador Cheng Jingye has done Australia a great service. He has taken off the mask. … Ambassador Cheng has openly threatened Australia with trade boycotts. … Why? Because Prime Minister Scott Morrison last week dared to suggest an inquiry into the origins of the coronavirus pandemic. Cheng stated “The Chinese public is frustrated, dismayed and disappointed with what Australia is doing now,” Cheng said. … and “If the mood is going from bad to worse, [Chinese] people would think, ‘Why should we go to such a country that is not so friendly to China? The tourists may have second thoughts. The parents of the students would also think whether this place which they found is not so friendly, even hostile, whether this is the best place to send their kids here.”

“It is up to the people to decide. Maybe the ordinary people will say, ‘Why should we drink Australian wine? Eat Australian beef?'”

Cheng said that it was a political move in league with the US: “So what is being done by the Australia side, the proposition is a kind of teaming up with those forces in Washington and to launch a kind of political campaign against China.” He said the idea of an inquiry was “dangerous”.

Clearly the CCP is attacking on multiple fronts to discourage, distract and deny Chinese culpability, stupidity and deceit.

Good on Oz for poking the Rat in the eye.

And, from my perspective, you really shouldn’t want all those Chinese kids in your universities, as some large portion of them are spies for the Commie Chinese.

    • Scott says:

The ambassador is correct about an inquiry being dangerous.. the truth is ALWAYS dangerous to communist regimes…

  • Anna A says:

I wonder if the lawyers for Nick Sandmann, who were successful in their suits against Washington Post and others would take the Benassi’s case
