Geraldo Rivera: Obama Failed Because Americans Were Not Ready For a “Black President”

We watched the SOTU last night with bated breath. Waiting for some mention of yesterday’s happenings with American sailors off the coast or Iran. Waiting for God-only knows-what from a SOTU that covered everything from how those who believed that our economy was failing were “peddling fiction”, to improving “work ethics” of Americans to education to climate change to quoting Dr. Martin Luther King multiple times.

Obama did admit to some level of regret over the past 7 years:

Too many Americans feel that way right now. It’s one of the few regrets of my presidency — that the rancor and suspicion between the parties has gotten worse instead of better. There’s no doubt a president with the gifts of Lincoln or Roosevelt might have better bridged the divide, and I guarantee I’ll keep trying to be better so long as I hold this office.

You can read the full transcript of the SOTU here. The rancor and suspicion between the parties has gotten worse instead of better. You think?!

While Obama believes in his delusional mind that he can repair the divide (he caused) and “promises” to do better “so long as he holds the office” (as if he will be there any longer than his term comes to a mandatory end), here comes Geraldo Rivera with another theory on what failed Obama in his presidency. Are you ready for this?

So, we have the President (sort of) admitting that relations have not improved between parties and Geraldo Rivera claiming that Americans caused a divide between us and the president because our president is black?

“When you look at the groups that overwhelmingly favor the Democrats right now, the Asians, the Hispanics, the African-Americans, the Muslims, you see a nation where people have largely chosen up sides and if you strip away everything else, what you are going to find is a racial divide. It is the biggest, unaddressed issue. I think it is why we can’t deal with urban crime. It’s why we are dysfunctional in terms of the ability to be bilateral, bicameral, bipartisan.”

Geraldo appeared on Fox News’ Outnumbered, where he finally conceded to co-host Harris Faulkner that Obama failed at healing the racial divide, but only through “benign neglect.”

Benign neglect, huh? Is that all the past 7 years was? More minorities of the inner cities dependent on welfare and food stamps because of benign neglect? A generation of children who have become depressed and angry and frustrated because their president tells them they are victims instead of victors is also, I guess, a product of this man’s “benign neglect”. A generation who is told that everyone who is not like them is against them by a leader who is supposed to be there as an inspiration, bridging the gap is just now what Geraldo calls it- “benign neglect”.

The real onus, according to Geraldo Rivera, is on us, the Americans. Not all Americans-just those racist Americans who couldn’t handle a black (biracial, actually) president and their white privilege. We just were not ready. Our fault. We are the ones to be held accountable. As far as Obama goes, we can chalk all of the past seven years up to benign neglect. Thanks, Geraldo for giving me the smack upside the head with a chair. I feel so much better now.

Anyone making the “people won’t work with Obama because he’s black” argument, like a woman who called C-Span this morning, are too stupid for words. Obama is a disastrous President. He’s taking the place of someone who wouldn’t have sucked this badly. As a white guy, I’m perfectly willing to concede that it’s his white half that’s incompetent.

Apologies for the grammar error in my post. “is too stupid for words.” I is mortified.

    Geraldo…douchebag extrodinaire

….and we’re supposed to believe that our uber malignant Narcissist-in-Chief, the Grand Ozymandias-on-the-Potomac, REALLY believes he can “try to be better”????

However does one improve upon perfection?

Such a concept is totally foreign to the mind of a off-the-charts egomaniac like ol’ choomin’ Barry. (Don’t know what he’s smoking now, but it must be some good stuff, Maynard!)

“L’etat, c’est moi” should be on his personal coat-of-arms crest.

The Great Clothes-less Emperor is failing because he’s black? Oh, Senior Jerry Rivera, please give us a sobbing break. That’s like saying Bonnie and Clyde were ultimately unsuccessful because others did not sufficiently appreciate their creative, entrepreneurial income generating scheme.
