In recent months Maxine Waters, Cory Booker, Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton, and many other prominent Democrats have advocated for violence. They threw open Pandora’s box labeled MOB, and their calls to action are bearing fruit. They happily unleashed the whirlwind, yet refuse to accept responsibility for the destruction they are causing.
Ricin laced letters are sent to Senators homes. Shrieking mobs attack innocent drivers and passersby in Portland and elsewhere. GOP candidates and staffers have been physically attacked, leaving one with a concussion.
Shrieking mob harpies turned the Senate building into a zone of insanity with their chants, screams, and mob behavior during the Kavanaugh hearings. Trump Administration officials have been driven from restaurants by unhinged lunatics. A restaurant in Tennessee has been dealing with death threats because they DARED to open their doors to Senator Marsha Blackburn for a fundraiser.
Kim writes here about the recent attacks on Senator Mitch McConnell and Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi. Evidently, this is what Eric Holder meant by “kick them.”
Congressman Steve Scalise warns us once again of the dangers of the mob.
Words have consequences and as all of these Democratic Party leaders know, they are in positions of great influence. Their supporters respond to their leadership. But instead of using this authority to strengthen our democracy, their calls for bullying and harassment have undermined it and have incited violence.
Yes, he is correct. Where are the Democrats? Why aren’t they calling for the mob to stand down?
Where is the media? Yes, Brooke Baldwin, I’m looking at you. The media has a very big megaphone. Yet do we see them calling out the mob whether in Portland, against Nancy Pelosi, or GOP staffers/candidates and demanding they stop? Not that I can tell. They are complicit in this and they are wrong. Sure, some are saying things on Twitter…

Physical intimidation is not nonviolent because it carries within it the fear of violence. Almost like right wingers armed with semiautomatics surrounding peaceful protesters… They haven’t fired a shot but you have to keep hoping and praying they’re sane and won’t get too angry

Wesley is trying to convince himself and everyone else that what we’ve been seeing and hearing is “nonviolent” and our government officials should get used to this kind of petition. Wesley needs a dictionary.

The Democrat Left gleefully opened Pandora’s Box, their continued silence is taken as consent, and they fail to realize that they have unleashed a monster they cannot control.

I don’t think they have (so far) been laced with actual ricin, but rather castor oil in an attempt at ricin or in an effort to fake ricin. The ones that tested positive addressed to Mattis and Trump were ricin fails. If the one sent to Collins had been real ricin, I think there’d have been more of a hew and cry. (Or, true, a lid put on it.)
And you forgot to mention Scalise’s shooter.

Now, I generally like Lincoln, but that is a load of codswallop. Unless you go full “j’accuse!” the odds are you will be grabbing the folks involved in the crime. It doesn’t make vigilante justice right or good, but the idea that it just outright kills innocents willy-nilly is baloney.
(BTW, this thinking is part of why the “Believe all women” crowd gets torqued at men mentioning being abused by women lying – they use the exact same thinking, but in reverse, that if you’re saying some women lie about it, then you don’t believe any or most of them.)

This behavior will not stop until the push back starts to actually hurt them. Not arresting and charging with a misdemeanor, not attempting to shame them, not calling for restraint, not calling for Dem leaders to disavow their behavior. Pain is the best teacher.

Note the restrictions of peaceable assembly for the purpose of petitioning the government.
There’s no Constitutional right to form a mob to harass people.

– occupy wall street did a lot of physical damage and the protestors typically did not have permits but there was very little police action to arrest and prosecute

– the protests after Trump’s inauguration – similar and in this case, although people were arrested, the court essentially vacated the charges – this probably sent an important message

geokstr says: The leaders on the left are well aware of the slippery slope this path to violence is on. The also see it as exactly what they want, and happily shove society Forward! over that cliff. Leaders on the non-left will be eliminated, either by death, withdrawing from the fight, or surrendering. The problem with that is that it takes time. And we might not have the time to accomplish it, given that the progressives saw the brass ring within their grasp because of 0bama’s election, and decided to make a full-tilt run at achieving the technocracy they crave.
Ever wondered why, after fighting the bloodiest war in our nation’s history in order to restore the union and free slaves, the country allowed the Democrats to establish white supremacy and segregation. This is why. There were mobs then, just like now. There were threats of violence and actual violence, particularly against Republicans.
Get used to it. This is the Democratic party. Sometimes it conceals what it is. Sometimes it does not.
