The charges against Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) were announced in early March. Today, a grand jury has indicted both Menendez and his friend who allegedly benefited from the senator’s corruption, Dr. Salomon Melgen.
The indictment charged the New Jersey Democrat with 14 counts, including bribery and conspiracy, over his ties to Dr. Salomon Melgen, a wealthy doctor and the politician’s longtime friend.
Melgen also was charged in the case.
The indictment from a grand jury in New Jersey was the latest development in a federal investigation that came into public view when federal authorities raided Melgen’s medical offices two years ago. The investigation focused on whether the senator had improperly advocated on Melgen’s behalf, including by intervening in a Medicare billing dispute.
Of course, the Justice Department also announced today that former IRS official Lois Lerner will NOT be facing any charges, because in contrast to the House Committee who held her in contempt due to her “statement” before pleading the Fifth during congressional testimony, the DOJ says that no, she didn’t waive her Constitutional rights.

Senator Menendez indicted on federal corruption charges. Did he do anything worse than Hillary? Lerner? He just didn't play ball w/ Obama.

Menendez’s corruption is certainly worthy of indictment, and whatever consequences coming to him, if proved. But it is sick to watch Lois Lerner walk away with little personal consequences for her actions when there was ample cause and evidence to turn the full weight of the law on her actions.
One does not criticize the King on Iran and remain seated on the Foreign Relations Committee. Lerner belongs in prison alongside Clinton and Reid.

Nothing to see here, move along…..
Just another (ab)normal day in the imperial kingdom of Ozymandias on the Potomac. I can hardly wait until his leg-assy is indeed reduced to “two trunkless legs of stone” amid the blowing sands of time.
