If there’s one thing that the last election cycle of 2020 should have taught us all, it’s that the voting public really, really, REALLY hates chaos.

In fact, the chaos of 2020 (and the general feeling of disorganization within the Trump administration constantly fueled by media speculation, despite good policy and results from the administration itself) was something that Joe Biden campaigned on. Remember the whole “return to norms” pitch? Biden saying that “the adults would be in charge” again? Well, as it turns out, the chaos never stopped. And now the chaos is being aided and abetted and coddled by none other than Joe Biden himself.

There is no other way to explain the absolute cowardice that has marked the Biden administration’s policy on Israel. When the October 7th massacre happened, the Biden team paid lip service to supporting Israel after the attack, even though it took Old Joe three days to make a public statement about it at all. Maybe that should have been our first clue about where the administration’s loyalties truly lay. Over the course of the next several months, we have seen Biden go from vocal support of Israel, to modified support of Israel, to outright hypocritical accusations against Israel, to the protection of Hamas. He has tried pressuring Israel into not being so “mean” to the murderers and rapists of Hamas because they’ve “suffered” enough. The Biden administration has admitted that they withheld intelligence information from Israel that could have shortened this war, by trying to use it as a bargaining chip instead. Biden announced that he was withholding aid, despite funding bills that were passed, because he was chickening out and desperate to pander to the far left.

Well, as Emily Litella would say, “Never mind.”

The poll numbers must have been hideous for the Biden administration for their tune to change this quickly. But this is a completely different arms sale, not the one that was blocked. Still, it’s clear that the administration is trying to make the optics look better for them.

It’s the first arms shipment to Israel to be pushed ahead since the administration put another arms transfer, consisting of 3,500 bombs of up to 2,000 pounds each, on hold this month. The Biden administration, citing concern for civilian casualties in Gaza, has said it paused that bomb transfer to keep Israel from using those particular munitions in its offensive in the crowded southern Gaza city of Rafah.

The new package disclosed Tuesday includes about $700 million for tank ammunition, $500 million in tactical vehicles and $60 million in mortar rounds, the congressional aides said. They spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss an arms transfer that has not yet been made public.

The American people don’t like chaos. The flip-flopping on Israel feels chaotic. The withdrawl from Afghanistan WAS chaotic – and deadly. The economy is still struggling under the weight of inflation. The pro-Hamas protests on college campuses and blocking traffic for everyday Americans IS chaos.

And in the midst of all of this, the massive failures by the Biden administration, we have the development of the “Never Biden” contingent. While the stories up until this point have been more anectodal, some people are now going on the record to say that they are done with Old Joe. And that final straw was Israel.

Cliff Asness, a Republican donor who says he “spent well over seven figures” to support Trump’s primary opponent Nikki Haley, told The Free Press that “My ‘Never Again’ is trumping my ‘Never Trump’ these days.”

“Biden is a huge disappointment, really a moral outrage with this arms embargo being only the latest and greatest outrage,” continued Asness, the co-founder of AQR Capital Management. “Despite my long opposition to him, this makes me more likely, though I haven’t quite gotten there yet, to see Trump as the better of two bad alternatives.”

Billionaire entertainment mogul and major Democratic donor Haim Saban wrote of Biden’s policy switch in an email to two senior White House advisers last week: “Let’s not forget that there are more Jewish voters who care about Israel than Muslim voters that care about Hamas.”

And after CNN aired Biden’s comments on Wednesday, hedge fund billionaire Bill Ackman, a registered Democrat, took to X to call the move “one of the worst acts against an ally of a sitting president ever. Hopefully, this means he won’t be sitting for longer.”

David Friedman, who served as Trump’s ambassador to Israel and has been in touch with many Trump-skeptic Jewish donors though he has no official role on the campaign, told The Free Press that he has seen “more Jewish money coming in” for Trump in the election.

“I think the announcement on Wednesday,” he said referring to Biden’s arms decision, “was the last straw for people who were already leaning very close to going for Trump. He continued, “There is clearly a change going on, people who are active in politics with big money, people who were never Trumpers or reluctant ‘hold your nose Trumpers’ are telling me that Trump has to win.”

Michael Granoff, a managing partner of Maniv, a venture fund dedicated to clean transportation technology, told The Free Press that he voted for Joe Biden in 2020 but has lost confidence in the president: “I am not voting for Biden. I’m not saying I’m voting for Trump, but it’s a nonzero chance now.” Granoff was a staffer on the Clinton-Gore campaign and was a close friend of the late senator Joe Lieberman. These days he calls himself a political independent. He has given to campaigns for Rep. Ritchie Torres, the Bronx Democrat who has emerged as one of the most pro-Israel voices in Congress, as well as former Rep. Liz Cheney, who broke with Trump after January 6.

It’s not just that Biden is losing the individual votes – it’s that he might lose those votes to Donald Trump. Biden has sowed division and chaos, and now he is reaping the whirlwind all because the pro-Iran Obama holdovers in the administration are telling him that he cannot lose the pro-Hamas vote in Michigan. He might yet win that, but he will lose all the “normies” who just want to not see Keffiyah Karens and Hamas Handmaids and Antifa on their news feeds each day.

If Biden now represents as much chaos as the media portrays Trump to be, then regular voters are going to be comparing the two, and the comparison will not favor Joe Biden. There is a reason he is currently trailing in the polls in the swing states. We still have a lot of time before Election Day, but Joe Biden has limited time left to change his image (and his campaign doesn’t seem inclined to change anything) and he isn’t getting any younger between now and November.
