If you are anywhere near a Democrat and you see trails of drool, well, move away quickly. A French court has ordered former presidential candidate, Marine Le Pen to undergo psychiatric testing because of tweets. Yup, a Democrat dream come true.
“Reuters.com” filed the following report:
A French court ordered Marine Le Pen to submit to a psychiatric evaluation as part of its investigation into her decision to post images of Islamic State executions on Twitter, the far right leader said on Thursday and denounced the order.

The investigation relates to three graphic images of Islamic State executions Le Pen posted on Twitter in 2015, including the beheading of American journalist James Foley.
She tweeted violent images of Radical Islamic Jihadists beheading people and the French Courts think she needs a psych eval. Like I said, fantasy of the left. And, they immediately proved me correct. Check out this Twitter feed.
Well, aren’t they just too clever and funny?
A couple of things that everyone should remember.
1. The French have their own ugly history with beheadings. Let us think back to World History Class probably seventh or eighth grade. If you were not taught about the “Reign of Terror” or “Madame La Guillotine in school, you can read about it here. The French Revolution was ugly and barbaric. It was less than 230 years ago. To call Marine Le Pen crazy because she is sensitive to barbarism or call her nationalistic ignores French history.
2. The Christian Bible, Matthew 7, 12, reminds us to “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” This is from Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount.
If you are atheist or non-religious, you might think of Immanuel Kant and the Categorical Imperative which states: “Always act so that you may also wish that the maxim of your action become a universal law.”
In other words, don’t wish on others what you don’t want to happen to you. Careless tweets can happen. Roseanne Barr lost her job because of tweeting under the influence. You think Marine Le Pen is crazy? You think Donald Trump is crazy? Check your own Twitterfeed first because the courts could come for you too.
3. Apparently, the French don’t know their own history (See point 1) or read great literature. Franz Kafka should be on their recommended reading list. Russian author Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn is another whose works might help our French cousins. If the French desire something more contemporary, Liu Xia, the widow of Nobel Peace Prize Poet Liu Xiaobo was released from house arrest this July.
4. Diagnosing other people with mental illnesses is dangerous. Michael Smerconish makes my point.
Y’all can think this is clever and funny. Y’all can think it only happens in France. Be very careful with everyone else’s rights. It’s all fun and games until they order the psych eval for you.

It’s very disturbing that a formerly enlightened western democracy has fallen so far, so quickly.
Abuse of the mental health system is an old stand-by of dictatorships. The old Soviet Union notoriously defined dissent from the party line, no matter how obviously foolish the party line was, as proof positive of mental illness requiring the dissident to be put away and kept drugged.
I expect from what I’ve read of her that Marine posted the awful scenes with the intention of showing her countrymen reality: which is that medieval, inhuman savages roam the world today and would destroy us in the west if they could. This is a very, very different thing to reveling in the obscenities depicted, no?
When I was arguing cases in court I always kept before me as my touchstone the old riddle: if we agree to call its tail a leg, then how many legs does a donkey have? The answer of course is just 4. Merely calling a tail a leg doesn’t make it so and never will. Objects and people all have an immutable reality and that reality is just what it is, whether we like it or not and whether we choose to look away or not.
Same thing with some dangerous religions, cultures and demographics. Calling them peaceful and life-enhancing doesn’t make them so and is cowardly.
Does anyone really doubt that Marine’s whole point in posting the images was to call attention to the reality her country faces but refuses to see?
The Left are no longer progressives or liberal: they are merely social engineers increasingly disengaged from reality and this should concern us all.

Jim says: So if I was in France and posted pictures of atrocities committed in WW II by Nazis [and their Vichy French fellow-travellers] such as the village of Oradour-sur-Glane in Haute-Vienne which was destroyed and 642 of its inhabitants, including women and children, were massacred by a German Waffen-SS company or the terrible pictures or films of concentration and extermination camps throughout occupied Europe, would that be to incite hate and “harm human dignity” too?
Actually the sentence of treatment by the psychiatric profession does not surprise me. In France autistic people like me and others in my family would be seen as mental patients: a UN study ‘found that the majority of children with autism do not have access to mainstream education and many “are still offered inefficient psychoanalytical therapies, overmedication and placement in psychiatric hospitals and institutions”. Parents who oppose the institutionalisation of their children “are intimidated and threatened and, in some cases, lose custody of their children”.’
Like in the old USSR psychiatric ”treatment” is used socially and politically to repress those who are different or step out of line.
