DeSantis: The Racist Dog Whistle Only the Left Can Hear [VIDEO]

As Amanda wrote yesterday, Florida Republican Ron DeSantis and Democrat Andrew Gillum won their respective primaries on Tuesday, setting up a contest that would make Gillum the first African-American Florida governor should he win. And of course, the mainstream media immediately withdrew its head from its collective rectum in order to facilitate that “milestone.” It was the “racist dog whistle” heard around the world that only the left is apparently able to hear.

See, DeSantis is a Trump supporter, so obviously he’s a racist, according to the pearl-clutchers at CNN. So when he said in an interview Wednesday that voters would “monkey this up” if they elected Gillum as governor, that’s apparently a racist “dog whistle,” according to Gillum and his frothing Democrat supporters. And of course, CNN has to report on this ridiculous DERP, because as long as it’s somehow critical of Republicans and Trump, it’s news worth reporting, even if it’s absolute bullshit!

“It’s very clear that Mr. DeSantis is taking a page directly from the campaign manual of Donald Trump,” Gillum told Fox News’ Shepard Smith hours later.

“Was that racist or a figment of speech?” Smith asked, referring to DeSantis’ comment.

Gillum didn’t answer the specific question, instead responding, “I’m not going to get down in the gutter with DeSantis and Trump. There’s enough of that going on.”

But Democratic groups quickly accused DeSantis of using racist dog whistles, which DeSantis’ campaign denied.

“It’s disgusting that Ron DeSantis is launching his general election campaign with racist dog whistles,” Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman Terrie Rizzo said in a statement.

The CNN story quoted above does not provide the context in which DeSantis used the common phrase. It simply provides the sensational headline and Gillum’s response, not that CNN’s ignorant fans will read much past the headline.

Never mind that in the same interview DeSantis said Gillum was an “articulate spokesman” for the far left and a “charismatic candidate.” Yeah, that certainly jives with the “RAAAAAAACIIIIIIIIST” narrative.

And never mind that what DeSantis ACTUALLY said could never be misconstrued as racist, since he was obviously talking about the economic progress in Florida under Rick Scott.

“Let’s build off the success we’ve had on Gov. Scott. The last thing we need to do is to monkey this up by trying to embrace a socialist agenda with huge tax increases bankrupting the state. That is not going to work,” DeSantis said.

It’s not like Florida’s economy hasn’t been booming and is forecast to reach $1 trillion this year.

And it’s not like Gillum was endorsed by another economic “genius,” who thinks “moral economy” is a thing and who endorsed yet another “genius,” who thinks that unemployment numbers are impacted by people working two jobs.

No, he couldn’t possibly be talking about economics! It has to be some kind of RAAAAAACIIIIISM!

Here’s the entire video for your viewing pleasure, in which DeSantis compliments Gillum for being a charismatic candidate, for being articulate and for outperforming other candidates in debates. He then clearly switches gears and talks about the economy.

So what’s a more logical assumption based on the context in which the comment was made? Was DeSantis talking about monkeying up the economy, or was he referring to his opponent using a racist term?

Anyone with half a brain knows what the answer is, and so does the media. But in a very much intentional effort to smear DeSantis’ campaign from its inception, the mainstream media outlets immediately launched coordinated attacks to paint him as a racist, and Gillum immediately fell in line, accusing DeSantis of taking a page out of Trump’s campaign book.

DeSantis –> Trump endorsement –> monkey up the economy –> RACISM!

Get it?

Never mind that DeSantis has no record of saying anything racist in the past, but apparently the mere mention of the word “monkey,” sets off leftist racism bells. So it sounds like the only “dog whistle” is the one that the unhinged left pretends to hear anytime anyone who even marginally supports Trump opens their mouth.

But this hasn’t stopped the lying shit weasels at CNN from distorting the comment with a wildly false headline, because much like anyone in the news business knows, most people won’t even read past the headline to find out what actually has been said!

Stupid is as stupid derps, I guess.

Apparently, according to the Democrats, any mention of a simian in a conversation that also happens to mention an African-American is racist – even if it’s a well-established idiom.

But comparing George W. Bush to a chimp is still OK.

Nobody but the Left automatically thinks of black people in the context of “monkeys.” It would seem that the racism is at the top of their minds.
