Dear Liberal Media FYI We Hate You Too

As everyone in the known Universe is well aware, the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner was held on Saturday night in Washington, D.C.. The President of the United States elected not to attend. Proving, once again, that he is smarter than the formerly “ink stained wretches” that cover him. The White House Correspondents’ Association proved, once again, that they hate the average American. That’s okey dokey because we hate them too.

I will not rehash the unholy mess that the alleged journalists presented to the world. Nina Bookout covered the dumpster fire aspect here and Lisa Carr covered the Nasty Women performance art here.

No, I am going to focus on the reciprocal hatred between the “Average American” and the “Elite Journalist”. When it comes to elite, it doesn’t get any more elite than the White House beat. These reporters of all things newsworthy call their dinner the “Nerd Prom”, which just goes to show how smart they think they are. If I were to think of a “Nerd Prom”, I would think of programmers, aerospace engineers or biochemical researchers. Journalists? It makes one laugh that they think they are that smart. So, um, climb down from your high horse, people.

Margaret Talev, pictured above, has a good story to tell. She is the daughter of Bulgarian immigrants and having a good immigration story is a “what counts?” factor for the liberal media. Miss Talev went on some random CNN show to defend the clusterf**k over which she had presided Saturday night. You only have to watch the first minute of the video.

To recap Margaret Talev’s salient points:

My aim and the way I sought to put together the program was to build a spirit of unity in that room, to rally around journalism and why it’s important and I worked really hard to do that with my own speech…

Dear Madam:

Journalism is not under attack. Journalism is important and can stand on its own. Fake news and Liberal bias is under attack.

That is all.

Then, with that fixed smile and condescending tone, Miss Talev goes on to lament:

My only regret is that to some extent those fifteen minutes are now defining four hours of what was really a wonderful, unifying night and I don’t want the cause of unity to be undercut.”

How about the cause of the truth and basic common, garden variety, good manners. There is a difference the size of the Grand Freaking Canyon between the First Amendment and Junior High School Mean Girls behavior. You know that and you know what you did, Miss Talev.

As reported by The Hill.com, Miss Talev made the following remarks at the dinner:

“We reject efforts by anyone, especially our elected leaders, to paint journalism as un-American, to undermine trust between reporter and reader, or to cast doubt on the relevance of fact and truth in the modern age,”

“UnAmerican?” No, we don’t think you are un-American. We think you are liberal biased journalists. The only people undermining the “trust between reporter and reader” is the reporters. You hate us. We get it. You think that the average American is racist, bigoted, homophobic, illiterate and eats too much.

Well, we hate you too. We think you are a bunch of condescending, lying, liberal mean girls. Even the boys. And, guess what? You proved it on Saturday night at the Swine Prom.

What’s worse? Bill Hemmer on Fox News today said that the WHCD is a fund raiser. Who knew? All those millionaires and billionaires in that room and you only raised $100,000. Shame on you. I know PTA groups who raise that much in a school year. They are not getting money from millionaires and billionaires. They are selling spirit items and breakfast biscuits to high school kids. Just another reason we hate the liberal media.

Sorry Toni, I’ll have to disagree with you just a bit.. Ms. Talev, and many others there ARE Un-American!. They are doing their level best to destroy everything that made this country great, and to turn it into a communist run, third world shithole!

Scott is right. They are un-American. They are also filthy, degenerate, morally depraved Communist scum guilty of complicity in the Marxist genocide of 100+ million people – a concept that a DAUGHTER OF BULGARIAN IMMIGRANTS might be aware of.

Dear margaret, you suck and so does your organization. You are a disgrace to your profession.

That statement is why we can’t stand you, Miss Talev (you should be ashamed of yourself) for taking criticism of the press and painting it as you being un-American (tho unfortunately many of you are).

The criticism of the press is directed at the many who are unworthy of being called journalists or reporters. They are editors and columnists wearing a reporter’s suit with no idea on how to be objective.

The WHCD fundraisers only raises $100,000? That is also shameful.

The annual Goddard dinner in D.C. has always been referred to as the Space prom. FWIW.

  • Larry J says:

“Elite”. They keep using that word but it does not mean what they think it means. They aren’t elite journalists. They’re just overpaid DNC operatives.

this statement pretty much sums up “journalism”
“Modern journalism is all about deciding which facts the public shouldn’t know because they might reflect badly on Democrats.” – Jim Treacher

  • GWB says:

    to paint journalism as un-American
Well, no matter how poorly Trump might tweet it, it’s not journalism being painted as in-American. That would be ludicrous. No, sweety, it’s journalists who are being painted as in-American. Because so very, very many of you *ARE*.

to undermine trust between reporter and reader
No, sweetcheeks, that is what journalists are doing. By lying and scheming.

or to cast doubt on the relevance of fact and truth in the modern age
Well, it’s actually your philosophy – progressivism – that does that exact thing. Heck, you teach it in our schools and you broadcast it on your tv shows, your newspapers, and on the internet DAILY. You breathe out about “narrative” and “that person’s truth” and “this person’s truth” every single time you write.

And, let me be clear, when I say “you” I’m looking specifically at the folks who think so highly of themselves. The folks who are doing real journalism? They know better than to think of themselves as highly as you all do.

    Dunning-Kruger Effect, anyone?

No, I don’t think that they do know it. When it comes to contemporary journalism, I am reminded of that line from from National Lampoon: “Be assured that a walk through the ocean of most souls would scarcely get one’s feet wet.”

I am of two minds on listening to ‘highlights’ of the Correspondents’ Dinner. Michelle Wolf’s voice cracked two fillings in my molars. But on the up side, her voice also lithotripted my kidney stone. So I gotta give her props for that.

My aim and the way I sought to put together the program was to build a spirit of unity in that room

In that room? In that cloistered little bubble of groupthink knowitalls?

You treated it as a gang meeting of the Crips. Our precious selves uber alles. Your mindset is so rigidly narrow that you omit everyone outside that room – the customers for the ‘news’ with which the ‘journalists’ are supposed to inform the voters of the entire country, whatever their party or their beliefs.

If you ever get a ‘next time’, which I hope you don’t, open your brain to include the Americans on whose behalf those ‘journalists’ are supposed to work. THAT would be the unity of importance, not just the selfish unity of one room.

  • Don says:

They aren’t worth the bother. They’re arrogant, narcissistic, whiny children who couldn’t see the truth if slapped with it. I don’t bother listening or reading anything from these tinkerbell children.
