This morning on Fox News Sunday, David Axelrod of the Obama campaign and Rich Beeson of the Romney campaign were interviewed separately by Chris Wallace, talking last-minute campaign strategy. When Chris brought up Libya with David Axelrod, Axelrod laughed. Yes, seriously.
David Axelrod laughs about Libya
Some may say after watching the clip and reading the transcript that he’s only laughing because he knew he would be asked that very question. Maybe. But I think that’s what he and the rest of the bloodless Obama Administration really do think about the situation; that it’s “amusing” they would even be asked such questions about the terrorist attack in Benghazi. I think they believe they are above Benghazi and what happened there. Yes, he smirked, because Axelrod simply finds the fact that he must endure questions (from FOX of all networks) on Benghazi, laughable.
The truth is that “the laugh” was a symptom of the fact that David Axelrod, the right hand man to the most powerful person on the planet, doesn’t have the moral compass to reflect the seriousness of the incident when asked a question on a Sunday talk show.
So here’s a tip to the Obama Campaign should, after the election, we ever have to see these horrible people again: the families of Ambassador Stevens, Sean Smith, Ty Woods and Glen Doherty aren’t laughing. In fact, Benghazi, Libya will never, ever be funny.
