Who Did Kash Patel Just Promote?

Looks like Kash Patel, the FBI Director appointed by Donald Trump, has some explaining to do. He just promoted snake-in-a-suit Steven Jensen to Assistant Director in charge of the Washington field office. You remember Jensen, right? He’s the strategist behind the FBI’s aggressive January 6 dragnet—and the guy who greenlit targeting parents at school board meetings and Catholics attending Latin Mass. So yeah… what’s up, Kash?

Smoke and Mirrors

I was willing to overlook the fact that he didn’t turn those hollowed-out FBI buildings into museums on Day 1—because no one seriously expected that. But I was holding out hope he’d clean house at the Bureau, not hand out promotions to the same swamp creatures who helped rot it from the inside.

Plucking him from relative obscurity in South Carolina to head the FBI’s most powerful field office sends exactly the wrong message.

It has caused consternation across the spectrum, from Judicial Watch and the Heritage Foundation to FBI whistleblowers and J6’ers guilty of misdemeanor trespass because they walked through an open door.

While a source close to Patel swears that the director has a good reason to elevate Jensen that will be clear “this week or within a month,” neither he nor his deputy Dan Bongino agreed to an interview, and the FBI has refused to comment on the issue. – Miranda Devine, New York Post

My guess—and I’m sure I’m not the only one—is that the obvious question is: what dirt does Jensen have on Kash Patel? Because promoting this guy makes zero sense otherwise. If there’s some brilliant reason for elevating a swamp-soaked operator like Jensen, I’m all ears. But until then, it reeks. I’m sure that’s not the real reason, but something’s strange about it; yes?

And Dan Bongino, former abrasive podcast king turned Kash’s right-hand man, is staying strangely silent on the whole mess. The shiny new FBI Deputy Director posted some vague “trust me” X-posts, but conveniently left out any mention of this particular promotion and names. It’s the usual routine: he knows the “trust me” line is a joke, but he still expects everyone to buy it. Classic dodge.

Feeling Betrayed

Whistleblowers like Steve Friend—who risked everything to expose the FBI’s internal corruption in the first place—aren’t exactly thrilled either. And who could blame them? Promoting someone like Jensen isn’t just tone-deaf, it’s a full-on slap in the face to the very people who tried to clean up the mess. It sends a loud message: protect the system, not the truth.

“Steven Jensen weaponized the FBI to persecute Americans over January 6th,” says Steve Friend, who blew the whistle to Congress about dangerous and unnecessary SWAT raids on cooperative misdemeanor suspects and the manipulation of statistics to make the so-called “domestic terrorism” threat from that day look more widespread than it really was.

After nine years as an FBI agent, Friend resigned after five months of indefinite unpaid suspension for refusing to participate in a J6 raid and is currently unemployed.

“Jensen’s promotion to head the Washington Field Office is analogous to placing Anthony Fauci in charge of Health and Human Services,” he says. – New York Post

I agree, Mr. Friend, it certainly does feel like a betrayal.

What about investigating the Mar-a-Lago raid, the Biden family cover-up, or the ongoing censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story? Has that train already left the station with no answers? MAGA wanted the FBI to focus on real threats of crime and corruption, not the same old song and dance.

While I appreciate the recent efforts to get drugs off America’s streets, let’s not forget the other promises you made, Mr. Patel. The clock is ticking, and it’s time to step up and actually deliver. And for the love of all that’s decent, stop promoting a turncoat like Steven Jensen.
