Veteran Sings “Remember Pearl Harbor” for President Trump

Today in remembrance of the 76th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence invited six World War II veterans to the White House. Five of the men appeared to be white and one appeared to be black.

These six men also appeared to be very fragile, but they are giants among the men of the Earth.

As President Trump delivered his written remarks, he said “Remember Pearl Harbor”. He turned to the veterans and said, “Have you heard that a time or two?” Immediately, the hero to his right began singing “Remember Pearl Harbor”.

Notice how President Trump steps back to allow the veteran to shine. According to the Independent Journal Review, that veteran hero is Mickey Ganitch, a retired Chief Quartermaster from the USS Pennsylvania, which was dry-docked in the Pearl Harbor Navy Yard at the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

We “Remember Pearl Harbor” today and are grateful today and everyday that men like Mickey Ganitch walk this Earth. Thank you for your service to all the survivors of the Greatest Generation. May men and women like you continue to bless our Nation and God Bless the United States of America.

One of the few videos I managed to watch. It was great. Trump really did seem a bit confounded – a “pretty sure this wasn’t on the agenda” look. Then he gives him an awkward pat on the shoulder and just steps back out of their way. A perfectly normal reaction, followed by a “dang, I’m just gonna move over and let them shine.”

A hearty salute to these gentlemen for their service. And a hearty salute of a different kind to those who would prefer pajama boys to these sorts in our military.
