We could call it the YUUUUGE ultimatum, but that would be too easy.
Trump doesn’t like how Cruz is running his campaign, so he’s ordering Cruz to behave, OR ELSE.
If @TedCruz doesn’t clean up his act, stop cheating, & doing negative ads, I have standing to sue him for not being a natural born citizen.

Twitter sat back and tried to make sense of this threat.
.@realDonaldTrump You believe legal standing is only triggered if people persist in being mean to you? Does Trump U have a law school?

As the probably most litigious guy ever, you'd think @realDonaldTrump would have a better handle on the law, by now.

@realDonaldTrump @tedcruz But if he does clean up his act, you don't have standing? #logic

At this point, there are so many people trying to put their two cents’ worth in about what the words “natural born citizen” means (even though the leftist Politifact agrees that Cruz is most likely eligible to run), that some kind of ruling is probably necessary. And now the suit that may settle this, once and for all, has been made public, thanks to Trump supporters.
The lawsuit, filed Feb. 3 at a district court in Alabama, seeks a judgment “declaring that Rafael Edward Cruz is ineligible to qualify/run/seek and be elected to the Office of the President of the United States of America” due to his Canadian birth.
Cruz was born in Calgary, Canada, to an American mother.
Several of the five plaintiffs — Sebastian Green, Shannon Duncan, Kathryn Spears, Kyle Spears and Jerry Parker — are backing Trump in the Republican primary, their attorney, Thomas Drake, told The Hill, although he said others are still undecided.
“The only thing they can agree on is Mr. Cruz is not eligible to be president,” Drake said.
The lawsuit cites Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution, which rules that “no person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of president.”
Under that clause, the plaintiffs claim, “Cruz is not a ‘natural born’ citizen of the United States of America.”
So, now all that’s left is for Donald Trump to publicly support his supporters’ lawsuit. After all, he made the threat, he should have the guts to back up those who have already filed the suit, right? He’ll probably be thrilled that someone else did the work for him.
I find trump so offensive I cannot even stand to capitalize his name. Ted Cruz is one of the Brightest, Most Righteous Minds In Government since Reagan. I will support Him To the Finish, when HE Becomes Our Nations Next President
Ted Cruz is a fine candidate, but this albatross must be removed from his neck once and for all.
Don’t think for a moment that the Democrats will shrink from raising the issue if Cruz is the nominee.
The only sure way to put this controversy to rest is to have the question go to the Supreme Court.
Mr. Cruz should himself ask the SCOTUS for an advance ruling. That would demonstrate both courage and commitment to the rule of law.
That being said, I don’t blame Cruz for not doing so – John Roberts has already demonstrated his instability by his shocking conduct in the Obamacare ruling. It would be extremely dangerous for Cruz to put his fate in this court’s hands.
Dangerous, but if Cruz is to be the nominee, necessary.
