Trump has made the NCAA Wrestling Championships in Philadelphia his latest sports-focused appearance and the crowd went wild.
Like the Super Bowl, leftists would aim to convince readers and viewers that there were more jeers than cheers. (Actually, it was Taylor Swift who was audibly boo’ed at the Super Bowl.) Were some attendees boo’ing Trump? Sure. We’ll take that. But, as we hear the “USA” chants towards the end of the above clip, we have no reason to believe that attendees and participants were not happy to see the President show his support for a sport that is under-attended and, sadly underrated.
Trump sat with Elon Musk, Oklahoma Sen. Markwayne Mullin, Sen. Dave McCormick and U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan and White House chief of staff Susie Wiles. Still, haters gonna hate:
Why isn't he working? I can't afford eggs!

We’re going to the big fight. The reason I’m going is in Philadelphia. They have the NCAA, world, wrestling for college. And I’ve always supported the wrestlers. So, I want to support them. These are the great college wrestlers from the various schools. I think Penn State is leading, and Nebraska is in second place right now. And a lot of good things.”-Donald J. Trump
Penn State took the Championship and Trump was there to shake hands with and even hug the wrestlers at the Wells Fargo Center. But AP threw a few jabs in:
In the two-plus months since returning to the White House, Trump attended the Super Bowl in New Orleans and the Daytona 500 in Florida, where his motorcade drove a portion of the track. While president-elect he went to a UFC fight in New York.
That’s more travel for sports than for policy announcements or official duties…”-Will Weissert, AP
Really, AP? That’s more travel for anything when we compare to the likes of Joe Biden. But AP is gonna AP:
The president said he also planned to host the Kansas City Chiefs after the Eagles, saying that the visit would make up for one that couldn’t happen when the Chiefs won the 2020 Super Bowl because of the coronavirus pandemic.
That’s despite Trump’s predecessor, Democratic President Joe Biden, having hosted the Chiefs after they won the title in 2023, a visit that was considered as also making up for the missed White House stop in 2020.”-Will Weissert, AP
Old Man Biden already hosted the Chiefs. No need for Trump to make a spectacle of this, even though 2020 was during his time in The White House. As if AP cannot get any more petty in their reporting, wait for it:
The president has used most Saturdays and Sundays to play golf at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, though he also sometimes remained in Washington to give weekend speeches.”-Will Weissert, AP
Except, this past Saturday, Trump did not gold at Mar-a-Lago. Trump went to Wells Fargo Center to support the NCAA wrestlers. But, AP and the likes of the liberal media bobbleheads would much rather report on a senile old man’s “much needed relaxation” in Rehoboth Beach and Barack and Michelle Obama’s respites from their “grueling schedules” (of grifting) in Martha’s Vineyard. These, according to the elite media, are the hard-working, public-servant- policy-makers in The United States.
He said he was very proud of me. He came here to support his troops, I put on a show for him, I wanted that national title. Commander in chief right there baby. I was really excited to have him here.’-Wyatt Hendrickson, Oklahoma State
A man of the people doing normal people stuff.

To the liberals, who are commenting on “manly men doing manly things”, I will say this. Having a son who wrestled in junior high and high school, it is one of the most underrated of the sports. All of the hype is focused in these formative years around the football, basketball and baseball games and their athletes. Pages are dedicated to them in the yearbooks. They are more celebrated and better-funded. I am not saying the young men from these sports do not train hard, (they do) but wrestlers have a grit that does not compare. Your wins are your wins. Your losses are your losses. Your takedowns, your reversals, your tech falls, your pins are all yours. You sacrifice your favorite meals to make weigh-ins. You are up, early in the mornings and spending all day inside of a sweaty bleachers in a gymnasium or a colosseum. And, sometimes, if you don’t “make weight”, your coach has you run around the building several times, already starving because you wait to eat breakfast, before you strip down to your underwear to get on that scale. Then, and only then, can you eat. If you’re lucky, you make it through the season without an injury or a skin condition (Impetigo is a badge of honor in some of these circles.)
Going on to do college wrestling is unlike college football or basketball. It is not glamorous, nor is any one athlete going to make millions of dollars doing this. These men have chosen this sport because they love it and all of the symbolism it represents. Commitment, resolve, drive, determination, toughness, grit and heart. Some of these guys are the most humble, easy-going dudes who understand hard work and that glory does not come easily. As a former wrestling mom, I can attest to wrestling ultimately shaping the young man my son is. From losing every. single. match. his first two years in junior high school, to being a bulging-biceps-138-pound powerhouse completing his fourth Varsity year as a senior in 2024. He understands hard work. He understands dedication. And, yes, he has been humbled many times. He also understands how not to be petty. (Something our “journalists” on the left hand side need to learn.)
Trump’s appearance at the NCAA Wrestling Championships yesterday was an epic takedown. They (the liberal left) hate this. I, for one, am glad he showed up at a sporting event to support these unsung athletes who bust their asses. My son was scarce in his communications with us yesterday because he was with friends, glued to the TV, cheering on the guys on the mat. He might have also chanted a “USA” here and there as well when he saw his President enter the arena.

You people have been complaining since he started passing EOs and getting official duties done and now you’re complaining when he doesn’t do that.
