Quite frankly, President Trump’s State of the Union speech was more substantive than I bargained for. Choosing Greatness was the theme, and he highlighted that throughout his speech. It was a speech calmly delivered yet rife with American optimism. In contrast, Stacey Abrams’ speech was chock full of negativity and victimhood.
President Trump’s speech can be read here. Here are just a few of the highlights of his and our vision of all that is great about this amazing Republic.
Trump’s slam on abortion was needed and welcome
To defend the dignity of every person, I am asking Congress to pass legislation to prohibit the late-term abortion of children who can feel pain in the mother’s womb. Let us work together to build a culture that cherishes innocent life. And let us reaffirm a fundamental truth: all children — born and unborn — are made in the holy image of God.
Socialism is wrong on every level
“We are born free, and we will stay free. Tonight, we renew our resolve that America will never be a socialist country,” Trump said.
And so much more. One of the most interesting moments of the night, aside from the sweet Happy Birthday song to Judah Samet, a Holocaust concentration camp survivor, was this:
What’s so funny about all that is that the Democrat women in all their white robed idiocy had to actually DISCUSS whether they were going to stand and cheer or not!
In direct contrast was Stacey Abrams response. First of all, it was a campaign speech. Secondly, it was one of doom, gloom, negativity and victimhood. Not only that, but the entire crowd of men, women, and children standing behind her looked kind of zombieish.
Stacey Abrams: "Making livelihoods of our federal workers a pawn for political games is a disgrace. The shutdown was a stunt engineered by the President of the United States" https://t.co/N5oZfxvFs3 pic.twitter.com/WoX6MOJn6I

Guess what Stacey, Nancy and Chuck had a lot to do with the shutdown. They kept it going because THEY wouldn’t negotiate. But sure, go ahead and blame Trump.
She whined and whinged about voter suppression. Except that she’s totes ok with illegals voting in our elections.
Margaret Hoover asked Democrat Stacey Abrams if she supports non-citizens voting in local elections.
Abrams responded: " I wouldn’t oppose it." pic.twitter.com/QjshlW5Se5

Meanwhile, people are crushed. *eyeroll
“In Georgia and around the country, people are striving for a middle class where a salary truly equals economic security,” Abrams said, according to her prepared remarks. “But instead, families’ hopes are being crushed by Republican leadership that ignores real life or just doesn’t understand it.”
I wonder what she has to say about the low unemployment and the fact that more women than ever have jobs?
Let’s talk about her comments on reproductive rights shall we? Stacey says children should be protected from cradle to career yet also talks about the problems of maternal mortality rates, especially among black women. What is notably missing in her speech? Protecting our children and mothers from the heinous horrors of abortion.
Stacey, you want to talk about who is being crushed? Babies are being crushed through abortion every single day. Legislators cheered at the passage of a law that will murder babies up to birth. Virginia tried to pass a law that would allow for infanticide, and yet you whine about voter suppression and the fact that you lost a campaign because of your own incompetence? Give me a freaking break!
Stacey is a fan of illegal immigration.
But we must all embrace, that from agriculture to healthcare to entrepreneurship, America is made stronger by the presence of immigrants, not walls.
Sorry Stacey. Walls do work and no, children aren’t being caged.
The two speeches couldn’t have been more different. One full of optimism and one full of negativity. One full of showcasing all that we are, have been, and can be. The other full of the same Democrat trope we’ve been hearing for years.
Now I don’t know about you, but I will pass on Stacey’s negativity and victimhood. Instead, I choose Optimism. I Choose Greatness.

I am asking Congress to pass legislation
It’s not within their Constitutional purview. (And, if you stop spending unconstitutionally – medical welfare – you eliminate the one place where the fed has any business talking about abortion.)
“We are born free

Making livelihoods of our federal workers a pawn
I agree. Let’s eliminate the possibility of thousands of gov’t workers’ paychecks being used as weapons in political games. Eliminate the vast bureaucracy and return the fed to its Constitutional limitations. Then there won’t be all those paychecks to use as pawns.
leadership that ignores real life or just doesn’t understand it
Project much?
from cradle to career
They gotta make it alive TO the cradle, first!
America is made stronger by the presence of legal immigrants
FIFY, hun.
Oh, and walls that keep invaders out always make a country, state, or city stronger.
The other full of the same Democrat trope lies we’ve been hearing for years.
Sorry, I think you had a typo in this line. FIFY.
What GWB said!
I just got a kick out of the fact that at least half of her “rebuttal” was excerpts from her stump speeches from when she was running for Gov. of Georgia. Is she running again? Did no one from the Dem party approve her “rebuttal” before she got up to speak? Why do they think she is relevant? SHE LOST THE RACE! Sandy Occasional- Cortex is more relevant than Stacy Abrams.
But she’s still got grievances! She wuz robbed!
So, still relevant to those who rely on grievance to achieve power.
I heard she was running for the Senate. Because she’s obviously entitled to suck the public teat in SOME form or other!

I can’t look at her without seeing McDonald’s Grimace!
And no mention here of the claims that she was infront of a greenscreen? And all those folks behind her were on a loop or CGI? We can come up with fun conspiracy theories, I’m sure.
Re:GWB – was she using a Green Screen?
Certainly looks like one. She didn’t respond to what Pres. Trump said in the SOTU, but only a few generalities as to topics he was expected to address. Abrams was speaking from an undisclosed location (as if she’s so important that kind of security is warranted). But, if you wanted to ensure that any bloopers were edited out, you’d pre-record at the undisclosed location and use a Green Screen so it wouldn’t be as obvious what you’d done.
Sorry guys, but if you’re going to import, as Trump claims he wishes, more immigrants than ever (particularly from notoriously racist countries like India) you’re dancing on your grave sites. This country has enough problems already and is full enough.
