What are Biden and Harris waiting for? An engraved invitation?? We have President Trump planning a visit to Georgia and bringing necessary supplies while Governor DeSantis is deploying some of his key hurricane response teams to help. Meanwhile, the silence from the Biden-Harris team is as deafening as East Palestine or Maui.
The news reports coming out are horrifying, devastating, infuriating, and saddening. Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, and Florida were hit hard by Hurricane Helene. Massive amounts of rain, 22″ or more were dumped on those states within a matter of hours. The ground got so saturated that massive trees toppled over, blocking roadways, destroying highways, and smashing into business and homes. People were and are stranded, and as of this writing, 64 people have died.
Communication via cell phone and internet was obliterated by Helene’s massive temper tantrum. What HAS been helping is….Starlink.
You have officially connected more people (a lot) to the internet than the Kamala-Biden regime after spending $40 billion (0 people)

True story. But guess who is ALSO handing out Starlink connections so people can find their loved ones or call out for help?? FEMA
With “significant infrastructure damage” to communications networks from #HurricaneHelene, @FEMA Administrator says that “@Starlink satellites have also been moved in to facilitate the lack of communication that part of the state is experiencing.” https://t.co/4Kweh7MUDe

Communication, no matter who it is from is absolutely KEY to helping Americans get the assistance they need right now. Yet, it seems there’s communication and assistance from some, and a lack of communication or …LEADERSHIP from others. Such as Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
I don’t care that Joe’s been briefed while sunning on the beach, this is a huge natural disaster affecting multiple states. If Joe/Jill want to have a Presidential legacy that doesn’t involve him falling asleep in his Cheerios, they should at least act like they PLAN to try to DO SOMETHING!
White House briefing statements are small comfort to those who experienced Helene’s wrath.
As of today, more than 3,300 personnel from across the Federal workforce are deployed and supporting Hurricane Helene response efforts across the impacted states. This includes the most experienced incident management teams to help identity Federal resources to address unmet needs, as well as Urban Search and Rescue personnel using high water rescue equipment for rescue missions across the region.
At least 50,000 personnel from 31 states and the District of Columbia and Canada are responding to power outages and working around the clock throughout parts of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina to restore power to those communities that can receive power. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is moving generators and additional power generation assets into the hardest hit areas of South and North Carolina as flood waters recede and debris removal allows. As of this afternoon, approximately 2.3 million customers are without power, down from the region-wide peak of 4.6 million on September 27.
Don’t get me wrong, every bit of that is supremely helpful given I know firefighters who’ve spent four days in a row involved in disaster response in North Carolina. They were the immediate boots on the ground first responders running to help. And will be working tirelessly around the clock for days if not weeks to help their communities. Meanwhile, state senators are begging on social media for generators!

What I want to know is why North Carolina, a state in play for Kamala Harris, waited until yesterday to finally call in the National Guard?

They will be a huge help for sure. But again, why wait until days later? Democrat Governor Roy Cooper knows his state is in play. Disaster response and/or lack thereof resonates in a gigantic way with voters. So why did he wait so long? Is it b/c he’s of the same ilk as Tim Walz? The same Tim Walz who has, as of Sunday afternoon, NOT activated the National Guard to help?
Tim Walz has yet to deploy the Minnesota National Guard to help North Carolina and Tennessee.

Again, this is looking more and more like a Maui or East Palestine story. Ignore them, they are an inconvenience to our narrative.

Any golfers among our readers? Guess what? Augusta got HAMMERED by Helene. Pretty much the entire city is without power. And, it will be days if not weeks before gas stations are fully operable, water to homes and business are up and running with partial power restoration starting Oct 5th. And! Is anyone in the national media reporting that the home of THE MASTERS Tournament got hit?? NOPE. Only golf and sports media are talking about this.

With the advent of Helene dumping her wrath on multiple states, one thing is clear. Who is capable of responding to actually HELP and who just offers platitudes.
HOW DARE HE CARE??!!
Former President Donald Trump is making Hurricane Helene into a campaign issue, planning a stop in storm-ravaged, battleground Georgia on Monday and criticizing the Biden administration’s response with just weeks left until the November election.
During a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, Trump accused President Joe Biden of “sleeping” at his beach house in Delaware and dragged Vice President Kamala Harris for holding fundraising events in California over the weekend “when big parts of our country have been devastated by that massive hurricane.”
Trump will be in Georgia tomorrow. Ron DeSantis has sent troops, supplies and rescue to North Carolina. What are Joe and Kamala waiting for? An engraved invite to a specialized photo op?

"Are there any more resources the federal government could be giving them?"

Or will Glad Hands Tim Walz and WIMPTASTIC Doug Emhoff end up as their stand-in’s?

Nina,
I can’t believe I’m defending these two clowns in the slightest, but similar charges were leveled against President Bush, and they were wrong then as well. The federal govt. is limited in what it can do, UNTIL the governor of a state declares a state of emergency, and requests help.
Now, they certainly can / should be spinning up resources in anticipation of such a request, but just like Louisiana during Katrina, it was the state / local politicians that screwed around too long, not the President.
Prayers to all the first responders, who as you pointed out, are the boots on the ground (I’ve got a LOT of friends working down there right now) and here’s hoping that they and all those affected get the resources they need, without the politicians mucking it up.
Maybe because Ukraine(sp) and the various wars in the middle east we are strapped?
Baloney. Currently the US is providing less than .3% of its GDP to Ukraine. I know it goes against the narrative, but data is data and facts are facts.
https://www.ifw-kiel.de/topics/war-against-ukraine/ukraine-support-tracker/
That’s at least $82 billion.
Now, the fact is that maybe a couple billion, at best, would go into real relief and recovery. At least under the Harris/Deep State administration. The rest would be sucked up by bureaucrats, grifters, and the cronies in the “renewable energy” and “organic food” industrial scams.
So, yes, wouldn’t make all that much difference…
The rest would be sucked up by bureaucrats, grifters, and the cronies….
You know, just like the money going to Ukraine. And, no, that isn’t sarcasm.
Nobody with a brain would think it was, GWB.
OTOH, one could argue that one bridge rebuilt here is more valuable than a dozen blown up over there.
And we need a lot of them rebuilt right now….
Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, and Florida were hit hard by Hurricane Helene.
One note, though. The states listed are NOT being that affected… in the areas people know as those states. This didn’t hit Richmond, NorVa, Hampton Roads, Outer Banks, Raleigh, Charleston, Atlanta, Savannah…. This hit the places “nobody” goes – at least nobody in the press. So it basically didn’t happen. What I wouldn’t give to move all the reporters out of DC, NYC, LA, and Atlanta.
they should at least act like they PLAN to try to DO SOMETHING!
Here’s where I will agree and disagree. One of my problems with our current electorate is that they all want Big Mommy to comfort them. I don’t. Basic reporting should bear out whether there FEMA trucks around and doing their thing, and power company trucks and other vehicles (like mule trains). A FEMA administrator should be able to brief the press on what’s going on in each area.
Having said that, I do understand the President should at least look like he’s paying attention. He shouldn’t be ignoring the American people. (Of course, Jill is now ignoring Joe; anyone seen the video of him talking about Teamster strikes when he was asked about the strikes in Yemen? Jill just walked by him and kept on going.)
But, there is a balance between being concerned as President, for the welfare of the people, and actually thinking his caring makes a darn bit of difference to the actual situation.
around the clock for days if not weeks to help their communities
And then on to the next community, if it’s still in trouble, then the next. Good people.
We don’t have bridges anymore.
Well, actually you do. The weird part is the bridge in the middle distance of that photo over the actual river is actually still up. And the overpass over the interstate, and whatever bridge runs off to the left. It’s just the interstate that got entirely wiped out.it looks like the river had a low spot to turn into when it flooded and that was the issue. This is the stuff engineers in the disaster response teams have to figure out.
Probably because he thinks they are just a bunch of 19 year-old cooks.
More likely, he’s an idiot who doesn’t think he can deploy National Guard out of his home state without federal authorization.
Ignore them, they are an inconvenience to our narrative.
More “We’re busy right now!”
Yeah, Helene did turn out to be a devastating hurricane. And I think some people were unprepared (partly because they hyped everything to the nth degree) to deal with it. And lots of people who normally deal with this stuff got bypassed. I’m mostly going to pray for them all and see if there’s any needs I can meet from where I am. (I’d be happy to beat a mule up an Appalachian trail if that’s needed.) I need to call my retired pastor, as he’s from Asheville.
Oh, one last thing. You forgot to bring Buttyjiggy into this. There are a couple of washed out major interstates that take goods between the interior and the east coast. Trucks will have to divert way north or way south to get over the mountains. Has he uttered a peep about that? No? Figures.
Former President Donald Trump is making Hurricane Helene into a campaign issue
Politico seems to be believe that Democrats wouldn’t do the exact same thing if we had a Republican President. Oh wait; Katrina is the proof that they would.
We have two people in charge, Joe and Kamala who can’t function for themselves let alone run a country and solve problems. So why would you expect more than they can handle ? Anyone that votes for her is going to get more of the same or worse. She is a robot . That means she has to have the switch turned on and a remote control to guide her just like Joe . Someone else will pull the strings . We need decisive leadership now . A person who can make decision and lead us but not force wacky policies on us let alone blow billions of dollars and get nothing in return but inflation and debt!
