The Arrogance of Willful Blindness…

The Arrogance of Willful Blindness…

I guess you could say the ladies and the black community now have something in common, and that is a common spot in the unemployment line.

Seems that “the man” has now got enough time to keep both of us down, which is evidenced by the growing numbers of unemployed women, whose numbers are catching up to the number of unemployed people in the black community.  I turned on the TV and the interwebs to see where I could find more information on this headline making story.  Not a peep.  Nothing but crickets.  You wouldn’t know it if you didn’t look for it.

Instead, I found this.  But at the top of Drudge yesterday, I found this, and this.

Nowhere in the Legacy Media did I see anything negative regarding how this affects the country.  Not one story about the PINO’s approval rating in free fall.  Not a snippet of news about anything related to the unmitigated disaster and 5 plus year long amateur hour that is this administration.

This isn’t about media bias, because what is happening here isn’t bias, it is malpractice.  It is willful, ignorant and blatant blindness. Like putting your hands over your eyes and turning the other way.  For these people to allege that they are “reporting” requires a suspension of disbelief  that people with a functioning brain cannot muster.

As one of my friends said over coffee; “the Nazi cloning experiment was a success, Goebbels now works for every Legacy Media outlet.”

What we are seeing with the Obumbler-Care rollout is exactly the level of weapons grade incompetence that can be expected when we let government do anything bigger than figure out what color to paint the walls of the Statehouse (and even that is a stretch).  Those of us who have stood in line at the DMV knew what was going to happen.  If there was an actual free press (with the exception of the rising tide of bloggers and Fox News) that did not have it’s lips planted firmly on the backside of this PINO, we would be hearing about all of this, and more.  Everyone with exactly 3 or more brain cells knows that if this was a Republican/Conservative (Not the same thing BTW) that we would get weeks of nightly lead offs in the A-Block of every major Legacy Media outlet about how terrible this economic news was, how the Republicans are racists and sexists for designing a website that won’t let blacks, hispanics and women sign up for healthcare, how they had three years to get this right and they were still too stupid and redneck to get it done, and how the entire cabinet should be fired and the President impeached.

At this point, maybe Bush should have proposed “Bush-Care” so that we could have at least another 50 years of the libturds reflexively railing against government control of healthcare.

The fact that no one in the Legacy Media wants to report how bad it is doesn’t surprise me.  If you spent 5 years telling everyone you knew in every way you could that the man you “married” was so awesome because he was educated, smart, a great speaker, handsome and the best man a woman could ever have, only to come to find out this far on in private that he couldn’t balance a check book, spell “check book,” figured out every witty saying by reading fortune cookies, couldn’t tie his own shoes, wrecked every car you ever owned and nearly burnt your house down; would you want to admit you were wrong?  Would you want to talk about your terrible choices?

Pride is a sin, and the Legacy Media would be forced to not only confront their incompetence, stupidity and ignorance; they would be forced to confront their beliefs.  The relationship that the Legacy Media has with this President is the most co-dependent thing I have ever seen.

Their pride is killing this country.  They are too proud to admit they were wrong about this guy,  They are too proud to confront their beliefs and actually ask tough questions, because the next passive/aggressive snit fit is just one damning editorial away.  No more press pass for you!  No exclusive access for you!

There many in the black community that are opposed to this PINO and his ideas, they won’t report it.  The country is in a death spiral of it’s own, and they won’t report it.  The economy is imploding and they won’t report it.

And as far as this new statistic goes, there are mothers (married and single) with children to feed, who would like to have the value of what they do recognized and who don’t expect others who work and pay taxes to take care of them.  The only way this happens is if this President stops dicking around with the Private Sector by scaring the pants off of them every time he opens his mouth and spouts off about new taxes, new regulation and new laws that will make it harder to do what they do to support their families.

The Legacy Media needs to stop puckering up, brush their teeth, use some mouthwash and start asking the dude, or the spokes-dude some hard questions on a much more regular basis.

It might come as a shock to them, but they are not elite enough to have their health insurance cancelled and to be out of job like some of the rest of the country.

Actually I don’t think the media feels like they were wrong about Obama – after all, they are “true believers” in the purest sense.

      Yeah. I agree Merle.

    • GWB says:

I think there are two groups: the true believers who don’t care how many eggs are broken, as long as the omelet gets made the way they want, and the sycophant liberals who are now wondering what the heck is really going on.

The difference is immaterial in many ways. But, it is the difference between the ignorant and the liars. Some of them are, let’s just say fascists-in-liberal’s-clothing. They truly want an elitist, fascist (with the socialist implications of that word) ruling class that will manage the hoi polloi for their own good, and the ends totally justify the means.

Then the rest truly believe in the ideals they have imbibed with their government-provided-milk. But, they are looking for some beautiful rainbow-and-skittles ideal where we all live in harmony and everyone has their own unicorn. They might be fools for believing it, but they aren’t actually interested in Machiavellian machinations to achieve that end.

  • GWB says:

Oh, and kudos to Dejah for another hard-hitting and well-written post. Carry on.

  • I winced the other day when my 14 year old talked about getting a job when he is in High School. My wife saw the look on my face, and was beaming the “Don’t you DARE say it!” thoughtwaves at me.

  • Kevin says:

Dejah, Dejah, Dejah (spoken as I am turning my head back and forth) … There are too many inaccuracies in your blog post to touch on all of them.

Your link and comment about “no longer counting people that have dropped out of the work force” is so old and out-of-date. How long has the Department of Labor been calculating unemployment that way? Through many many many Republican administrations as well. I’m glad to know the party with integrity will force their Republican “PINO” to count EVERYONE and stand up for truth and justice. (I’m not going to hold my breath.)

Free fall? Do you want to accurately report who is in free fall? If I’m not mistaken, the re..PUB..licans (PUBes for short) are in single digits!! Never in our history has any party been in single digits. Have we talked about a “one party system?” Keep up your disingenuous postings and you’ll hit negative numbers sooner than you think.

“Bush-Care!” “Bush-Care!” What was his proposal for a safety net? If I remember correctly it was something like a corncob to wipe your ass in lieu of toilet paper. In other words … NOTHING!

If you just read conservative blogs and watch Fox news, of course the world is coming to an end. What do you expect from your “neutral” sources? Fox news is about as neutral as MSNBC. NOT!

I’ve gotta go save the world from the PUBes … See ya

    • Dejah Thoris says:

Kevin, like most every liberal I every hear from, you have once again completely missed the point, and have no understanding of sarcasm. So, for example:

Number of days Abu Gharib was front page news (and no one died): 32.

Number of Days Benghazi was front page news (people died): 7

Number of people who went to jail over the Valerie Plame non-affair: 1

Number of people who have gone to jail for Fast and Furious and the IRS Scandal: 0

A press that doesn’t spend it’s time asking the President “what has enchanted you most about the office” might be a step in the right direction, because unlike the libTURDS, I want all leaders held accountable, including the ones I like (and hate).

And while you are out saving the world, stop by Detroit and ask them how 50 years of one party rule has worked out for them?

    • GWB says:

What was his proposal for a safety net? If I remember correctly it was something like a corncob to wipe your ass in lieu of toilet paper.

Actually, it’s not the federal government’s job to provide a safety net – there’s your MCE (Major Conceptual Error – no partial credit for you!). Oh, and under Bush we had plenty of toilet paper to wipe up sh!ts like you – it’s under the Chavez-like socialism of Obama that we’ll be resorting to corncobs.

*ahem* my apologies, ladies for the intemperate languge

        When you’re right, you’re right. 🙂

      • Kevin says:

So GWB … no social security, food stamps, indigent health care. Nothing? Let’s go one step further and move away from safety net and now talk about subsidies to farmers, propping up the dairy industry, tax exemptions for businesses (oil, automotive, travel, etc.)? Nothing? Okay … so you are on the far far far right of the spectrum. Good to know.

Section 8 of our Constitution … The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States … Did you pick out the phrase, “provide for the common defence (sic) and general welfare of the United States? Hmmm, I wonder how our lawmakers the past 236 years have been able to justify spending billions and billions of dollars on their citizens who are most vulnerable? I just can’t figure it out? It’s so confusing? Maybe you can help me GWB? Maybe?

  • Kevin says:

“Number of days Abu Gharib was front page news (and no one died): 32. Number of Days Benghazi was front page news (people died): 7” You’ve got to be kidding. Abu Gharib … the hell hole where we (US Citizens) humiliated and tortured prisoners. By “no one” I’m assuming you have decided that the prisoners who died while in Abu Gharib don’t count because they’re not people. Right? It was horrific our citizens were killed in Benghazi. It was also horrific that citizens were murdered in the Beirut marine bombing under Reagan, the Kenya embassy bombing under Clinton. All are horrific. Was Reagan responsible? Clinton? Why do you (i.e. foaming at the mouth conservatives) only want to find someone responsible when you’re not in power?

“Number of people who went to jail over the Valerie Plame non-affair: 1 … Number of people who have gone to jail for Fast and Furious and the IRS Scandal: 0” How about looking at it this way. Instead of blaming the media for not siding with you, why not look at the moron Republicans who couldn’t frickin’ find criminal proof if their life depended on it. This tells me that the scum sucking traitor who squealed on a CIA undercover agent was wrong and was found to be in the wrong so that’s why he went to jail. You would think with all the foaming at the mouth Republicans who are wetting the bed at the thought of finding a Democrat criminally liable for something THEY WOULD FIND SOMEONE LIABLE FOR SOMETHING! You know why they’re having trouble finding someone? It’s not because the members of the media are getting their libidos stroked (or other things). It’s because NO ONE HAS FOUND CRIMINAL INTENT!

Stop blaming the media and blame those on your side who can’t tell the difference between their ass and a hole in the ground. Find some evidence or shut up. The incessant whining is beneath you as an American.

    • GWB says:

“It’s because NO ONE HAS FOUND CRIMINAL INTENT! ”
No, Kevin, it’s because no one is LOOKING FOR CRIMINAL INTENT!

You have made some attempt in the past at intelligent posts, but now you’re just being a TROLL.

      • Kevin says:

You mean to tell me the Republicans (conservatives, tea party, blue dog democrats, etc. etc. etc.) aren’t looking? If they are going to depend on some 29 year Harvard grad to find the “smoking gun” then they better wake up and do something. You need start looking in the mirror first to find out who’s responsible for the situation you’re in … not stand on the overpass and point to cars as they’re speeding by 80 miles an hour and blame them.

  • Deebow says:

Kevin, you have told the world all they need to know. BDS is very unbecoming. Wipe the drool from your lip.

You rail about Abu Ghraib, yet you say nothing of the failure of this President to close your reviled Gitmo.

You don’t need criminal intent BTW, running guns into another country is an act of war. Using taxpayer information for political purposes is against the law already, regardless of your “intent.”

If the media did their job, they would be shithammering this president as hard over the IRS scandal as they did to the last president over the Iraq War.

I don’t give a damn how they vote, I want the to do their job and hold ALL politicians accountable, even the ones they like.

    • Kevin says:

“Kevin, you have told the world all they need to know. BDS is very unbecoming. Wipe the drool from your lip.” Your “BDS” reference has gone over my head. I don’t know what you mean.

“You rail about Abu Ghraib, yet you say nothing of the failure of this President to close your reviled Gitmo.” Well, we weren’t talking about Gitmo but now that you bring it up … I think President Obama lost his cohones when it came to Gitmo.

“You don’t need criminal intent BTW, running guns into another country is an act of war. Using taxpayer information for political purposes is against the law already, regardless of your “intent.” So, if it’s against the law, why isn’t someone sitting in a jail cell scratching days on the wall to count down their 20 year sentence. (NOTE: Reference my note above to GWB about not waiting for some snotty nosed Harvard grad journalist to find the smoking gun.)

“If the media did their job, they would be shithammering this president as hard over the IRS scandal as they did to the last president over the Iraq War.” Where’s the Republican party? Where are the President’s political enemies? So you mean to tell my Ted Cruz is giving some 29 year old snotty nosed Harvard journalist grad information about wrong doings and the journalist yawns and says, “Stop disturbing me in the middle of my latte?” I can’t believe when someone (democrat or republican) does something illegal, immoral or unethical a journalist doesn’t jump on it hoping they get a Pulitzer. Are there not any conservative journalists? Oh, right, Fox News. I forgot.

I don’t give a damn how they vote, I want the to do their job and hold ALL politicians accountable, even the ones they like.

  • >>>What was his proposal for a safety net? <<<

Funny. I recall a Medicare drug benefit…which I also had objections to.

Not that it matters. The plank in your eye keeps occluding your vision.

  • Section 8 of our Constitution … The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States … Did you pick out the phrase, “provide for the common defence (sic) and general welfare of the United States? It’s so confusing? Maybe you can help me GWB? Maybe?

They CAN’T justify this constitutionally, and they know it.

It certainly wasn’t what the principal authors and architects of the document had in mind when they included the phrase “general welfare” in it. How do I know? Because they TOLD us.

See The Federalist No. 33, and 44. Why was Hamilton, writing as “Publius” addressing the “general welfare” phrase, and the limitations on the Federal Government? Because a delegate to the convention named Robert Yates, who was the Anti-Federalist “Brutus” TOLD him that their posterity would not possess the same character and restraint, and would instead give that unfortunately undefined phrase the exact incorrect meaning you ascribe to it in his own published essay entitled “VI”. Unfortunately for us, Brutus was correct.

I’ll even save you the trouble of Googling these documents yourself, as you will find convenient links and excepts directly on point in this essay:

  • Oh, and they HAVEN’T been spending it in the manner you prescribe for 236 years. You start in the 1930’s with Social Security, which only exists because FDR threatened the Supreme Court with a court-packing scheme (google “The Switch In Time That Saved Nine”).

Medicare, Medicaid, and TANF came with The [Once] Great Society in the 1960s.
