Brace yourselves–the star-studded commencement season has arrived-giving colleges and universities all over the country a chance to implant agendas under the guise of sending young minds into the “real world.”
FLOTUS, Michelle Obama spoke at Tuskegee University this past weekend with a message that seemed a bit more angry than inspirational. We will spare the details but you can catch the video here:
On a side note, of course people are keeping a close eye on her in a department store since Tyson’s Galleria closes down completely when she wants to spend (our) money on a shopping binge–she’s the only one there! There has been some speculation as to whether or not she has read-up on Tuskegee University founder, Booker T. Washington‘s philosophies before addressing the graduates that day.
Meanwhile on the Hollywood circuit, Kanye West earned an honorary doctorate from the Art Institute of Chicago. Of course, throwing in a quip eluding to George W. Bush after stating “the world is my canvas”
While FLOTUS and Kanye have both race and a little dig at the Republican party covered, Georgetown University (the oldest Catholic and Jesuit institute of higher learning in the United States) has another plan-honoring advocates of abortion during its commencement ceremonies this weekend to include United Nations Secretary Ban Ki-moon and Rep. John Lewis D-GA. Ban Ki-Moon affirmed the importance of “sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights” for women at a U.N. meeting last September. Lewis, voted against the prohibition of partial-birth abortions as well as minor restrictions to abortion and earned a NARAL pro-abortion rating of 100 percent in 2013 and 2014.
“We are fortunate to welcome an extraordinary breadth and depth of leaders to share their insight during this year’s Commencement Weekend. Our speakers bring a great range of perspectives from their experience as distinguishe” sd leaders in journalism, public health, international law and public office and will inspire our graduates as they take the next step toward their professional, academic and personal aspirations.”–Georgetown University President, John DeGioia. (Breitbart)
But that’s not all–Lt. Governor, Kathy Hochul will receive an honorary doctorate at Hilbert College in Hamburg, New York this week. Hochul was described as an advocate for women who are “denied access to critical healthcare services.”
Because abortion now, is billed as “critical healthcare”.
Character, not circumstances, makes the man.
Booker T. Washington
As we let these future leaders loose into the world and out of the warm and fuzzy arms of the university and college systems, we are left to wonder how these philosophies of race-baiting, political division and ethical division will manifest themselves in their workplaces, their communities and with their friends and families and into their character–the very fiber of their being. They go out into this world thinking the “world is their canvas” and exercising their opinions saying they are “tolerant” and “embrace diversity.” They embrace this “diversity” as long as they don’t encounter opposing viewpoints–but they try, every chance they get, to get into a discussion with you and when you finally give in because you can’t take it anymore, they get all butt-hurt if your opinion differs from theirs. They get offended and they mock others for their convictions and beliefs. Where is the character in those actions? They will continue to not hear anything even if it makes sense from an opposing political party because pop culture (a “doctor” married to a woman who got famous from the release of a sex tape) tells us who to vote for. Are we really looking at the character of these celebrities? They will continue to think that people are making “assumptions” about them or “slighting them” or “looking right past them” based on their race, their name, the neighborhood they come from–instead of their character–because clearly, it’s not about that–it’s all about their race. And, they will continue to think of the practice of abortion as a “critical healthcare issue” as “preventative medicine” as opposed to an option (that is not a viable one for at least one person involved.) By calling abortion “critical healthcare” perhaps they can rest easy that there isn’t another (human) who has a right to develop a character in the equation. While caps are being thrown into the air, we sit back and watch and throw our hands in the air and hope that the “real world” does not tear these kids up or at least gives them a backbone after being force-fed philosophies that are fundamentally detrimental to us as a people.
The world is your canvas. Godspeed, Class of 2015, Godspeed.
