We woke up this morning to the tragedy of a deranged man driving a truck into the crowds on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
At least 10 people were killed and dozens injured after a terrorist rammed a truck into crowds on the famed Bourbon Street in New Orleans before jumping out and shooting cops — just hours after the city rang in the New Year, according to officials.
“The city of New Orleans was impacted by a terrorist attack,” Mayor LaToya Cantrell said of the carnage early Wednesday — with the FBI soon confirming it was investigating it as “an act of terrorism.”
The unidentified driver, who police said was “hellbent” on “carnage,” was shot and killed in a gun battle with cops, confirmed the FBI, which was also investigating possibly improvised explosives left at the scene. Two cops shot in the gun battle were listed in stable condition, police said.
Photos from the scene showed a white pickup truck with Texas plates crashed into a crane — with a black object attached to a flag pole at the back.
As with all horrific incidents like this, information was flying and not all of it was quite clear in the early hours after the attack. There were multiple conflicting reports. INCLUDING New Orleans PD, and two different FBI agents contradicting themselves as to what kind of attack this is.
Furthermore, there is conflicting information as to what barriers were or weren’t in place to cordon off Bourbon and Canal Streets to keep everyone safe. Some of the main barriers were removed in November and wouldn’t be back in place for over three months??
Given that the Sugar Bowl is to take place today and the Super Bowl happens in a few week, if the barriers WEREN’T in place, that’s a huge problem not only because of this terror attack, but for the security surrounding the Super Bowl.
As for additional conflicting information that’s been circulating since 330 am this morning, there were reports that the truck was caught on camera crossing into Texas just two days ago at the Eagle Pass crossing. But now we find out that the truck was driven into the U.S. by someone on November 16, 2024. Yet the driver and the shooter are not the same person. And what kind of truck was it?
The suspect in the New Year’s Day attack in New Orleans, which left at least 10 dead and 35 injured, used a Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck to carry out the horrific act. The vehicle’s significant weight, largely due to its massive battery pack, may have contributed to the extent of the carnage.
The Ford F-150 Lightning, the electric version of the popular F-150, weighs approximately 6,500 pounds—over 1,000 pounds more than its gasoline-powered counterpart. This additional weight is primarily due to the battery pack, which alone weighs around 1,800 pounds.

The heavy electric truck’s added mass likely amplified the devastation when the suspect intentionally drove it into a crowded area on Bourbon Street. The truck’s sheer weight, combined with its speed, resulted in catastrophic consequences.
Add to that that electric vehicles are not only HEAVIER but they are QUIETER. Which makes this attack even worse.
The shooter has been identified as Shamsud Din Jabbar.
I can confirm that Shamsud Din Jabbar was carrying a Glock and a .308 rifle that had been reported stolen in New Jersey.

My first thought on seeing that information regarding the terrorist, and he was by any and all definitions, was “OH SHIT.” A home-grown terrorist, a native of Houston with an IT background?
The perpetrator of the New Orleans truck attack, Shamsud Din Jabbar, was raised in Texas and was in the U.S. Army Reserve from 2015 to 2020. Additionally, according to Karol Markowicz of the NY Post and Fox News, he had a stolen Glock and a .308 rifle with him. pic.twitter.com/TOdhZVF8R7

And, it’s been disappeared, but folks have been able to get info on his time in the Army.
Shamsud-Din Jabbar's LinkedIn profile was deleted but here are its ghost remnants:

Where has he been since he left Deloitte in 2022? I hate to say it, but it’s highly likely the FBI had this guy on their radar. Particularly in light of the fact that sources are saying there are four to five others involved.

And that a fire at an Airbnb in NOLA is directly related to the terrorist, and that two other IED type devices were found and detonated in the French Quarter.
At 6 am in New Orleans officers found an explosive device near the Cathedral in the French Quarter. They discovered two devices and safety detonated both. Thank God. pic.twitter.com/aG7HTCmNgD

Plus, it WAS an ISIS flag flying on the back of the truck that was covered up by a coat.
Again, if the FBI had this guy or the others on their radar…people need to be FIRED and Mayorkas held totally responsible. Especially given that we KNOW that DHS had lost track of at least 50 illegals in this country who have ISIS ties. Did any of them hook up with the dead terrorist to plan this?
This was a terrorist using a truck to kill at least 15 people and injure over 35 others. It has happened before in Nice, at German Christmas Markets, and in New York City. All of which have the trademarks of what prior ISIS terrorists have done. And, we’ve known since this summer that ISIS has crawled out from under all the rocks, while the Biden Administration does …NOTHING.
As more information comes to light over the next days and weeks, we also need to keep the families of those killed in our prayers and hope for the recoveries of those injured in this terrorist attack.

The EV F-150 weighs about 1,000 lbs more than an ICEF-150, making it an Assault Truck. Another EV, a Testa truck burned in front of the Las Vegas Trump Tower. Clearly, EVs are Assault Vehicles and we need reasonable EV control laws banning them.
He’s black, a muslim and had an ISIS rag on his truck. This story is dead within the next day or two.
Especially when it comes out that he was a registered democrat..
