And just like that, “T-Swizzle” comes out of the woodwork and breaks her political silence. This from 10 months ago:
So much has changed. In a lengthy statement on Instagram, Swift broke her silence today against Tennessee Senate Republican nominee, Marsha Blackburn:
I cannot vote for someone who will not be willing to fight for dignity for ALL Americans, no matter their skin color, gender or who they love. Running for Senate in the state of Tennessee is a woman named Marsha Blackburn. As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn. Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me. She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry. These are not MY Tennessee values. I will be voting for Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for House of Representatives. Please, please educate yourself on the candidates running in your state and vote based on who most closely represents your values. For a lot of us, we may never find a candidate or party with whom we agree 100% on every issue, but we have to vote anyway.
So many intelligent, thoughtful, self-possessed people have turned 18 in the past two years and now have the right and privilege to make their vote count. But first you need to register, which is quick and easy to do. October 9th is the LAST DAY to register to vote in the state of TN. Go to vote.org and you can find all the info. Happy Voting!-Taylor Swift
Just last year, fashion and lifestyle mag, Marie Claire, bullied Swift on her apolitical stance:
“Taylor is not required to be open about her politics, of course, but it’s also fair to question her decision to remain silent in what was a particularly contentious and consequential presidential battle.”-Marie Claire
The ACLU attacked Swift as well:
The (ACLU) sent Swift’s legal team a strongly worded letter denouncing her threat to sue a California blogger who, without any evidence, accused the singer of supporting the white supremacy movement.”
Bay Area Blogger, Meghan Herning, used this as her argument:
On the other hand, the idea that Taylor Swift is an icon of white supremacist, nationalists, and other fringe groups, seems to finally be getting mainstream attention. But the dog whistles to white supremacy in the lyrics of her latest single are not the first time that some have connected the (subtle) dots. A white supremacist blogger from neo-Nazi site The Daily Stormer was quoted in a Broadly article in May 2016 as saying, “it is also an established fact that Taylor Swift is secretly a Nazi and is simply waiting for the time when Donald Trump makes it safe for her to come out and announce her Aryan agenda to the world.” What “facts” the blogger is pointing to are unclear (and likely invented); still, his statement exemplifies how neo-Nazis and white supremacists look to her as their pop icon.-Meghan Herning
Still, the question begs…why now? Unless she’s serving as a “mothers’ little helper” because her fan base is not quite old enough to vote yet. But, good on ya, Tay.
Hey @taylorswift13 –
You just endorsed a Democrat in the Tennessee senate race with a ridiculous statement saying Marsha Blackburn, a woman, is against women
You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about
Your career has never recovered since Kanye ended it

Ouch.
📲 | Katy Perry, Hayley Williams, Reese Witherspoon, Gigi Hadid, Todrick Hall, Haim, Jack Antonoff, Lucy Hale, Martha Hunt, Ruby Rose, Kacey Musgraves, Cindy Crawford, Karamo (Queer Eye), Sofia Carson and Austin Swift all liked Taylor’s Instagram post. pic.twitter.com/0kWG84Ftjx

Oh, gag. Jack “The Dog” Antonoff (ex of Lena Dunham)? And, of course Katy Perry (takes a singer whose career is in le toilet to know another). And, I don’t know about you…but I’m sure Gigi Hadid has some pretty intellectual political opinions as most models do.
Did it have something to do with the Kavanaugh vote? I can smell a bandwagon from a mile away…
Taylor Swift: Never trust a cat person.
Kidding, but on a serious note, she just endorsed a guy who was accused of covering up multiple cases of sexual assault in his Office while governor of Tennessee in 2005. So there’s that.

And then, of course, there’s this:
On the heels of @taylorswift13 feeling the need to, as all Hollywood elitists do, use black people and minorities as pawns to brainwash people into doing their bidding— I would like come out to Tennessee and campaign for @MarshaBlackburn.
Marsha, let’s do this! #MAGA

So much for haters gonna hate. She’s the haters’ darling today. Personally, I see a pinky-ringed record label publicist (AKA a serpent) whispering in her ear:
“Psst…Taylor…your songs of jilted, heartbroken teenage angst are not cutting it anymore. You’ve got to do something. I know! Kavanaugh. EVERBODY’S talking about it. It’s time you break your silence and come out for your team.”
Could it be Swift has some damage control to do before appearing at her first awards show in three years? The music industry knows that in Liberal land, if you vote Republican, you’re a “Nazi”. Apparently, if you are an entertainer (and a talented one at that) and choose to remain apolitical, you’re also a “Nazi”. It is clear that Taylor needed to capitulate after all of these claims lest she be found out! I mean, Marie Claire refusing her a magazine cover because she did not pledge her allegiance? GASP! Can’t have that now, can we? And, we couldn’t possibly have arenas packed with hysterical preteen girls being brainwashed into being white supremacists at one of her shows. You know, it’s all in the subliminal stage lighting.

And another celebrity dope makes their stupidity known.
They never do learn, do they?
”The music industry knows that in Liberal land, if you vote Republican, you’re a “Nazi”.”
Well there you go. A bunch of popular music [or noise!] makers from the music industry have declared that anyone who doesn’t agree with them is a NAZI. I wonder how many of these over paid and loud socialist fools know what NAZI means. Hitler, Goebbels and co were actually National Socialists and well read about Marx and others of similar ilk. They loathed Stalin and his International Socialism, so they tended to terminate communist-socialists where-ever they encountered them. Hence for Left/Green/Democrat activists to throw the term NAZI around is to demonstrate their own ignorance and effectively call Conservatives socialists. That pretty much sums up the stupidity of the current screeching, opportunistic and increasingly violent mob.
The attacks on a pretty good singer (and pretty – I’m allowed to say that ‘cos I’m old), because she refused to follow the TDS herd, were extremely nasty. Basically, as you said, any entertainer who doesn’t automatically go anti-Trump is Nazi. Now being from South Africa, I don’t know the details of those standing for Senate, but her argument that voters SHOULD understand who they are voting for is a very strong one. Instead of the usual Hollyweird “Republicans are Evil” chant, she’s expecting the voters to actually think! Yes, I know that it’s hard for a lot of liberals (they may find out some unpleasant things), but it’s a reasonable and extremely honest call. Good for you, Ms Swift!
