While many are enjoying the last weekend of summer, Chicago is abuzz for the Socialism 2026 Conference.

The conference, held, ironically enough, at the Hyatt Regency (JB Pritzker, we’re looking at you and your family) charges up to $500 per participant. Now, if nobody finds this to be laughable, I assure you, some of the panels will make one LOL for real.

From Culture and Art, Socialism 2026 brings you Theatre of The Oppressed:

“Fun games”. Yeah. You lost me at that ridiculously pretentious word: pedagogy. It is always about the freaking pedagogy with these pseudo intellectuals.

The shenanigans, and dumb and dangerous ideas continued throughout the weekend. Particularly, surrounding health. Take this, for example. Nursing, and the profession of nursing is now political:

Shocker they let someone named “Zion” into the conference but, moving on, Zion Zorro, is a nurse at University of Chicago Medicine. But, nursing as a political profession? What in the world ever happened to care? What happened to the Nightingale Pledge?

Before God and those assembled here, I solemnly pledge; To adhere to the code of ethics of the nursing profession; To co-operate faithfully with the other members of the nursing team and to carry out faithfully and to the best of my ability the instructions of the physician or the nurse who may be assigned to supervise my work; I will not do anything evil or malicious, and I will not knowingly give any harmful drug or assist in malpractice. I will not reveal any confidential information that may come to my knowledge in the course of my work. And I pledge myself to do all in my power to raise the standards and prestige of practical nursing; May my life be devoted to service and to the high ideals of the nursing profession.”

We all know Socialists are God-less, so Zorro’s stance is already problematic for those of us looking in on the healthcare industry and the Marxists’ desire to revamp it. Zion’s “bigger picture” and her union’s “bigger picture” involves advocating for Palestine and abolishing ICE (she said it herself), not checking in on your Grandma.

Agreed: non medical factors can influence health outcomes. But be careful. This can easily tip into discrimination in the real time provision of care, which is unethical.

Then there was the presenter who basically said that being physically fit was a sign of fascism. Enter Beatrice Alder-Bolton:

So much to unpack in this word salad. OOF. Why eat a salad or one of those fascist bags of carrots when there’s a box of Twinkies in the pantry? You know what else is cringe? That mask from 2020. You know what’s strategically bad? All of their hairstyles. All the time. I digress.

Fitness is a measure of relative disposability under capitalism. Our task is not to become more disposable but to become more useable to the ruling order. Useable? Like in a useful idiot sort of way? In order to be useful, you may need to stop hiding behind your mask like a child. And, excuse me, the more dysgenic, the better? Is this why you socialists and their party want to kill off kids with Down Syndrome before they take their first breaths outside of the womb? What say you, oh, woke nurse?

Right. Abolish ICE. And Iceberg lettuce, apparently.

But, nursing is political. And having a six-pack, killer biceps, or just not eating crap and lowering your BMI indicates that you may be the next Hitler.

Is she talking about mentally fit? Because, based on observation, she is clearly not.

And, there you have it. I’m not the Surgeon General but it is quite possible, that being at the medical mercy (or lack thereof) of a Socialist or the Socialism contagion itself could indeed be dangerous to one’s health.

And we thought COVID was bad.
