San Jose State (SJS) women’s volleyball has been in the news these last couple of months. And it’s not because of their winning record. Instead it’s because the team has a transgender player – A GUY, on the team.

As rational and reasonable people know, guys who either pretend to be or transition to women have a definite physical advantage over women in sports. But that hasn’t stopped them from shoving their way onto women’s or girls teams across the United States, and putting all females involved at risk. 

The New York Times reported on the San Jose State issue in full sympathy mode for the transgender player and SJS.  

The University of Nevada, Reno, became the fifth school this season to decline to compete against San Jose State when it pulled out of a game scheduled for last Saturday in response to reports that a player on San Jose’s team is a transgender woman. The others that have decided not to play the team are Southern Utah University, Boise State University, the University of Wyoming and Utah State University.

“We refuse to participate in any match that advances injustice against student athletes,” Nevada’s team posted on social media, referring to what it views as an unfair advantage transgender women have in competition.

The refusals to play, along with hateful online messages directed toward the team, have taken a toll on every member of the Spartans, said Todd Kress, the team’s head coach.

“It frankly has been heartbreaking to watch for our student athletes,” he said to reporters after the team lost a match this month. Mr. Kress was unavailable to be interviewed for this article.

Then again, the media has a long record of sympathy for the transgender in women’s sports agenda and zero sympathy for the women caught in the middle. It doesn’t matter that girls and women have been injured by the men on their own or the opposing team. It doesn’t matter that women fought for YEARS to get Title IX in place so that WOMEN’S Sports would be able to thrive. Nope, if someone identifies as transgender, they MUST be allowed to play!

The media would rather go after Brooke Slusser instead of reporting the reality. Which is that a male player on a women’s team is wrong on every level.

A few days ago, one of the San Jose State assistant volleyball coaches, Melissa Batie-Smoose had had enough and filed a Title IX lawsuit agains the school. The details in the lawsuit should enrage every woman who has played in sports. 

On 29 October, Batie-Smoose filed a 33-page sworn declaration with officials at SJSU, the Mountain West Conference, and the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA), exhorting these bodies to investigate (1) the overt favouritism that she believes her school has shown to Fleming, at the expense of Fleming’s 18 female teammates; and (2) the unsettling measures that SJSU officials have allegedly taken in order to suppress expressions of concern from these affected women.

In both respects, Batie-Smoose alleges that the behaviour of SJSU officials—including her own direct boss, Spartans head coach Todd Kress, whose position on these issues has reportedly alienated him from many of his players—may violate Title IX, the US civil-rights law that prohibits sex-based discrimination in federally funded education programs.

READ IT ALL. The coaches now at SJS weren’t responsible for recruiting Blair Fleming, the previous coaches were. Furthermore, the college administration HID this information from the coaches and players. It took nearly a year of practices and games before Fleming finally spoke up and told the coaches and team that HE was a transgender athlete. 

And this is where things started going off the rails for the volleyball team. Schools started forfeiting games rather than put their players at risk. 

The team itself is having a major crisis, one that the head coach and the Administration are contributing to.

Can you imagine the stress the girls are under? Can you imagine how they feel about a school and coaches putting a transgender guy above the health, safety, and welfare of the team? Is it any wonder that Coach Batie-Smoose had had enough and filed a Title IX lawsuit? I don’t blame her. 

It’s what San Jose State did this afternoon that not only adds insult to injury, its beyond outrageous. 

OutKick has learned that San Jose State suspended associate head volleyball coach Melissa Batie-Smoose indefinitely, effective as of Saturday.

The SJSU players were informed prior to the team’s match against New Mexico and many of the team members were emotional upon learning of the news, according to sources.

San Jose State said in a statement to OutKick:

“The associate head coach of the San Jose State University women’s volleyball team is not with the team at this time, and we will not provide further information on this matter.”

San Jose State is OH SO VERY CONCERNED about the toxic culture that THEY created, that they’ll arbitrarily suspend the one person who is trying to help those girls. 

This is what the girls at SJS and Air Force faced just the other day.

I can’t write what I think about that here. San Jose State is totally in the wrong and those stats from Fleming are nothing to cheer about. I’m absolutely amazed no one got hurt.

In my opinion, San Jose State stepped in it big time by suspending Coach Melissa Batie-Smoose. One other thing to remember. The Biden-Harris Administration is all in on the transgender craze and is quite happy to change Title IX to fit that agenda.
