As CNN is reporting, two committees in the Republican led house are debating the American Healthcare Act (AHCA). The Ways and Means Committee and The Energy and Commerce Committee are debating and marking up (writing) the new healthcare bill.

After an 18-hour session, the House Ways and Means Committee has become the first to approve the Republicans’ Obamacare repeal bill.

White House and Republican congressional leaders had sought to fast track the legislation through Congress. Democrats made clear it wouldn’t be easy — dragging out a grueling day of committee sessions well into the early morning hours. The House Energy and Commerce Committee is still debating.

Omgravy, they worked all night. Bless their little pea picking hearts. They are writing the bill now. What the Sam Hill have they been doing the last seven years as Americans were suffering under the (Un)Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare.

That video is over ten minutes long. After the first couple minutes, all I heard was “reconciliation”, Freedom Caucus, and “filibuster”. Healthcare reform is going to happen in three phases.

Phase 1. Repeal mandates, taxes and spending in Obamacare. Reform to allow Health Savings Accounts, tax credits and risk pools.

Phase 2. Obamacare has 1442 provisions that the Health and Human Services (Orwellian) Secretary, Dr. Tom Price can unilaterally dismiss.

Phase 3. Buy insurance across state lines (Victory Girls own Kim Quade destroyed that little fantasy, read here). Finally, medical liability/tort reform.

Sausage making is ugly. We have all been told that. I have never actually made sausage, but I suppose if one is butchering sacred cows, it could be. I don’t give a good gosh darn about how they do it. They need to get this feces stew fixed. Now.

We had the best healthcare system in the world. Everyone in our country had healthcare. One could not be turned away. Our healthcare system was leading edge, caring and innovative.

Obamacare was never about “health” or “care”. It was about taking over one sixth of the U.S. economy, regulating behavior and redistributing wealth. That’s it, full stop.

Let the new healthcare bill be done in public. Debate it. Filibuster it. Kill as many sacred cows as possible. This is about saving healthcare and the future of the Republic.
