How can Bloomberg News possibly act surprised at the news that the Trump team will not issue them press credentials to cover the campaign? This can’t be a shock to them.
After all, once former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg tossed his very rich hat into the Democrat primary and his media company announced that they wouldn’t cover him, or, in the interest of “fairness,” any of the other Democrats – but that Trump was still fair game – what could they possibly expect after so openly declaring their bias?
“Bloomberg News has declared that they won’t investigate their boss or his Democrat competitors, many of whom are current holders of high office, but will continue critical reporting on President Trump,” Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale said in a press release. “As President Trump’s campaign, we are accustomed to unfair reporting practices, but most news organizations don’t announce their biases so publicly. Presented with this new policy from Bloomberg News, our campaign was forced to determine how to proceed.”
“Since they have declared their bias openly, the Trump campaign will no longer credential representatives of Bloomberg News for rallies or other campaign events,” he announced. Parscale did allow for the possibility that the campaign would speak to individual reporters or answer inquiries from Bloomberg News, but only on a case-by-case basis.”
But Bloomberg News is shocked, SHOCKED, that the Trump campaign would DARE to question their integrity, or their press credentials, or the fact that their paychecks are being signed by Michael Bloomberg.
(Editor-in-chief John) Micklethwait rejected Parscale’s allegations of bias on Monday, insisting that Bloomberg’s news outlets have covered Trump fairly throughout his political career and would do so regardless of the Trump campaign’s restrictions.”
“The accusation of bias couldn’t be further from the truth,” Micklethwait said in a statement. “We have covered Donald Trump fairly and in an unbiased way since he became a candidate in 2015 and will continue to do so despite the restrictions imposed by the Trump campaign.”
Suuuure, you’ve covered Trump, his campaign, and his administration “fairly” since 2015. I believe that Leif Olson would still like a formal apology from one Ben Penn and from the Bloomberg Law media division, which gosh darnit, looks like the Bloomberg media conglomerate has just never gotten around to. Shocking, right, that after libeling a new hire within the Department of Labor, Bloomberg News can’t imagine why they aren’t seen as the arbiter of all things good and righteous and holy. Just give them those press credentials, please, they’ll work out those small details about slander later.
Now, it’s only the Trump campaign that’s denying press credentials to Bloomberg News, not the White House, so there will be pouting and sniping, but no lawsuits. Maybe the “news team” can sit around and think about why they work for this guy, who just wants to make sure that you’re poor enough to live longer! After all, if poor people had money, they might make BAD CHOICES. Like drink a Big Gulp or something! The video is from a year ago, but you know what happens when REAL journalists dig into candidates? They find gems like this.
When I first saw this I thought he couldn’t have said it. But he did. He wants to take money from the poor for their own good. https://t.co/x4a8zdpoNJ

Wow. I can’t imagine why Bloomberg’s candidacy isn’t just catching fire right now. Clearly, he is the best and wisest among us because he is rich, and therefore, he knows what is best for us poorer classes. I’d pop popcorn and wait for Elizabeth Warren to take him on in a debate, but Bloomberg won’t even make the debate stage because he isn’t accepting donations to his campaign.
So, to sum up, Michael Bloomberg is blowing his own money on a vanity run for president, he’s handcuffed his own media organization to not cover him or his Democrat rivals, and then that same media outlet wants press credentials from the Trump campaign to cover them “fairly” as they have been for years? HA. HA. HA. Even if you aren’t a Trump fan, you have to appreciate the fact that he plays hardball with the media – and they SO deserve it.
