Dennis Prager and the Prager University YouTube channel (better known as just Prager U) has to be shaking in their boots, because Samantha Bee is calling them out. And by “shaking in their boots,” I mean laughing hysterically.
While Michael Bloomberg is desperately paying “meme-makers” and “social influencers” to make himself look cool (and annoying my children to no end with his obnoxious YouTube commercials), Dennis Prager has been building up his own YouTube channel for years, based upon himself and other experts/media pundits/well-known names giving informational talks. These videos usually last around 5 minutes, focus on one topic, and have well-done and carefully choreographed graphic images. Prager U covers everything from history to the Ten Commandments to current events.
Despite being censored on the YouTube platform more than once, Prager U keeps pressing on. Well, this has made Samantha Bee, the talk show host who calls herself a comedian so she can get away with saying insanely nasty things, very upset. How DARE the right put out short videos with good graphics?? Why, it might make the children THINK!!
Prager U is actually dangerous. They’re reaching a new, younger audience with bullshit conservative propaganda. They trick kids into thinking their videos are educational even though Prager U is as much of a real college as Monsters University.

THAT is an excellent response to Samantha Bee’s frothing hysteria.
Prager University correctly figured out a video-making template that has served them well for years now. By serving up information in small segments, they make it easy to commit to watching a single video at a time without feeling like you’re pulling up a seat for an hour-long documentary. (Speaking of which, if you’re looking for hours and hours of in-depth documentaries, the new Bill Whittle podcast about the history of the Cold War is spectacular.) The range of timely topics means that the videos are applicable in the moment, and aren’t just for sweeping historical information.
The videos also make it easier for parents to explain concepts to their teens. My daughter and I have watched many a Prager U video together, and one of the first ones I showed her was about college loan debt. Seeing as there are mailers arriving at my house nearly every day from colleges all across the country right now, what she learned from that video is now informing the conversations that we are having about higher education.
The left just can’t deal when the right pulls the “anything you can do, I can do better” card, so their answer is to censor (free exchange of ideas?? Won’t someone think of the CHILDREN??) or to complain and whine. Samantha Bee is whining, and it’s no secret why. Her YouTube channel has 989,000 subscribers. Prager University’s YouTube channel has 2.4 million subscribers. If you can’t beat ’em, complain about them.

Good advice, IMO.
Really, if your child doesn’t crave being an 80-hour per week hard charging executive who’s ready to answer a client’s phone call at 2 AM then catch a plane to who knows where four hours later, which is what it takes beyond mere smarts to pull down the big bucks working for someone else, then your child should seriously consider learning one of the trades. Without a super sense of personal drive, a college grad earns only a bit more than non-college grads and much less than a journeyman tradesman.
Those plumbing, HVAC, roofing, painting, and carpentry jobs aren’t going to be outsourced to China or the next low wage country to burst upon the global trade scene. But the work of paper shufflers and what Clinton administration Secretary of Labor Robert B. Reich once called “symbol manipulation jobs” are ripe targets for outsourcing. If a work product can be digitized, it can be piped out of the USA by Internet to countries with large numbers of fluent-enough English speakers (e.g., India, The Philippines) to be done for a few dollars per hour.
Also, for the girls, if they are going to accumulate a college debt that takes 15-20 years to pay off but drop out of the workforce after 5-10 years in order to stay home and raise the children they have by their husband, then how will they get that debt paid off? Marrying one of the Trump sons isn’t a plan.
Choose wisely.
