“So disproportionately, black and brown people, because you don’t even need a high school diploma to be a CBP officer, their only pathway to the middle class is to work for CBP. And they are now a part of this larger machine, a cog, in the oppression and incarceration of people who look just like them.”

Thus, Pressley insulted half the agents of the Customs Border Patrol, who are Hispanic, by saying that they weren’t capable of making their own way without a government job. She further insulted them by implying that they were uneducated, since they supposedly “don’t need a high school diploma” to qualify.

However, that’s complete horseshit. The US Border Patrol requires its agents to be well-educated and experienced. For its lowest level officers, the CBP qualifies its candidates who prove either three years of general work experience; a bachelor’s degree; or a combination of post-high school education and work experience.

So does that sound like a slacker high school dropout would be a good candidate for a border patrol agent? I don’t think so, either. But it played well to the Netroots Nation.

Finally, what wisdom did Squad member Rashida Tlaib add to their Girls’ Revolution? She resurrected the line which made her famous. Rather, made her infamous:

“We’re going to impeach the MF’er, don’t worry!”

So classy, isn’t she? She then continued:

“I will not back down impeaching this lawless president. He will not be above the law and get away with it on my watch. Stay strong. Stay strong on this. If we don’t call him out, if we don’t push for this … who is going to be the next crooked CEO that runs for president? You know they’re coming.”

And how’s that impeachment working out for Tlaib, hmm? Last I checked, Trump was still firmly ensconced in the White House. He’s not going anywhere anytime soon, either.

Meantime, while the Power Puff Squad were whipping up the crowd in Philly, several progressive groups released a statement further slamming Nancy Pelosi and House Democrat leadership. Here’s part of the statement:

“. . .it’s deeply concerning that senior Democratic Party leaders and their aides have been escalating attacks on new leaders in the party who have been rightfully advocating a stronger approach to holding the Trump administration accountable to human rights abuses being committed on the border and against immigrants.”

At the rate things are going, the fractious four of the Power Puff Squad just might be able to wrest control from Nancy Pelosi and her Democrats. Nancy had better fasten her seatbelt — it’s going to be a bumpy ride.
