Remember when Mayor Ted Wheeler of Portland and Governor Kate Brown of Oregon insisted that if President Trump would just remove the federal protection from the courthouse, the riots would go away and all would be sunshine and roses in the Rose City?
LIES. But you’re shocked, SHOCKED, by that knowledge.
To no one’s surprise, the mobs in Portland have been emboldened, not satiated, and have now moved on to a different police precinct for their nightly riots. This precinct, however, is in east Portland, and very near residential areas. So the riot has moved into neighborhood to provoke and assault residents.

But before they moved into the residential areas, the woke mob had one of their finest moments. A couple of older women – one standing with a walker – were standing in front of the east precinct. One was holding a “BLM” sign. They were apparently trying to protect the precinct. And this is what happened.

What wokeness. Someone’s mommy is going to be so proud of their little anarchist when they return home to the basement and hear the story about how they got to throw paint – or some other substance – on someone’s grandma tonight! Woooo, resistance!
The other really great video came when the woman with the walker tried to put out a fire, and one of the mob blocks her from doing so. “NOOOOO I MADE DIS, NO TOUCHY!”

So, where’s that “Wall of Moms” that supposedly were out to save Portland? Are they on board with throwing paint on Grandma? No, they’re not there anymore. The “Wall of Moms” is now participating in one of the finest leftist traditions we know, eating their own and tearing the group apart in the name of racial justice. They’re now too busy arguing amongst themselves to care what the little anarchist darlings are doing to Grandma, just please don’t track that paint into the basement, it’s a bitch to get out of the shag carpet.
The Portland police are doing what they can, but they have been undermined by the political leaders and are taking the full brunt of abuse and violence from the rioting mob with both hands tied behind their backs. And their accounts are chilling.
Sgt. Maxey has been with the bureau for 18 years. He agreed that way too many resources over the last two months have been dedicated to violent riots, and he added that officers have been subjected to “some of the most horrific displays of hate” that he’s ever seen during the ongoing protests.”
Specifically he referenced a protest outside of Portland Police Association, where 4,500 people showed up and many in the crowd turned their attention to two female officers.”
“The crowd keyed in on them, saying some of the most vile things to them, talking about sex assault, about being sex objects for other officers,” Maxey said. “There was one individual that said that he was going to take the baton from one of the female officers and sexually abuse her with it. It was something that is so vile, no one should be exposed to it.”
Anyone else shocked that Mommy’s little anarchists are vile misogynists toward female police officers?
Portland, listen up. Your political leaders are mealy-mouthed cowards who are letting these riots go on night after night. Your police department is overwhelmed and stretched too thin to come help you. The mob is moving toward your homes, and they don’t care who they hurt. You are on your own. You need to defend yourselves. And everyone else, pay attention. This is what could happen to you. The police have never been able to prevent all crime at all times. You are your own best defense. Be prepared.

GeorgeV says: The sad thing is that anyone who defends themselves in Portland using something that would actually defend them from the mob (broadsword, battleaxe, or industrial strength laser) would be charged with assault or attempted murder.
I cannot understand how these mob types can assault people and not be charged, nor be condemned by Democrat party politicians at any level. How can you watch this happen without wanting to give send these bratty children to their rooms without supper for the next, oh, 20 years maybe? (When I see how they behave they remind me of a room of out-of-control 5 year olds. But, they are much more of a threat than that.)
Douglas Loss says: I have a friend (a native, born there) Portlander who just bought himself matched S&W 9mm pistols, each carrying 18 rounds (17 in the magazines, one in the pipe). His thinking is that this is more that the 30 round magazine common in an AR-15, and that even if one jams he has the other available. He really hopes not to need them, but I’m quite sure his business WON’T be looted or burned…
I doubt very much if he’s alone in that.

buddhaha says: I live in the PDX area (15 min to downtown with no traffic) but not within the city limits. When I bought my house, I wouldn’t even consider Multnomah county – I’m quite aware of how the large city tail winds up wagging lesser populated county dog.
I am very suspicious of vote-by-mail, although I don’t think that it’s been corrupted for positional issues, but it’s just too tempting a target. Eventually, it will happen. I do believe that voting totals have been fudged on bond issues that affect the jobs of the people counting the votes. I base this on conversations I’ve had with a broad spectrum of people, with lots of favorable comments of winning candidates, negative comments about losers, and mucho bitching about bond issues that somehow pass.
That said, I’ve found that leftist voting in the area is very much like a fashion statement. Everyone around you is wearing a wide tie and skirts are knee length, with much discussion of neck to point length and side or back slit. Only a few are having these discussions, but they absorb almost all the bandwidth available. So, every guy wears wide ties, tries to tie them the correct length and the ladies have some skirts with side slits and some with back, but all of the “correct” length. Nobody wants to be snickered at because they’re wearing a narrow tie or a long skirt, much less no tie or a pair of jeans.
The problem is that the Overton window has been centered very left for decades, so the non-left organizations have withered. There may be a sufficient number of voters pissed about the rioting, but no one to vote for.
And, as I said, the vote-by-mail system, which concentrates the vote counting process in one location counted by county employees, is ripe for abuse. If the leftists who infest government see the vote going the “wrong” way, will they do something about it?
Add to this the situation coming up in November (it’s too complicated to explain how) where the choices on the ballot will be feckless Ted vs a woman who has literally said, “I’m with Antifa”, and I predict confidently that Portland will continue it’s slide into leftist hell.
My wife has been wanting to move for a couple of years, and I’m starting to look. Unfortunately, it’s hard to find a politically safe area with decent weather and decent services, especially medical. We’re both comparatively healthy, but that’s “compared” to other retirees. 🙂
