We’ve moved from gutter to sewer news. As we’ve watched over these last years, it seems that the very best of the media has devolved into the trash media. As long as a Republican is taken to the woodshed, trash news is peachy keen.

It’s been amazing to watch as far too many once reputable outlets have descended well below the National Enquirer when it comes to the stories they print. This from Politico regarding Jennifer-Ruth Green’s run for office is a case in point. She’s a Republican, a black Republican, and therefore everything she says or does is suspect. 

Green, 40, is locked in one of the nation’s most competitive congressional races against freshman Democratic incumbent Rep. Frank Mrvan. POLITICO rates the race as leaning Democratic. But Green has made it competitive by posting record fundraising numbers — she raised $1.3 million in the third quarter, which positions her to likely outraise Mrvan for the second straight quarter.It’s not just her unique story that has made her a formidable challenger, but the ways and places in which she tells it: She’s become something of a regular on Fox News, a Black messenger who is a useful soldier in the culture wars for Republicans.

“I wholeheartedly disagree that every system is inherently racist,” she said of critical race theory on Fox & Friends in July, “because if it were, I would not have had the opportunity of becoming a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force and the Indiana National Guard … And so I’m exhibit A, and a rejection of the notion that CRT is a thought process that is worth continuing to provide to our K-12 children.”

Jennifer-Ruth Green’s story is compelling. She was a military brat and even as Politico is snidely dismissive, it seems that she was raised in a family with high expectations regarding work, ethics, and education. I mean, how dare her parents expect her to get her homework done AND do chores??!! 

As for her stance regarding critical race theory, that’s enough to disqualify her in liberal eyes. She’s black and rejects CRT? She must be banned, or have Politico and other outlets engage in sewer journalism to teach her a lesson. The fact that she’s against abortion is enough to make liberals demand she go to the back of the bus and stay there. 

I grieve when I see liberals say that banning abortion will disproportionately harm women of color.

Yes, the abortion regime targets Black women.

Yes, more Black babies are aborted than born in New York City.

No, eugenics isn’t a good thing.

The entire Politico piece, after I read through it three times, is snide and dismissive. It’s also egregious as somehow that trash was handed her military record. This is what Politico wrote:

Green’s mostly stellar military record took an unexpected hit in early 2010, according to military records. In an evaluation of her performance spanning from March 15, 2009 to Dec. 15, 2009, she received a “does not meet standards” rating in leadership skills, professional qualities, and judgment and decisions. The evaluation centered on “two instances of lacking judgment while deployed; handling your weapon and wandering away while at a [forward operating base].”

In the first case, she was given a letter of counseling for loading her weapon inside a military facility. The second more serious incident occurred in September, according to her military records, when she and a small group of officers visited the national training center. She left the group to climb into a cramped guard tower where Green says an Iraqi serviceman sexually assaulted her by grabbing her breast and exposing himself.

She said she was advised not to report the assault by a staff sergeant, who was also a military equal opportunity representative. He told her that “if American leadership complained to Iraqi leadership, they would continue to see women as liabilities and limit their ability to serve….”

Wait just one damned minute here! Politico gets handed Jennifer-Ruth Green’s military record and decides a great hit piece is in order, especially when they read that she was sexually assaulted by an Iraqi soldier while deployed? And the military told her to shut up about it? 

I kid you not. If it was a DEMOCRAT candidate for office, Politico would’ve led the news cycle by writing 2,000 words on how brave she was and how awful the military was for marginalizing her and kicking the issue under the rug.

But since Green is a REPUBLICAN, sewer journalism is A-OK!

Jennifer-Ruth Green is fighting back. 

‘This is the exact same situation all over again, all because there was a man who wanted some sort of gratification,’ Green said.

‘Congressman Frank Mrvan gets his gratification of trying to think he’s smearing my name. Adam Wren gets his gratification of thinking he’s going to get a good smear story out of it. And all it does is essentially reopen wounds for victims.’

Exactly. In order to prop up the Democrat opponent, Politico went into the sewer and decided that #METOO only matters when it’s a Democrat candidate. Why?

Jennifer-Ruth Green is a candidate who is running on the wrong side of politics according to her betters. Which means the knives are out, and Politico jumps from the gutter into the sewer with this egregious hit piece.
