The Minnesota/Feeding Our Future fraud linking Ilhan Omar and her family members plot continues to thicken.

There were the “daycares” and the grocery stores, Rose Lake Capital, The Safari Restaurant and, how can we forget, the “winery”. Now, according to reports, Omar’s sister has (shocker, I know) been linked to the fraud.

The federal meals scandal is described as the largest public theft in Minnesota history. The statehouse’s House Fraud Prevention and State Agency Oversight Committee is probing the Somali-born congresswoman’s involvement in the scandal, but Democrats in May blocked a subpoena that would require Omar to produce records.

Public records in the state, however, may tie Omar’s sister, Sahra Noor, to the operation. Noor has run several businesses in the region, including the People’s Center Clinics & Services in the Somali neighborhood of Minneapolis, which controversially received a $2 million earmark while her sister was a state representative.”-Luke Rosiak, Daily Wire

Noor went on to found a group called Grit Partners Consulting, and publicly says her company ‘has secured more than $20 million in funding for health initiatives’ and has ‘consulted on projects backed by’ federal health agencies such as USAID and the Center for Disease Control.

Sharing a front with major players in the fraud? Not a red flag at all, right? Coincidence? Me thinks not. The Hyacinth Avenue home is occupied by Mashah Ahmed Ali and his wife Ister (a.k.a. Ismahan) Ahmed Afraa. Afraa opened a company called Sunrise Business Center, Inc. alongside Hanna Marekegn. Marekegn, claimed to be “feeding 4,000 children a day”. Yeah. You know she didn’t. What did she do instead? She bought a mansion, boasting about being part of “The American Dream”. Movin’ on up.

Sahra Noor is also one of these million dollar “success stories”, apparently, from Mogadishu to Minneapolis (snicker). Ms. Noor has even written a memoir with her millions, entitled “Salt In The Snow”. In the memoir, she discusses the journey from Mogadishu to Minneapolis-one of the coldest cities in the United States and “starting over” as a refugee. It’s a true, heart-warming rags-to-riches story, so they say…

Good, sis. Go back to that sh*thole and stay there.

Despite weathering the grueling cold temps and seeing snow for the first time in Minneapolis as a refugee, she still longs to get back to her roots.

Again, if she misses Somalia so badly and longs for those white, sandy beaches and the all of the colors, she can return on a one-way ticket. No one is stopping her. We’ll gladly pitch in and buy it for her. Hell, we’ll even spring for a First Class seat. But the gravy train is so good here in the country she and her sister hate so much. So, Noor, Omar and the likes of all of them want to stay here and “get back to their roots” while imposing their third-world country ideals and tactics on Americans and stealing everything they can from the American people (who they actually despise). This is their American Dream.

So, they stay. Because getting back to their roots in Mogadishu is complicated, though. Lots of trauma from the past. Especially when ICE came to town back in February.

I lived in Minneapolis for twenty-one years. I raised my daughter there. But I had never claimed the city out loud like that. Minneapolis was where I built a life, but I never stopped to ask whether it was mine. Yet watching federal immigration raids unfold on streets I know so well triggered me, and my body reacted before my mind did.

I know what it feels like when armed men enter neighborhoods and the air shifts. I know how quickly ordinary life can shrink into fear. I know how families begin locking doors and lowering their voices, how children learn to read adult faces before they understand the words being said.

Read: I hate it here but I will take what I can get here and hide behind “graceful prose” whilst stealing and guising under the pretense of “perseverance in the face of adversity”. Critics are raving about Noor’s work in advance to the book, which is out on August 4th.

It may be too late for a title change as Sahra Noor’s memoir has already been published. I’m waiting with bated breath for the sequel, though, Salt In The Snow Job.
