It is almost impossible to avoid the constant news feeds about the terrorist activities of ISIS. The second beheading of an American in a public display of barbarism has caused an unexpected (to me, at least) display of insensitivity on Twitter, to say the least.
Our President’s recent pronouncement that he does not have a strategy for dealing with the hate-filled, murderous monsters has riled even the liberal media.
Yesterday two prominent Obamaphiles came out with supposedly strong statements against the radical terrorist Muslim group. First was Massachusetts’ flaming liberal Senator, Elizabeth Warren, who in her quest to one-up Hillary Clinton while promoting her new book, made the following declaration:
“We need to be working now, full-speed ahead, with other countries, to destroy ISIS. That should be our No. 1 priority…”
When asked about military action, however, Warren quickly returned to her liberal ideology.
“We can’t get pulled into another war in the Middle East,” she said. “We need to be working with others to close ISIS down.”
Here is a question for Ms. Warren: Who the Hell are the OTHERS that you are counting on to stop these bastards?
And speaking of Hell, yesterday we also heard from the man who is but a heartbeat away from replacing Herr Obama. Joe Biden got in on the faux-hawk action and tried to stir the pot with his own take on what our foreign policy toward ISIS should be: (We will) Go to Hell.
“They should know we will follow them to the gates of hell until they are brought to justice,” he forcefully told an audience at an event on the New Hampshire-Maine border. “Because hell is where they will reside. Hell is where they will reside.”
Sort of sounds like leading from behind again. Quite the foreign policy, Lunchbucket Joe.
And then we have ordinary citizens who, in the absence of any real leadership from the powers-that-be in this country, are trying to express their own outrage with the ISIS thugs. I am not yet sure how I feel about the latest adaptation to the “ALS ice-bucket challenge” that is making the rounds.
It does take guts to film yourself burning the ISIS flag. With recent speculation reality that there are already ISIS followers here in his country, there is a real threat to the well-being of those who take this public stand and perform the ISIS flag-burning challenge.
I did not perform the ALS challenge, and I currently have no plans to do the flag-burning challenge either. However, the latter is symbolic of what is to come. When we have a Secretary of State who, in the midst of Islamic terrorism (the likes of which has never seen before) tells the nation that we have a Biblical duty to prevent global warming from killing Muslims, it is enough to make me want to move to a deserted desert island to do penance for the rest of my life to make up for the very un-Biblical thoughts I am having right now.
However, since leadership at the national level is non-existent, the freedom-loving grassroots in this country are being forced to do what we have done in previous times when our way of life has been threatened: we will step up to the plate and take matters into our own hands. The time for action is but a breath away. And frankly, I want Phil Robertson on my side.
Why is this a surprise? None of them have much of a clue about anything, do they?
Merle
You are right about that, Merle. But I guess I hold out hope that there are liberals out there who, if they read that one post with the facts hitting them in the face, might just succumb to the truth. It’s all in how you view the audience and the purpose. Smart people don’t need convincing!
We’ll shame them with out tweets. After all, #BringBackOurGirls worked out well.
wfjag, I have been tweeting a lot lately!
