The SAVE Act Is Indispensable For The Future of the U.S.

The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act or the SAVE America Act passed the House February 12, 2026. The bill is now being “debated” in the Senate. As the Senators try fruitlessly to jawbone each, other working on a rare Saturday, they would do well to remember this bill is about election integrity and their integrity. The act is indispensable for the future of U.S. elections and integrity, especially that of our Senators.

You did read that right. The Senators are actually “working” on Saturday. They will give themselves airs and probably medals for going in into the office on the weekend. Hello? Who hasn’t done that. Senators need to get over themselves. Stat.

The Senators don’t get it. M.D. Kittle has written in The Federalist to help goad the Senators, “Memo To Senate: Saving America’s Elections Is Your No. 1 Job Right Now”:

en. Lisa Murkowski, maybe the best Republican the Democrats have ever had, doesn’t want to waste her time with such inconsequential things as election integrity, particularly making sure noncitizens don’t vote in U.S. elections. So what’s important to the Alaska RINO? Why, “Native Hawaiian women,” of course.

That’s the resolution Murkowski proudly lobbied for in the Senate this week as she works with Democrats to kill the SAVE America Act. Senate Resolution 650, which recognizes “the heritage, culture, and contributions of American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian women in the United States.”

You’ll be glad to know that Murkowski’s priority was considered Wednesday and agreed to without amendment and with a preamble by unanimous consent. Just like that.

The republic is saved!

But what about OUR DEMOCRACY? LOL. Just kidding. Trump is still destroying it.

Here is a link to the SAVE ACT summary. In its original form, the ACT was clean, elegant and efficient. Part of this Saturday boondoggle was to lard up the bill with social issues.

I am for all three of those. They will added to this bill, however, make it harder to get to the 60 vote threshold.

The Senate Republicans don’t get what this Act means for them and their integrity. More from Kittle’s article:

Some CINOs (conservatives in name only) still don’t get it. President Donald Trump is right when he says the SAVE America Act is “one of the most IMPORTANT & CONSEQUENTIAL pieces of legislation in the history of Congress, and America itself.” It’s right to be his No. 1 priority — at least domestic priority. He is right to threaten to withhold support from Republicans who oppose it.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., has done well to get the legislation to the floor for extended debate. Now he needs to pull every lever at his disposal to keep the debate going until he has the votes to pass legislation that will secure our elections and restore faith in them.

But that will take some mountain moving, that is, applying enough pressure on the ultimate culprits in this war for election integrity: Democrats. That’s a job, frankly, that the Senate’s middling Republican majority can’t handle on its own.

Republicans have no spine, integrity or cojones. They can barely handle an Arby’s order. Democrats, on the other hand, are lying sacks of buffalo poo.

Mark Warner is a hack. I am shocked that half of Americans have a passport. I would have thought it was only about one-third.

Senator Warnock is correct. We do only want the right people to vote: Citizens!

We are begging Republican Senators to find and treasure their integrity. Be heroes of the SAVE Act. Be heroes of the Republic.

Do you have a passport? If yes, then you’ll be able to vote, no questions asked. If no, how quickly can you get one? Is there an office close by to apply? Do you have your birth certificate and marriage license if you changed your name? How easy are those to get if not? Do you have money for the fees?

And most of all, do you understand that those here without documentation CANNOT LEGALLY vote? Have you ever voted in person or registered in person? What documentation were you asked to provide when registering? Now use your brains: do you think someone without documentation has all that?

See, this is the problem with people just parroting GOP talking points. They don’t use their heads. And they haven’t read the bill. A RealID WILL NOT work in most states because it isn’t proof of citizenship, including in every single state in the south. In fact, most of the writers for this blog cannot use a RealID save for those who live in Washington state. And if the voter rolls are purged and your name is taken off for some reason and you have to re-register, you will have to have multiple forms of documentation, including your birth certificate and marriage license. How many adults have those? This bill will specifically harm GOP voters because many of them don’t have passports and I’d venture to guess, they don’t have the money or time to get one.

Want to argue with me? Read the bill and quote from it where I’m wrong. Prove it. Show your work. Don’t just trust Fox News. You’re supposedly smart so that should be easy.

It also affects vote by mail because voters would have to submit a photocopy of their proof of citizenship with their ballot. Do you have a photocopy machine at home? If you live in a rural area it means going to a library or FEDEX office which could be several miles away.

This bill affects women who have changed their names when they got married and anyone without a passport or who happens to live in a state that accepts RealID. That’s A LOT of people. It’s basically a poll tax.

It’s so cute that a white Southern woman thinks that this will be easy and protect “election integrity” if it happens to pass. It won’t. But good luck to all the other white Southern women who don’t have passports and have changed their names if it does!
